I'm glad that most of the big cuts turned out to be false, but I'm still upset that they cut corners on so many of the little things like environmental destructibility/interactions and overall more poorly directed cutscenes. Ada's new actress is so bad I'm tempted to switch to Japanese audio just so I never have to hear it. I also don't like the momentum-based movement at all; despite being objectively more mobile, I feel more sluggish than RE4's original tank controls because of those delays. Also the UI is garbage and completely interchangeable with every single other video game to come out in the last decade.
I'm going to play it from beginning to end before rendering final judgment, but I admit that my first impressions aren't favorable ones.
You objectively aren't more mobile than the tank controls though, atleast if you are using a controller.
The way the tank controls work and how the camera moves when you move the right stick left/right and aim makes it far quicker to move around in any direction than modern controls, because it let's you turn instantly rather than waiting on the camera to turn. It's why people played re5 mercenaries for global high scores with tank controls over the updated modern controls.
The only way you can get modern controls to compete is with absolutely ridiculous sensitivity (the remake max sensitivity is way too low) or with flick stick controls etc.
RE has been going for a super minimalistic UI for like four games now. I like how simple and understated it is. I have minor issues with 4 remake UI, but that just might be from only paying the demon, and not being familiar with the somewhat new controls.
The problem is that all games go for "simple and understated" UIs these days. If I had to pick modern RE UIs out in a lineup with other modern games', I wouldn't be able to.

As games have become more textured and detailed it leads to an increase in non-interactable objects compared to ones you can interact with. There HAS to be a good way to tell from a distance what you can break, and a pop of bright color is a easily understandable design choice. The doomers for this game look more and more goofy with each passing day. Each new piece of information gives them less and less ground, and they're getting desperate. First they claimed that half the classes would be cut, but over time that has been proven wrong.
Then it was that the gameplay would suck, the gameplay reveal came out and that has been proven wrong. It plays great.
Now all they have left are petty, minor complaints. Basic cinematography in cutscenes, line delivery, the fact it takes place at day (cyberpunk genre has been doing stuff like this for years, but NOW it's game ruining?), small animation problems, these tiny, petty complaints are all they have left and they're desperate to get the most out of them so they make mountains out of mole hills.

CP2077 was a technical mess due to the rushed release but it turned into a great game, so yes the text still applies and none of the complaints were legitimate.
Its fine when its actual complaints, like cut enemies from RE2 Remake. RE4? First it was "Island was cut because the first 2 trailers didn't show it". Then it was weapons were cut, then it was Regenerator. Now its literally random shit like yellow tape on breakables or doors not breaking if you shoot them.
At this point now that I know pretty much nothing is cut(can't tell you how surprised I am at the fucking Salazar statue making it in, I can't be the only one that was 100% sure that would never return) I can feel secured in preordering it. Everything else is petty enough to not even really bother me at all.
I'm sad U3 is cut, not necessarily for the specific monster itself (even though I like it) but I thought that section was a tense change of pace compared to everything else in the game. So far it's the only thing I know is cut though.

Well I've heard the remake is adding completely new bosses that were never in the original too so it balances out. I'll just have to wait until I get my hands on the game myself to see if I feel like it's a loss for it to not be included. It might feel just right without him in terms of pacing.

Except it is still basically just a reticule but a red dot and a fake laser. It doesn't fix the issue of aiming being based on the camera and not in the world.
The reason why laser aiming was good in the original and dead space original etc. Is because you are aiming in the same relative space that all the game actors move in. In the remake and dead space remake too funnily enough you now aim with the camera which is effectively on a set of axes that are skewed to how every actor moves.
For example, in the original if you aim at an enemy and they walk directly to leon. They will walk along the lasers path the whole time. You don't have to aim at all because you are pointing it at them. In the remake you have to track their movement because they are moving towards leon, and the camera is not where leon is.
What triggers the ending of the demo? I'm trying to have fun killing shit and it just force quits you out of it with the bell tower scene.

I think if we're all being honest the remake looks pretty good, and will probably be quite fun. The problem is that they messed up just a few little things here and there for no good reason, and it's disappointing to see a good game probably miss out on being great because of it.

After playing the demo I admit it is much better than I expected and the small changes in just the first village gave me the same anxiety the original re4 demo did. For all the things this game is doing right, it censored, possibly even downright removed, the thing people wanted most. It murders an aspect of her character, rendering it essentially non-canon. I'm surprised they're even keeping in the gore given the extent that they're willing to go to censor something that the vast majority of players will never even see. This is dishonest, and suggests a lack of soul and attention to detail on the developer's part. No panties, no buy. Simple as.

Like making her less responsive to commands or having her get stuck on the environment, or just shit like this where you have to slap her back onto her feet instead of just healing her. I hope it won't be much worse but I don't know how drastically they're going to change how you interact with her and her behavior. I imagine she won't just hug your back while you aim since you can move while shooting now so they'll have to make her instantly get out of your line of fire or it'll feel like shit.
