Yeah I thought about that. I'm using stuff to boost the lightning damage and also using Lightning Slash for both. Whats a good amount of faith and dex then to properly use buffs?
I recall keen is better than lightning past 50 dex or something. As for buffs I don't think the blade incants scale so could go with the minimum requirements, but I could be wrong on that.
I pop a physick with lightning cracked tear which boosts lightning damage by 20%. Lightning Slash adds a boost but I don't know how much. Maybe 10 or 15%?? Then I can use lighning scorpion charm for 12% but usually don't use it. I'm somewhat certain these all stack
Not sure if you're still here anon.
Physick will give 20% (15% in pvp)
Scorpion gives 12% (8% in pvp) while also losing defenses.
Lightning Slash adds a flat 90 lightning damage on the weapon.
Do not bother with trying to use Faith for lightning unless you're running incants. Dex is the only stat that boosts Lightning Weapon affinity's damage. Its also the only stat scaling that matters on lightning Ash of War.
Buffs like these stack multiplicatively, keep that in mind. So, the stacking would take the flat 90 Lightning on top of your weapons innate lightning damage and then multiply by 20% into 12%.
As a side note you can do this with Magic/Fire/Holy damage stacking as well. Fire and Magic also get FGMS and Terra respectively for further boosting.
I make invasion videos and use a ton of spellblade-types of builds. The damage stacking is legit and even works very well in PVP if you care.

Awesome to know. Any other dex weapons that are good with lightning? Bandit Curved Sword's moveset is really good. I have two Nobles Slender Sword and they're decent.
>Golden order greatsword >obtained very late game >in a frickoff dungeon >does holy damage >when remaining by that time bosses resist holy from 40 to staggering 80%
What is the point
Elden Ring isn't worth playing more than once. The level design in the proper games was concise and interesting enough to make going through NG+ fun with your completed build.
In Elden Ring if you have nothing to really upgrade then 95% of the game is LITERALLY pointless and meandering.
It's actually the most replayable souls game by far because it has the most quality content, and also plenty of lower quality side content. There's also more options for sequence breaking than ever before, so you have full freedom to take on whatever area first you want, and the freedom to engage in whatever side content you want, depending on your build. There are also more builds viable than ever before, and more fun and cool options and ways of playing them. Consumables are actually really good in ER
If you can't enjoy a second playthrough, it's because you lack imagination and are a soulless husk of a human who needs to be told where to go next and what to do, with a collar and leash around your neck like the dog that you are.
As opposed to every other souls game where it takes 15 minutes to track through linear pathways of easily killed enemies and then a bolder hits you and you have to do it all again
Regardless of the fact you don't know how to have fun ER has better repeatability than every other souls combined

>ER has better repeatability than every other souls combined
nah you are wrong
The people who say it has no replay value are genuine morons who can't figure out how to have fun. It's extremely easy to get a good start in elden ring and there's a ton to do in it.
Its got low replay value because of all the empty space between the good shit. The sense of wonder is gone and you're just gunning from a to b or forcing yourself to do side shit because you need levels. Its damn good fun when you use your new build on bosses, but I'm unintentionally playing like a speedrunner now because its just >i need these upgrade mats >i need more levels >bee line for dungeons avoiding all the tedious shit in the way because the soul gain is shit and so are 90% of all the loot drops [read: arteria leaf] >hold forward on horse for 5 minutes >speedrun shit copy paste dungeon for 5 minutes >run to the next for 10 minutes >clear for 5 minutes
NOW I can get 2 minutes of fun out of the boss.
Then down time increases as you get towards the end because you're doing boring filler for more levels to not get 2 shot.
It was greta the first time around, but the second and you realize how much fat the game has.

This. Open world is a meme and only morons pretend it's good.
Unless you’re very impressionable - you’ll probably like 1 or 2 weapons in the whole game. Considering rebirth and upgrade availability you can try them both to the fullest within one playthrough. Same with magic.
Doing NG+ with a new build though all that rehashed content adds nothing of value
>Consumables are actually really good in ER
Too bad materials collection for them is dogshit. Every pickup from every source is exactly 1 unit of material and there are non-respawning pickups that have to be farmed at low drop chance from actual enemies, just so you can again get only 1 pickup.
Gonna be real with you guys. The reason why you don't think it's replayable is two reasons: >your first playthrough was 200+ hours which is way more than the first playthroughs of any other souls game meaning you got multiple playthroughs worth in the first one >you are waiting for the DLC as an excuse to jump back in the game
That's it. The rest is BS. I've had IRL friends who never replayed a single fromsoft game parrot how they don't want to replay and I'm wondering suddenly that's the most important metric for this game.
dark souls 2 let me make certain zones into ng+ so i never had to go through ng+, all these games are fricking trash because whats the most fun is the sense of progression your character gets not running through a boss gauntlet.
It really isn't though, and I think it's a great game. Every subsequent playthrough I've tried, NG+ or not, has felt extremely hollow compared to other From games.
Rpg
Best weapons are at 90% main quest line
Get weapon
Beat final boss
The end
Dont get to enjoy the weapon
Many such cases
At some point devs need to understand that most gear should be aquireable pre 50% game completion and the other 50% should focus on getting enchantments up upgrade
I remember playing OG Fable on the huegBox and killing the heros sister so i could get the Sword of Aeons just to be greeted with the fricking credits and not be able to use it.
>he plays games like this only once
Now this is where you tell me the game is shit and not worth playing more than once.
I played it repeatedly, using the GOG in fact. Two of them once I got the second one. But it's still annoying to get, you have to be pretty far into the game to get to the snowfields.
Anyone else take issue with weird disconnect between the players >clearly ported from a different, low fantasy style of game
tool-set and the absolutely batshit insane stuff bosses can do? It was this way in Dark Souls 3 as well and it's even worse here. Godfry does WWE moves and shakes the earth, Maliketh leaps around like an acrobat, Malenia and Mohg can fly, Placidusax teleports, the list goes on. We're at the point where you could replace the playable character someone like like Ryu or Dante from proper action games and they wouldn't look out of place, why the frick am I still controlling a knight or club weilding barbarian from Demon's Souls? Why is Elden Ring a even Souls game?
