I could go go for days
there frick am I gonna find a 2k/4k crt in 16:9?
4k crts are something we lost out on due to large scale research on the technology being cut off after lcds got popular. there are some CRTs from the 90s that could technically pull off 2k resolution though even if they never needed to at the time they were produced.
where in the world am i gonna find a crt these days? let alone one that wouldn't break my back from carrying it
Fb marketplace or gumtree, 50 dollars will get you what you need
Why didn't you keep the one you had 20 years ago?
it exploded
Not that anon but we threw away our CRT because it was borderline busted. Video on first input sometimes worked or didn't, audio for 2nd input would cut in or out sometimes, and the left part of the screen was like greenish purple for some reason looked kinda like burn in but there was no after image.
For what it's worth I used that TV from 1999 when Dreamcast came out up until early 2010 with the slim PS3.
I've picked up 2 from facebook marketplace both for free
the 20 inch one I have is easy to move
I could carry a CRT easily as a 14 year old nerd, surely you can lift 15kg as a fully grown man
Congrats on carrying a 10in screen my guy
bump
>turn on BFI
>get the same motion quality but twice faster and without the downsides
Nothing personal, CRThomosexuals
just kidding, CRTs are still cool
Can't beat CRT native scanlines but you also can't beat OLEDs infinite contrast or black levels
They have enough pixels to simulate the mask, actually
But with BFI on, they just barely have enough brightness. Barely
Pic rel is the Sony megatron CRT HDR shader on an OLED tv vs matching real CRTs and it's look stupidly good, but you can still easily notice it's lacking in brightness even with HDR, and I'm sure those shots are made without use the BFI mode, which further cuts brightness to allow for CRT tier motion resolution.
Still happy with mine with the brightness cranked to the limits but yeah in the end you're still right, the native scalines can't really be beaten but it's mostly due to the lack of brightness
Right looks better, less blurry
Neither are "blurry" it just has a better contrast
I'm sure this will be a good thread just like all the other CRT threads
I have a TV here that has a big tumor in it's back and does a strange noise when it's turned on, how do I know if it is a CRT TV?
does it hurt when you pick it up
Yes, it's quite heavy.
Yes, I do have that TV.
No, although maybe that's because it's turned off.
Also it doesn't have HDMI output... This shit is useless...
thats not crt thats a spider's nest anon
bro wtf is that shit it look like there's dead wasps inside of it you got a haunted ass tv
I just bought a HDMIx3RCA cable for 5$, I hope what OP wrote isn't a meme
are you fricking serious?
depends, is it warm?
went and bought one op i hope you are happy
here it is displaying furry art
degenerate
No need to be jealous
does it tingle when you press your penis up to the screen?
here it is displaying my NIV Holy Bible
Yes, I am happy
>The CRT pill? Yeah I've taken it
Are CRT monitors inferior to TVs?
it's a big "depends", some are better than TVs and vice versa
>destroys you in motion clarity for video games
>shows you colors and pixels so vivid that you believe it's real life instead of "wow I'm looking at a hazy screen"
now do it for 1/4th of the cost and with no burn in and crts would be pointless same with original hardware
frick collectors
Still has quirks and it's in its overpriced sucker phase. Anyone who gets an OLED TV right now is just beta testing for people who are going to buy them with all the kinks worked out for $300 for 70 inch some day.
Dumbass. People already betatested OLEDs back on Vita, shitty smartphones, and LG displays from 2016-2018. If you buy a OLED today it's mature technology not fragile or bleeding edge.
What you want is QD-OLED from Samsung instead of WOLED from LG.
no, i got LG C2 arriving next week
It's good TV but sucks that black frame insertion only works for 60hz and not 120hz. Also LG software is bullshit. Everytime I turn on my TV it defaults the audio to "Game Mode" and it sounds absolutely horrible compared to standard preset.
im already feeling buyers remorse because of the price and worried about burn in.
burn in isn't too bad with modern OLEDs, just don't leave static images on it for like 8 hours
Well that TV will last you a while at least. Protip is never unplug your TV. When you turn it off after running it longer than 4 hours, it runs pixel cleaning in the background to combat against burn in. If you unplug your TV it doesn't run it and that's how you get burn in. This is why you see it happens to store displays because they shut down the power in the store when they close.
>fricks up your eyesight
no thank you
>no input lag
so it manages to project every single"pixel" at the same time with out any delay?wow crazy
