>the game is good with mods
If the developers couldn't have been bothered to make a proper game, why should I bother to play it? Would you read a unfinished novel that has chapters added by the fanbase?

Because the non-modded version is shit and it's better with mods. Do you have brain damage?
>a shit with sprinkles is better than just a shit
Ok, then to answer a specific portion of your original question(why should I bother to play it?): a modded version of the game is better than the non-modded version. It's not going to be perfect, just better. Skyrim is a good example of that. It's not a fantastic game, but there's elements of it that are nice(music, dragons, etcetera). Mods will improve(combat mechanics, ability to purchase more items) and fix things(bugs and glitches).
what an emotive cat
japan needs another nuke
it's literally a cartoon about owning a cat you retard
retard
correct, OP, you shouldn't bother, a good game is usually good by default
Examples of good games which can be enhanced with mods:
>Kenshi
>Rimworld
>Factorio
>Morrowind
Examples of shit games which are shit regardless of the mods you slap on them:
>Skyrim
>Oblivion
HOI4.
>100 hours vanilla, 2000 modded
I’m thinking based
For me? It's EAW.
i want to brutally kill this fucking cat
This is why I don't want op to post this cute as fuck cat. Because people will grow tired of him/her and say mean stuff like this 🙁
lure that fucker into a cartoon trap with a cardboard box on a stick but instead of a box its a 200 KG ROCK THAT DISINTEGRATES THAT SMUG BASTARD FUCK HIM
Luckily for you, OP posts threads like this hourly and then bumps them repeatedly if nobody responds 🙂
Yeah yeah OP. We all know your intentions.
I hate art like this that teases and doesn't deliver.
>why should I bother to play it
Because it's good with mods. You shouldn't pay for it though, since the devs are not responsible for it being good.
My cat got hit by a car last night bros ;_;
RIP Boots
Rest in power boots
Sorry to hear man. RIP Boots.
>letting your cats outside
I hope you get hit by a car next
good job assuming random internet person.
Eat shit and get raped by morons.
Well if people say the game becomes good with mods I might try it considering I like good games.
I can always pirate it if I dont want to support the developer
Catfags are a blight on God's green Earth.
In your example, it would be down to whether you could accept the fan additions as being a fun read or not regardless of the author's intent
the underlying truth is that the book is bad/unfinished but you can still enjoy what other people have done with it
>CONVINCE ME to play the game!
No. You made your bed, sleep in it.
Here's how it works for me (smart).
I buy a game, I play it.
If I want to mod it, I mod it, and if I don't, I don't.
Nobody is "justifying" anything, I don't need to "think up the ethics" and "map out the reasoning" of what I do. What is fun is fun.
If you need to justify fun your brain is fried, you are done.
>If the developers couldn't have been bothered to make a proper game, why should I bother to play it?
Because your enjoyment of something shouldn't be dependent on other people giving your permission to like it.
You should want to play games and mod them into being the best that they can be for your own enjoyment and appreciation of them.
If you only care about games because other people care about them, you don't really care about games.