>Godfry does WWE moves and shakes the earth, Maliketh leaps around like an acrobat, Malenia and Mohg can fly, Placidusax teleports, the list goes on
Half of these are demigods anon
>demigods
whom my fricking Demon's Souls character is stronger than somehow. I'm asking why the only way it's shown is through my Demon's Souls R1 doing more damage.
Are you asking why your character can’t do insane stuff with spectacle like the bosses yet is still able to beat them in battle? I mean, you CAN do insane stuff too at smaller scales with ashes of war cause you’re just a tarnished. A glorified zombie person, there’s a reason why even the weakest demigod Godrick has hundreds of tarnished hanging on crosses, grafted onto him or his Scion’s, etc. because 99% of tarnished are pushovers which can be proven even by your character dying a ton.
Godfrey is a tarnished too but he became the first elden lord. Conveniently, the game ends just as you become elden lord so you cannot see your character be a 10ft tall giga bro.
Also this stuff was in Dark Souls too, don’t deny it.
>you're just a tarnished
Godfrey and Gideon Ofnir are tarnished, it literally just means fallen from grace and has nothing to do with strength or ability. They easily could've ditched the tired and ill-fitting souls combat with the lore they were given from GRRM. >Conveniently, the game ends just as you become elden lord so you cannot see your character be a 10ft tall giga bro.
fun. >Also this stuff was in Dark Souls too, don’t deny it.

you'd rather them make 50 different types of Asylum Demon like in DS1? fromsoft gotta keep this genre fresh and harder, because veterans can get through souls games with eyes closed, if this makes you feel weird, then you don't want to think of what they will make for Elden Ring 2 or whatever they frick they are gonna make after Armored Core
>another dodge + R1 homosexual complaining
You spend too much time on here schizo. My problem isn't with the combat itself but how poorly it suits the game. >You can Demon's Souls R1 with a legendary weapon
Wow, seriously impressive stuff buddy. >might spells
Yeah I love shooting blue darts and throwing rocks. Dragon's Dogma has more grandiose spells despite the foes being more in line with what you'd fight in Dark Souls rather than Gods.
Yeah, that really started to bug me when I got to Morgott. Kind of immersion breaking for me just a bit. Its like, they have all these cool super powers and Tarnished are just dudes.... thats it. We don't have access to anything they don't but are somehow able to topple these Muso characters with b***h boy options. Theres no world where a normal man would be able to defeat a 14ft tall mutant hybrid with wire kung-fu levels of acrobatics and agility. Its gone from
> being on near equal footing with a normal person of great skill/strength being able to reasonably avoid these moves and do damage
to
> my guy can go invincible for a split second and thats the ONLY reason he stands a chance
This was already a quirk I noticed in Bloodborne where a guy with pointy stick and a gun is offing cosmic beings, but it was fixed in Sekiro due to all the insane shit Wolf could do. It was believable he could defeat the foes he does, but its just video gamey now.
It’s a very common anime trope of practicing something a thousand times and getting very good.
Implying you can defeat anything with unlimited training time (which tarnished canonically has)
Black person you get an ability from each of these demigods to do crazy stuff as well
>godrick
earthquakes with his axe >rennala
throws moons at people >radahn
Summon everyone to you and crush them >morgott
summon exploding bood from your sword >rykard
summon the dead to kill your enemies >mogh
open a portal to the body of a god to throw its fiery blood at people >malenia
YOU GET WATERFOWL AND THE FLOWER EXPLOSION
You get their awesome power, just because your regular attacks arent as flashy as the boss doesnt mean you cant do cool shit either. If i had to say an issue is that they havent implemented a way to navigate your spell list faster and let us just equip only one ash of war at a time, just let us have 4 and the current button opens a sub menu like the quick item use now has (do the same for the spell button, have multiple loadouts of 4 you can switch by pressing up). Now you could
>have a cool evasive move like quickstep or raven of the mists >a cool buff >a cool weapon technique >some cool projectile
All together in the same weapon >but then it will be easy
Just make the game even harder, instead of balancing around people having spirits balance around us having a full load out like that.
>it’s all locked in a weapon or a spell that you potentially is not built for
Pathetic
I guess all those so called gods were completely powerless without their swords
Im not sure what you are trying to say, besides the only way you get their weapons or spells is because you use their literal life essence to craft them with assistance of the erdtree, so the only reason you can replicate their shit is because you used their energy to do it so.
INT/FTH should have had way more support. Why is this the only weapon available for this build? How did they have an INT/FTH infusion available in Dark Souls 2 and 3 but not this game.
Because Elden Ring was released without proper direction or care for game balance. They just shoved shit in there and then launched it without regard for anything. Same problem DS3 had.
>guts finally got casca to the elf island so she could resolve her mental issues >they get help from the fairy queen, all seems well >except she’s afraid to even look at guts >time passes, griffith shows up >fricks up the island and sinks it >takes casca by force right in front of guts >guts collapses into the fetal position >island is getting fricked up, all the magical creatures are getting forcefully removed from the physical world and returned to the spirit realm >guts is crying in the corner because he just got cucked again

Is it fricked up that the idea of Griffith showing up and just raping Casca moronic again right after they fixed her has me dying laughing? Holy shit imagine.
What, Griffith showed up and raped Casca AGAIN? You're pulling my leg.
Last development that can be attributed to Miura is reveal of child being Griffith. Anything after that is post-Miura work, source for which is about as dubious as it can possibly get, so you shouldn't really take it seriously. Really, they should have just call the quits when it was confirmed that he left no drafts for further plot, but on other hand he should have left them if didn't want his work to be turned into some travesty if anything happens to him.
I thought he had the notes for how the story would be finished? Not a full draft, but the outline of how he wanted it to go?

