navigating 4d isnt actually that hard
difficulty comes from the fact that there's no good way to map more complex levels onto the screen without it becoming confusing mess

Are you a game dev or do you have a job with software things?

I meant it based on your comment. I was wrong.
I had a specific question about such game things.

You're speaking from experience, have you had to deal with this before or can I ask what you do professionaly ( have you studied a specific field?) because you know it well?

I see you think I'm some kind of topological mathematician, I'm not, I'm just naturarly decent with geometry
I work on mid tier position in diagnostic imaging

Grug too dumb to understand this.

So for 2D beings it would be unfathomable that their 2D plane could get projected into a 3D space.

We are 3D beings confined in a 3D universe (Time "dimension" excluded), how are we even supposed to find logic if we add an extra dimension that by all means, we cannot understand

        >So for 2D beings it would be unfathomable that their 2D plane could get projected into a 3D space
        it's the other way around
like 3d space in game can pe projected onto 2d space of your screen in a wau you can easily comprahend it, games 4d space is projected into 3d volume you can view and navigate
then in different viev you see a single 2d layer of that 3d projection presented as minigolf course
the games tutorial probably explains it better than I do

"4D" is simply the state of time. You peasants are uneducated

      >"What if thing was like that instead of like how it actually is? Wouldn't that be cool?"
      >"Um, no, thing is actually like this, not like that!"
Why does this mentally moronic shit gets posted every thread?

"4D" literally just means "tuples of 4 numbers".
You can represent 3 spacial dimensions and 1 time if you want.
You can represent 4 spacial dimensions.
You can represent how many grams of salt, pepper, cumin, and cardamom you have.

4 dimensions literally just mean 4 numbers.

being able to abstract and understand this is what separates morons from useful people

you can't represent 4 spatial dimensions graphically in a comprehensible way.

Color grading doesn't help for most shapes. Also doesn't work if you want to have textures and shadows.

the game in question projects 4d space into 3d image then presents slice of that 3d image as minigolf course

I know it from playing the game
game explains quite well what it does and how to navigate in 4d space
you can switch between slice view and volume view of the 3d projection

Actually that's not how the game works lol. The game takes a 3d hyperplane slice of the 4d world (with some transparent shadows orthogonally projected), and then perspective projects the 3d world onto the 2d screen like in regular video games.

      see

the game in question projects 4d space into 3d image then presents slice of that 3d image as minigolf course

similar to how you can project 3d space onto 2d image it projects 4d space onto 3d volume in game

No, time is not a spatial dimension. The 4th dimensional directions are called ana and kata.
