The fact that this is 75% the same story as the game but with some minor deviations, expanding upon side characters etc. and yet somehow still managed to be vastly superior in every regard to the game's original narrative just reinforced my opinion that The Last of Us (game) is a piece of shit and everybody who likes it is a fucking dullard who not only has shit taste in video games, but doesn't even understand what a well paced story looks like. It's pathetic how much becoming an almost-direct clone TV series made the entire experience better.

heavy use art assets become stale when examined under a glass lense . even though they purposefully didn't write a good story , they sessioned minor details into the basic premise so it sells better . that will currently make a decent profit and because naughty dog knows how to adjust , they will continue to generalize fictional settings like fallout and wasteland . that will eventually detract from the premise of the theater of it all but they will get opportunities to create things like jak & face-off in due time .
Never cared for the game and I especially don't care for the show. They really just got whoever they could for Joel and Ellie without even trying to make them look like how they do in the game.

Pascal's acting is good and charismatic. The character has clearly been softened by the writers but that's not his fault. Ramsay was an utterly baffling decision though. I almost feel like they deliberately found the least attractive actress in order to avoid creating a jailbait phenomenon