Official source for continuation after his death, is claim by his friend that Miura narrated certain plot to him from beginning to end some 2 decades ago, and so far major events of Berserk's plot correspond to that very precisely. You decide if you should believe it or not, and even in case of it being truth, this still means that we're getting some very old version, about which Miura might have changed mind but we will never know now.
There is no reasons to doubt that source is actual close friend of Miura, however his motivation might be entirely different in reality, for example being approached by publisher with something like "hey you can assist us to save your friend life's work from being unfinished forever, you wouldn't wish that on him right, and look at all that cash".
Apparently he had all the story notes finished and his team is continuing the manga. They’re not terrible at illustration, but you can tell it’s not going to be at Miura’s quality.
Troll's Roar isn't THAT bad.
Deals pretty good HP and stance damage, and the followup attack is both free and guaranteed to hit if the enemy got knocked down by the roar.
Also, I wanted STR for a greatshield, INT for magic, and DEX for fast magic, and that sword just so happens to scale decently with all 3 of those stats. It looks pretty cool, too.
pure INT is for gay homosexuals but Golden Order is ruined by the DEX requirement. It should have been like the Coded Sword, nothing but FTH. Or it could have been a fricking FTH/INT weapon which matches the backstory of the thing
I miss DS3 where STR actually had another effect. Honestly to make it mix with FTH there is an easy solution, have STR give you a certain amount of Poise while casting spells/incantations
>Its Str + Fth thats fricked
STR/FTH at least gets a seal that scales off of your STR.
STR/INT is the real fricked since there's no STR scaling staff and STR doesn't otherwise help your sorceries in any way.
>STR/INT is the real fricked since there's no STR scaling staff and STR doesn't otherwise help your sorceries in any way. >tfw just started a str/int playthrough so I could go with MGS and big weapons
Frick me
I mean, you do still get some STR/INT scaling weapons, so it's not completely horrible.
Personally I'm trying to do a STR/DEX/INT thing on my STR/INT build with the Troll Knight's Sword.
I still don't understand why gravity sorceries and the meteorite staff aren't str/int. Radahn and the alabastar lords are the main users of it and they're huge gigachads using greatswords.
>Its a great axe >But its Pierce damage >Making it the best axe weapon in the game simply because of counter damage
Why the frick did they put in a special effect for stabbing, but not for anything else, like axes/blunts could rend armor or something.
>equip in both arms >spear talisman >jumping talisman >great jar talisman for extra weight >dragon shield talisman for max sponge >bull goat armor for max poise >flame incantation for extra str
Incoming one tap for almost any mage and low hp Black folk
If you can land the first hit, which is 1:2 chances for me since they see you coming and panic roll away
I just keep barbaric roar for temp buff or lions claw if I feel like a c**t
faith is better than int in ER. stacking magic resist is easy meanwhile faith gets access to all elements, including buffs, heals, and magic damage too
Considering the only thing that matters is how much damage you deal and how quickly Int wins by a long shot because you have far more things to stack for magic damage, as well as the fact that magic items are shared across the entire game so you're always getting something new and cool.
Faith gets a few things at the start, then absolutely sweet fricking all until the end game where everything is holy resistant.
Golden Kino Greatsword shares top spot of prettiest weapon with Godrick's Axe.
The holy damage disadvantage in the lategame is true but it's great for PvE as the skill knocks away enemies and easily shreds through groups.
>keen scaling is so high it might be bugged >big halberd poise damage >move set is faster than halberds and even greatswords >crazy good mounted moves >buff it with blood flame or whatever you want >you can put sword dance on it >it drops from off mobs in babby areas
There are all kinds of easy modes in this game.
Nightrider flail is really good if you're doing some kind of quality build. The L2 spin does crazy dpi, and has good reach in the normal combos that I sometimes find lacking in a lot of regular, non great/collasal weapons. Plus the attacks from horseback are awesome. You can also infuse it and buff it. But it's high requirement does kind of suck.
How much damage reduction is possible in Elden Ring? I used to max out adaptability in DS1 while wearing iron flesh, tranquil walk of peace, and stone guardian set.
I think physical can reach just past 50% with armor and crab meat buff. Elemental damage can go to like 70 or 80% with elemental dragon talismans, the physick tear and the buff incantations
Elden Ring desperately needs a new game + mode where you can start over with your equipment but reset your level. Some weapons like Marika's hammer just feel pointless. You get it from the very last boss, and then you restart with it on new game + where really you use would curb stomp (especially if you upgraded it). I'm sure that would frick the online up even more than it is already, but I don't mind just playing offline where I can experiment around with different builds. Hell, add in a randomizer.
FROM forgetting the best idea from dark souls 2 (more content in new NG+ cycles) is a true travesty. It could've made doing NG+ in their recent souls style games actually interesting, alas.
Dark Souls 3 cut content is a completely different ballpark from what I'm talking about, but I get your point. Why does FROM keep cutting so much finished content is the real question.
Anonymous
>Why does FROM keep cutting so much finished content is the real question.
Because no one at that studio knows management.
Instead they just make tons of junk then cut away what isn't functional so they can put it in another game later once it's finished.
Infinite NG+ is absolutely fricking moronic, especially since it fricks you for online. One NG+ with new content would actually get people to replay and move forward with the game.
Based.
I did my playthrough with STR/FTH and as soon as I saw this I knew that it had to be my weapon. Then I found out about how absurdly broken the tooting is and I experienced pure ecstacy. One of the best weapons in all souls games.
I played the whole game with the default vagabond equipment. I beat all the bosses and got all the achievements. I just didnt feel like changing equipment.
I think I've fallen down this same path. Randomly came across a second Uchi and started power stancing with them. Starting equipment and the bow are just overall solid.
Complete opposite experience for me. I changed my equipment practically every new map area and nothing feels right. Stopped playing the game for 4 months and just got back in last week and still can't find a weapon I like. I haven't finished my first playthrough yet.
I plan to do a dex/faith run on my ng+, I know I'll bz using the bolt of grandsex but is there a dex oriented faith weapon or should I take something like rapier and enchant it?
>Some Death Sorceries are Magic >Some talk about dealing Frost but don't >There's literally one decent spell and one good weapon for the entire "school" of magic
Another fun build that I really like >flame buff >bloodlfame buff >blood talisman >scarlet rot knight talisman >great jar talisman >dragon shield talisman >bonus: flask with str and fire buff
Run and roll catch every single time, or spam R1 for infinite stagger and bleed build
Most don’t even die to the bleed just the fire
Is there some kind of mechanism that gives enemies a chance to survive with like 1% hp from a hit? I swear to god there's countless times throughout the game where enemies just end up with the tiniest sliver for health bar. Either that or my stats are very often just on the verge of a kill, but that just seems ridiculous for how often it happens.
Is bleed/frostbite katana combo still good? I kind of want to start a Samurai playthrough where I immediately rush the second Uchi, then immediately go to Liurnia to grab a frostbite AoW.
Should I do that, or make them Keen?
greatswords are shit in elden meme, the trash moveset is catching up to the weapon types because they keep increasing the speed onf the enemies in every new game so the old slowshit swings don't cut it anymore for the sake of proper combat flow
>try game out after a year >Go follow the grace light or whatever it's called >Get punished >Okay I'll explore >Go to lake >Get punished >Decide frick it and look up guide >Game is much more enjoyable >Come to notice that no fricking npc actually tells you where to go or what to do like in the previous games >The fricking moron who warns you about the dragon at the lake is in a area which you need to go through the lake to get too
I like the game but holy frick the direction of it is fricking abysmal
Faith is a dog shit stat and all the legit bosses are resistant to it. Goddamned moronic that Destined Death is fait when its the exact opposite in lore. Why gimp the cool shit?
Faith gives access to every damage type in the game. Some of incantations are much less convenient to use than spells, but overall it's as viable as int if you know what you're doing. Elden beast and all other large bosses get absolutely dumpstered by cum threads.
stick to 1 weapon if you're a tryhard homosexual that hardswaps everything, 2-4 slots if you're a normal person that likes some variety, and use all slots if you're autistic about being prepared and like to get frustrated
I depends on your inclination to role play. Like, my bleed based occult build has a "bloody executioner" theme going for it so it only uses crude looking weapons and largely uses the Shield Crash ash with the Spiked Palisade Shield as a primary mode of offence. A lot of my builds could just be considered "dex", "str", "faith" focussed and so on so there's some overlap in what's available to them but I like to give them limits so they work within their theme.
Like, I've got two builds that pump a lot of faith, but one is a pure pyromancy build with dual Giantsflame Seals while the other is holy oriented Templar looking guy and primarily heals through incantations. A lot of my characters have some degree of Faith investment too since all the different schools give you lots of room to make something thematic.
Basically, I get some idea in my head for a character, look at the sort of weapons and spells available that would fit it thematically and then work out how I want to distribute the stats from there.
Forgot to mention, you can also incorporate spirit summons as part of this role play so you're not using the same shit all the time. My magic knight uses the Raya Lucaria Soldiers, for instance.
>2 colossals for the weight of one >comes with a free HUGE AOE roar that pulls enemies towards you >follow-up does massive damage and has good range >immediately solves your lack of crowd control as a str build
Let me guess, you need more?
>pulls enemies towards you
Completely useless because crowds of enemies are never a challenge. It’s a boss rush game with some fodder in between. Anything that doesn’t help you deal with bosses is completely useless.
I'll keep an eye out for it next playthrough. I usually just go pure strength on my first playthrough of these games, but the beast spells needing such a small amount of faith to use, and the talisman scaling with strength made me decide to splash some faith into my build.
the meteorites are at the tail end of the game and only really serve as a cooler looking but worse alternative to comet azur cheese on bosses. they can CC nicely at least. the real good rock is the rock sling sorcery.
The problem with Str Fth, coming from someone who cleared the game as Str Fth, is as follows: >The only good weapon until the lategame is Golden Halberd >Once the good Str Fth weapons all roll in you only have like 5 bosses to try them out against before NG+ >All the Holy weapons sucl ass against the endgame bosses
So I hope you like Golden Vow, Flame Grant Me Strength and Blasphemous Blade. It's a good strat, but it's like one of the only meta strats for Str-Fth unless you wanna meme with the bubble horns.
We get some fun toys but they're a little limited in variety and usefulness.
Most players have never seen the golden order greatsword.
Golden order greatsword is super fricking cool, my absolute favorite, and i'm mad that it's not very good.
would pure dex bandit curved swords lightning infused do any good end game? I don't want to do bleed. they're pretty nice right now.
They would, but you could also go keen and manually lightning buff them for even more damage.

No, I liked the game. But I don't like NG+, so I just do a new playthrough.
Doesn't take away the fact that holy damage is less viable than others
its not worth playing more than once
Elden Ring isn't worth playing more than once. The level design in the proper games was concise and interesting enough to make going through NG+ fun with your completed build.
In Elden Ring if you have nothing to really upgrade then 95% of the game is LITERALLY pointless and meandering.
It's actually the most replayable souls game by far because it has the most quality content, and also plenty of lower quality side content. >speedrun shit copy paste dungeon for 5 minutes
>run to the next for 10 minutes
>clear for 5 minutes
Crafting was a mistake.
Gonna be real with you guys. The reason why you don't think it's replayable is two reasons:
>your first playthrough was 200+ hours which is way more than the first playthroughs of any other souls game meaning you got multiple playthroughs worth in the first one
>you are waiting for the DLC as an excuse to jump back in the game
That's it. The rest is BS. I've had IRL friends who never replayed a single fromsoft game parrot how they don't want to replay and I'm wondering suddenly that's the most important metric for this game.
no souls game is fun going through ng+ entirely fresh runs has always been the way to go
Dark Souls 2 was.
dark souls 2 let me make certain zones into ng+ so i never had to go through ng+, all these games are fricking trash because whats the most fun is the sense of progression your character gets not running through a boss gauntlet.
trash in ng+
It really isn't though, and I think it's a great game. Every subsequent playthrough I've tried, NG+ or not, has felt extremely hollow compared to other From games.
>playing ER more than once
wouldn't do it even if you paid me. this ubisoft abortion was bad enough in one playthrough.
only real Souls games are made for multiple playthroughs.
>bosses resist holy from 40 to staggering 80%
Shit, really? Im running holy on my main weapon
The final two (/three) bosses are all massively holy resistant, you wont do shit all damage to them.
I usually just switch to the brick hammer, take vow and jump smash their faces.
Can I use lightning or is faith fricked?
lightning damage spells frick, hard
the problem with it is is that on weapons, lightning scales with dex
Going Dex/Fth mostly so thankfully that's no problem
Lightning is fine, fire is best
even some faith options are fine.
Black Flame or Black Knife/Black Blade are very powerful against any boss
Rpg
Best weapons are at 90% main quest line
Get weapon
Beat final boss
The end
Dont get to enjoy the weapon
Many such cases
At some point devs need to understand that most gear should be aquireable pre 50% game completion and the other 50% should focus on getting enchantments up upgrade
I remember playing OG Fable on the huegBox and killing the heros sister so i could get the Sword of Aeons just to be greeted with the fricking credits and not be able to use it.
weapons are fine
My issue is Malenia's great rune is useless, she's end game and you can't carry over to NG
GOG is pure kino but is right
I played it repeatedly, using the GOG in fact. Two of them once I got the second one. But it's still annoying to get, you have to be pretty far into the game to get to the snowfields.
Moonlight
>shoots horizonal slashes of moonlight
>they have no tracking and are somehow sidestepped easily by enemies
Why did they make the moonlight greatsword so bad in this?
I thought they’ve buffed the tracking
They fixed the tracking on slopes. Before they would always go horizontally.
You can use it more than 4 times without your weapon breaking. Be grateful.
But the weapon is fricking OP as frick what are you smoking?
remember when MLGS had AOE?
both shit.
Large Club™ on the other hand... now this is a weapon to slay a god!

>clearly ported from a different, low fantasy style of game
tool-set and the absolutely batshit insane stuff bosses can do?
Not in any Souls game not called Dark Souls 3.
>Not in any Souls game not called Dark Souls 3.
Artorias my man.
also King Allant to some extent. hell, even Gwyn moves much quicker than the player and has insane gap closers.
>It was this way in Dark Souls 3 as well and it's even worse here. Godfry does WWE moves and shakes the earth, Maliketh leaps around like an acrobat, Malenia and Mohg can fly, Placidusax teleports, the list goes on
you'd rather them make 50 different types of Asylum Demon like in DS1? fromsoft gotta keep this genre fresh and harder, because veterans can get through souls games with eyes closed, if this makes you feel weird, then you don't want to think of what they will make for Elden Ring 2 or whatever they frick they are gonna make after Armored Core
You aren't very good at reading.
>another dodge + R1 homosexual complaining
Nevermind you can use legendary weapons and mighty spells to shit magical fireworks in every direction or rupture the ground with sheer force.
>another dodge + R1 homosexual complaining
You spend too much time on here schizo. My problem isn't with the combat itself but how poorly it suits the game.
>You can Demon's Souls R1 with a legendary weapon
Wow, seriously impressive stuff buddy.
>might spells
Yeah I love shooting blue darts and throwing rocks. Dragon's Dogma has more grandiose spells despite the foes being more in line with what you'd fight in Dark Souls rather than Gods.
it suits the game well
you are just an autist. get help
>combat literally lifted from another game suits it well
You make me ashamed to be a fan of this game.
>powerful demigod shardbearers don't abide by the same physics rules that the tarnished does
kino
>absorb powers of several gods
>still just a dude with a three hit combo
That’s the opposite of kino
Implying you can defeat anything with unlimited training time (which tarnished canonically has)
Black person you get an ability from each of these demigods to do crazy stuff as well
>godrick
earthquakes with his axe
>rennala
throws moons at people
>radahn
Summon everyone to you and crush them
>morgott
summon exploding bood from your sword
>rykard
summon the dead to kill your enemies
>mogh
open a portal to the body of a god to throw its fiery blood at people
>malenia
YOU GET WATERFOWL AND THE FLOWER EXPLOSION
You get their awesome power, just because your regular attacks arent as flashy as the boss doesnt mean you cant do cool shit either. If i had to say an issue is that they havent implemented a way to navigate your spell list faster and let us just equip only one ash of war at a time, just let us have 4 and the current button opens a sub menu like the quick item use now has (do the same for the spell button, have multiple loadouts of 4 you can switch by pressing up). Now you could
>have a cool evasive move like quickstep or raven of the mists
>a cool buff
>a cool weapon technique
>some cool projectile
All together in the same weapon
>but then it will be easy
Just make the game even harder, instead of balancing around people having spirits balance around us having a full load out like that.
>it’s all locked in a weapon or a spell that you potentially is not built for
Pathetic
I guess all those so called gods were completely powerless without their swords
Im not sure what you are trying to say, besides the only way you get their weapons or spells is because you use their literal life essence to craft them with assistance of the erdtree, so the only reason you can replicate their shit is because you used their energy to do it so.
based bonk post

INT/FTH should have had way more support. Why is this the only weapon available for this build? How did they have an INT/FTH infusion available in Dark Souls 2 and 3 but not this game.
Because Elden Ring was released without proper direction or care for game balance. They just shoved shit in there and then launched it without regard for anything. Same problem DS3 had.
>Why is this the only weapon available for this build
Clayman harpoon and erdsteel dagger both work too when you infuse them
Sword of Sneed and Feed
pic related mogs them both
>the blacked swordman
>NOOOOOOO DON’T FRICK MY GIRLFRIEND IN FRONT OF ME AGAIN AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH
This latest chapter made Guts look so fricking pathetic.
please explain I don't have it in me to look at it anymore
>guts finally got casca to the elf island so she could resolve her mental issues
>they get help from the fairy queen, all seems well
>except she’s afraid to even look at guts
>time passes, griffith shows up
>fricks up the island and sinks it
>takes casca by force right in front of guts
>guts collapses into the fetal position
>island is getting fricked up, all the magical creatures are getting forcefully removed from the physical world and returned to the spirit realm
>guts is crying in the corner because he just got cucked again
What, Griffith showed up and raped Casca AGAIN? You're pulling my leg.
He didn’t rape her (so far), just kidnapped her and took her back to his kingdom. Again, while Guts could only watch.
>haha if i take his tomboy wife he'll HAVE to come back to me
what a gay boy, he has his castle on the hill but all he wants is his broken buck
It felt like a kick in the balls for readers, too.
>all that build up and payoff you’ve been waiting for?
>that goddamn boat ride and boring elf shenanigans?
>no frick you Griffith steals Casca anyway
Is it fricked up that the idea of Griffith showing up and just raping Casca moronic again right after they fixed her has me dying laughing? Holy shit imagine.
There is no reasons to doubt that source is actual close friend of Miura, however his motivation might be entirely different in reality, for example being approached by publisher with something like "hey you can assist us to save your friend life's work from being unfinished forever, you wouldn't wish that on him right, and look at all that cash".
seems like that was the way the story would naturally progress anyway since griffith apparently wants falconia to be the only safehaven left
>This latest chapter
Huh? I thought Miura died? Why would there still be new chapters
Apparently he had all the story notes finished and his team is continuing the manga. They’re not terrible at illustration, but you can tell it’s not going to be at Miura’s quality.
Oh okay then. Guess I'll continue reading then ty
You can't use holy weapons because half the bosses in the game have 80% holy resistence
mi amor
They took away the R2 overhead swing, it's just not the same.
No matter how many times I try not to use the bass cannon, it just doesn't work
For me, it's the Morning Star.
>looks cool
>fun moveset
>bleed
>available at the start of the game
It's a shame only one is available per playthrough.
Step aside
I prefer this one if we're talking INT colossals.
I have to play again, I didn't get this sword. I think
The troll knights drop it, either the spectral ones at the foot of the four belfries, or the one in the Carian Manor.
why the frick would you ever use that? it has one of the worst ashes in the entire fricking game because miyazaki is a dumb fricking Black person
Its value is in invasions when you roar players off a ledge/elevator. Then it becomes one of your favorite ashes ever.
i prefer the gold version, you can put lion's claw on it and still get the overhead swing on r2
>golden order
>doesnt have int/fth scaling
This game dropped the fricking ball with multiple-scaling weapons. Should've had one for death sorcs too
golden order greatsword is outclassed by the blasphemous blade and the magma wyrm sword.
There never was one.
Elden ring did my bro dirty. Quality builds just don't hit like they used to.
Use two longswords, throw in the mist ash of war and all the jumping buffs
pure INT is for gay homosexuals but Golden Order is ruined by the DEX requirement. It should have been like the Coded Sword, nothing but FTH. Or it could have been a fricking FTH/INT weapon which matches the backstory of the thing
FTH and INT/DEX makes perfect sense since Dex increases cast speed so it goes well. Its Str + Fth thats fricked.
I miss DS3 where STR actually had another effect. Honestly to make it mix with FTH there is an easy solution, have STR give you a certain amount of Poise while casting spells/incantations
>Its Str + Fth thats fricked
STR/FTH at least gets a seal that scales off of your STR.
STR/INT is the real fricked since there's no STR scaling staff and STR doesn't otherwise help your sorceries in any way.
small indie studio please understand
Anchor.
Preferably two.
>Its a great axe
>But its Pierce damage
>Making it the best axe weapon in the game simply because of counter damage
Why the frick did they put in a special effect for stabbing, but not for anything else, like axes/blunts could rend armor or something.
>equip in both arms
>spear talisman
>jumping talisman
>great jar talisman for extra weight
>dragon shield talisman for max sponge
>bull goat armor for max poise
>flame incantation for extra str
Incoming one tap for almost any mage and low hp Black folk
You forgot royal knight's resolve.
Faith gets a few things at the start, then absolutely sweet fricking all until the end game where everything is holy resistant.
>kill basic b***h godrick soldier
>drops his sword
>slay his entire pantheon
that'll teach him to swing at me i'm the chosen undead 6
>Mogs every weapon in the game and it's not close
It's amazing.
>tfw dual wielding it with this badboy and melting everything
Both are so late in the game that its almost over.
Starscourge dual wield carried me through the game.
Not because its good, but because its fun.
Trannishills get the rope
My favorite bleed weapon. Melted Melania without summons or Great Runes, just don’t use the special half hazardly into a waterfowl
HAP=HAZARDLY
it's HAPHAZARDLY you absolute mong
oof. its a doggy dog world
Calm down bro, mistakes like that are a diamond dozen
Golden Kino Greatsword shares top spot of prettiest weapon with Godrick's Axe.
The holy damage disadvantage in the lategame is true but it's great for PvE as the skill knocks away enemies and easily shreds through groups.
>Golden Order Greatsword is literally just a Dark Moon Greatsword that was reskinned by Radagon
Uhh faithsisters?
Since it was given to him by Rennala it was actually the true Moonlight Greatsword, not Rannis gay one.
yes Radagon modified/forged his MLGS into the Golden Order Greatsword
My beloved.
I could have easily blown through the entire game with this as soon as I found it.
this thing is crazy
Is it worth dual wielding these?
Not unless you want to jump attack all day. If you want to use it to its potential just use one and make it Keen.
>it’s just the generic spear moveset
Goddamnit, Fromsoft. Why couldn’t they have made it some crazy double slashing combo?
But it doesn't have a spear moveset. Are you mistaking it for something else?
It has a nice R1 attack string, a good backstep hit, and an alright jumping attack
>Got one of these
>slapped rotating weapon on it
>buffed it with bloodflame
Absolutely moronic damage + bleed buildup
Oh my bad, you meant dual wielding it.
>keen scaling is so high it might be bugged
>big halberd poise damage
>move set is faster than halberds and even greatswords
>crazy good mounted moves
>buff it with blood flame or whatever you want
>you can put sword dance on it
>it drops from off mobs in babby areas
There are all kinds of easy modes in this game.
>magic, blue
>magic, yellow
Nightrider flail is really good if you're doing some kind of quality build. The L2 spin does crazy dpi, and has good reach in the normal combos that I sometimes find lacking in a lot of regular, non great/collasal weapons. Plus the attacks from horseback are awesome. You can also infuse it and buff it. But it's high requirement does kind of suck.
How much damage reduction is possible in Elden Ring? I used to max out adaptability in DS1 while wearing iron flesh, tranquil walk of peace, and stone guardian set.
>adaptability
I meant to say Resistance.
Not much, damage mitigation is just about your level rather than armor/buffs/ect
I think physical can reach just past 50% with armor and crab meat buff. Elemental damage can go to like 70 or 80% with elemental dragon talismans, the physick tear and the buff incantations
Armor doesn't matter at all outside heavy sets having super-armor. Just level Vigor.
>Want to play ER again
>Cant choose between pure Str, pure dex, int, fth or int/fth
FRICK
I wish they would show us the DLC trailer so I can pick based on what tidbits they tempt us with
>I wish they would show us the DLC trailer
I felt the same way about Sekiro.
blame activison
Elden Ring is the Dark Souls 3 of souls after Demon's Souls
Elden Ring desperately needs a new game + mode where you can start over with your equipment but reset your level. Some weapons like Marika's hammer just feel pointless. You get it from the very last boss, and then you restart with it on new game + where really you use would curb stomp (especially if you upgraded it). I'm sure that would frick the online up even more than it is already, but I don't mind just playing offline where I can experiment around with different builds. Hell, add in a randomizer.
FROM forgetting the best idea from dark souls 2 (more content in new NG+ cycles) is a true travesty. It could've made doing NG+ in their recent souls style games actually interesting, alas.
>forgetting
have you not noticed how unfinished the game is? Do you think they forgot about covenants too?
The reason I said forgetting is because since Dark Souls 2 none of the souls style games have new shit on NG+ cycles.
Again, do you think they forgot?
Dark Souls 3 cut content is a completely different ballpark from what I'm talking about, but I get your point. Why does FROM keep cutting so much finished content is the real question.
>Why does FROM keep cutting so much finished content is the real question.
Because no one at that studio knows management.
Instead they just make tons of junk then cut away what isn't functional so they can put it in another game later once it's finished.
From also forgot how spell parry worked in 2 that actually made it useful and made it completely worthless in both 3 and ER.
Infinite NG+ is absolutely fricking moronic, especially since it fricks you for online. One NG+ with new content would actually get people to replay and move forward with the game.
I just use the giantslaying hammer. Sure, people good at pvp can just dance on me, but smashing homosexuals never gets old.
*TOOT*
I just didnt feel like changing equipment.
the true murderhobo experience
this but as a samurai
didnt mean to take the weeb pill but it chose me
I think I've fallen down this same path.
Demon's Souls bros, we got this.
>Demake
Did the seamless co-op mod desync issues ever get fixed?
I plan to do a dex/faith run on my ng+, I know I'll bz using the bolt of grandsex but is there a dex oriented faith weapon or should I take something like rapier and enchant it?
Eclipse Shotel and Treespear have FTH/DEX scaling. If I'm not mistaken, so does the Golden Order Greatsword.
Golden Order Greatsword is more fun
>But the holy resistance
I don't care and it didn't stop me. Quit your b***hing
There's no reason for Holy damage to be so bad as it is. Dark/Hex died for this garbage.
I'm surprised we don't still have dark damage with the death sorceries.
>Some Death Sorceries are Magic
>Some talk about dealing Frost but don't
>There's literally one decent spell and one good weapon for the entire "school" of magic
It is completely fine outside of the last stretch of bosses which you can easily get around since fire scales with faith
where are godslayer chads?
i kneel
there is no debate
Anglosaxon bro, you warm my heart every time I see you in ER threads
you're welcome 🙂
Didn’t choose. Powerstanced them because it felt like they belonged together. Mother-daughter swords. Plus it reminded me of Pontiff Sulyvahn.
Next I want to dual wield Sacred Relic Swords. God wielder mode
Another fun build that I really like
>flame buff
>bloodlfame buff
>blood talisman
>scarlet rot knight talisman
>great jar talisman
>dragon shield talisman
>bonus: flask with str and fire buff
Run and roll catch every single time, or spam R1 for infinite stagger and bleed build
Most don’t even die to the bleed just the fire
Forgot pic
I did that but with a heavy great stars and slapped wild swings on it.
Completely trivialized most of the game, fricking loved it.
It’s just luck
Always equip throwing knives and spam that b***h
The knife always lands before the heal
Is bleed/frostbite katana combo still good? I kind of want to start a Samurai playthrough where I immediately rush the second Uchi, then immediately go to Liurnia to grab a frostbite AoW.
Should I do that, or make them Keen?
You should consider suicide
I know. But I just did a Blasphemous WA spam playthrough and I want something different.
Yeah just grab 2 of them and make them both frost.
Or, grab any katana, make it frost, then grab the meteoric ore katana and go dex/int
Why did people sleep on War Cry/Barbaric Roar so long?
soulsgays are historically moronic and adverse to trying new things
It really only works on morons who are stupid enough to try and trade with you
you can force trade situations easily because of how fast the super armor activates
wrong
oops, wrong webm
Out. Fricking. Skilled.
It's tied to bad weapons and is a weak buff.
Because the hyper armor didn't even work for a good five months.
It sucked in das3.
because it used to suck
Dark Moon is easily a better weapon. Goldy has to do this stupid T pose animation on every swing and it gets you killed.
for me? its moonveil
No love for the Zweihander?
It's good but I have a hard time justifying using it over the great sword in most cases
>boss is riposted
>gets deleted by the L2 combo
Are they done patching their unfinished content yet? I still need to finish this.
Doesn't help I never found a weapon I enjoyed using.
greatswords are shit in elden meme, the trash moveset is catching up to the weapon types because they keep increasing the speed onf the enemies in every new game so the old slowshit swings don't cut it anymore for the sake of proper combat flow
>greatswords are shit
lmao
Not him but they are. No reason to bother with them when light weapons + Bleed or casting any magic is faster/stronger.
seamless coop & randomizer with friends is genuinely some of the most fun ive had with a game in awhile
>try game out after a year
>Go follow the grace light or whatever it's called
>Get punished
>Okay I'll explore
>Go to lake
>Get punished
>Decide frick it and look up guide
>Game is much more enjoyable
>Come to notice that no fricking npc actually tells you where to go or what to do like in the previous games
>The fricking moron who warns you about the dragon at the lake is in a area which you need to go through the lake to get too
I like the game but holy frick the direction of it is fricking abysmal
You can drop down to him from the other side without going through the lake.
I prefer actually good games.
Pic not related?
stop shilling your voice1/voice2 game, buy a fricking ad
I hope you’re memeing
>blatently stealing the visuals
Not supporting that obvious bait but lol at this stupid post
But Liurna is already in the game.
oh look another crusader
how based and red pilled anon
Faith is a dog shit stat and all the legit bosses are resistant to it. Goddamned moronic that Destined Death is fait when its the exact opposite in lore. Why gimp the cool shit?
It's the price for being cool.
Faith gives access to every damage type in the game. Some of incantations are much less convenient to use than spells, but overall it's as viable as int if you know what you're doing. Elden beast and all other large bosses get absolutely dumpstered by cum threads.
What debate?
bloodborne moonlight greatsword mogs all over variations of it
Ashes of war a mistake
I miss unique weapons like the breakdancing sword
Unique weapon arts still exist
you know there are unique weapons where you can't change the ash right?
Does anyone actually use all 3 (6) equipment slots? Everyone seems to like sticking to one weapon in particular.
Managing 3 in both slots and having the stats/upgrades and equip load for them all is a pain.
Usually I use 4 but not more than that. 4 (2 in each row) are easy to manage but 6 is a pain.
stick to 1 weapon if you're a tryhard homosexual that hardswaps everything, 2-4 slots if you're a normal person that likes some variety, and use all slots if you're autistic about being prepared and like to get frustrated
I use 2 in each row at most. 3 is just annoying to deal with
I use all 3 of my left hand slots because I have a shield, a seal, and a second sword.
Paladins get all the b***hes
>Have all the character slots filled out
>Haven't exhausted all the builds I wanted to make
10 is too little in this game
>Haven't exhausted all the builds I wanted to make
Can you list some examples. I can’t think of many builds that wouldn’t be a waste of time tbh
>2 colossals for the weight of one
>comes with a free HUGE AOE roar that pulls enemies towards you
>follow-up does massive damage and has good range
>immediately solves your lack of crowd control as a str build
Let me guess, you need more?
>pulls enemies towards you
Completely useless because crowds of enemies are never a challenge. It’s a boss rush game with some fodder in between. Anything that doesn’t help you deal with bosses is completely useless.
>Completely useless
then why did you die at least a dozen times to that attack from radahn? checkmate
the suck? it does almost no damage
>the weapon is bad because of my playstyle
wrong and you're a moron
it actually sucks Malenia in and can frick her up pretty badly
>rolls
>jump hit to stagger (you)
Nothing personal
OH N-
did Sword of Milos get fixed yet or is it still irredeemable dogshit?
mohg sucks
*fricks Ranni*
Nothing personnel, but who do you have, Faithchuds? Marika- I mean Radagon?
yeah. mad?
Nah, she's too voluptuous. You seen that ass? Even Radagon is cheeked up. I like em scrungly, like myself.
puppetfrickers wish they could compete
I never encountered him in my playground. You have my attention. Maybe in NG+... I seek him out this time
Don't. The ending is copypasted sit on throne with 1 line of dialogue. Not worth it. No cutscene for it unlike madness or Ranni.
the real reward for goldmasks quest is premium coomer garb
*aham*
My guiding moonlight.
I like faith because beastguy gave me a big rock I can throw at people.
you got gipped on the rocks anon
I'll keep an eye out for it next playthrough. I usually just go pure strength on my first playthrough of these games, but the beast spells needing such a small amount of faith to use, and the talisman scaling with strength made me decide to splash some faith into my build.
the meteorites are at the tail end of the game and only really serve as a cooler looking but worse alternative to comet azur cheese on bosses. they can CC nicely at least. the real good rock is the rock sling sorcery.
Unfortunate that it seems to be a showpiece spell, with some niche uses. At least rock sling seems like it'll be a good one to use in general.
find a flaw.
dex/int instead of int/fth like the spells are
The problem with Str Fth, coming from someone who cleared the game as Str Fth, is as follows:
>The only good weapon until the lategame is Golden Halberd
>Once the good Str Fth weapons all roll in you only have like 5 bosses to try them out against before NG+
>All the Holy weapons sucl ass against the endgame bosses
So I hope you like Golden Vow, Flame Grant Me Strength and Blasphemous Blade. It's a good strat, but it's like one of the only meta strats for Str-Fth unless you wanna meme with the bubble horns.
We get some fun toys but they're a little limited in variety and usefulness.
>You get to slay gods
>A godslaying sword exists
>You're not using it
Explain why? Anti-divine olympic torch is the way to go.
