You have no standards. It's among the worst outside of the heavily scripted villain interactions and main quests. The game is empty and boring.
how is New Dawn?
It's alright. The super scary black women that make /vpol/ piss their panties are villains and you kill them.
The main problem is ND starts the pseudo-RPG nonsense with gear levels and enemies that don't get one-shot with headshots that Far Cry 6 was plagued with.
Every always says ubisoft got mad at how people love the songs...but I never saw any outrage and ubisoft glady charge money for the full album.
most underrated song
They probably cut off comments (protip: any channel with "Band or composer name - Topic" has comments disabled by default because it's not a real channel) after the militaristic cult songs got a lot of low IQ SIEG HEIL MEIN KAMPF 1488 GAS THE BIKES RACE TRACK NOW DRUMPFTTTTT 2024 bot comments. Nobody wants that shit.
Ubislop game but it's unironically good. The map actually feels like a SHTF scenario with all the fights the NPCs get into rather than the whole map just be static outposts and generic patrols with the occasional gunfight.
Also >joseph sneed
Watch 30 seconds of the two antagonist girls talking and you'll have your answer its shit.

It was OK. I liked that there's a cameo and some more connection to 5 but it wasn't as good as a full package as 5 was.
Fucking ass. Weapon freedom is gimped because of the tier system. General freedom is gimped because of the level system. Expeditions are about the best part but overall I wouldn't recommend it.
Better than the DLC but not worth playing for anything other than for expeditions. Expeditions are easily the best side feature of any of these games and I wish they could just retroactively port them to 5, especially knowing that 6 completely ruined them into a battery babysitting always online live service - lite trashfest.
One thing I prefer New Dawn is how it starts you in the corner and lets you spread out. It's a lot better than starting in the middle and getting lambasted by phone calls and character introductions simply for crossing a border you didn't know existed 5 minutes into free roaming. Sort of a shame though, because they more than likely did that not to overwhelm the player but because it's got psuedo RPG mechanics where enemies are stronger (spongier) the farther out you go. The actual post-nuclear world is just as nice but the story is sort of boring with how lame the villains are. They're just dicks because their father was a dick and the way Far Cry villain formula works means if you give 0 shits about the villain then it's purely grating and annoying wastes of time.
Game journos were mad that the player was the antagonist in the end. YT/Ubi started to disable comments on some of the music because they were too in favor of 'right wing' life.

They wanted to genuinely make good songs to make the cultists feel like more than just wacky antagonists, something to empathize with
Then they did a pikachu face when actual right wingers got very excited in their comements. Honestly it’s probably just Dev team vs HR/Advertising
I'm not. I generally enjoyed it, just wish it wasn't rushed like all Far Cry games to where we could have had a more interactive and intricate world to play in. Like being able to actually work with one of the factions and not have them both try to kill you during missions. I understand why they took the approach they did, the whole point is that your character is a pawn in a proxy war between the UFLL and the APR, so they both have to keep it secret they're employing you.
FC2 is my favorite but I don't think anyone can say it has a great soundtrack. The menu and credits theme are great and some of those exploration melodies stay in your head but it's a pretty forgettable OST.
But that's okay, because it's not a movie game. You should be getting caught up in gunfights and the ambient sounds and sights of Africa, not have an orchestra blare in your ears every second or so.
I geniunely enjoy the soundtrack for all it's worth, I just wish it could have a more dynamic method for gunfights in particular. If you fire a shot into the dirt, it still plays the combat theme for a few seconds, even if you're just doing target practice at the Bar. It ruins immersion somewhat, it would be better to have made combat music only start when the enemy actually knows you're there. I also wish they had added a music volume setting, it's hard to hear all the talking between enemies with combat music on.
I do that sometimes, depends on if I'm trying to focus or not. Music is great for exploration, but sometimes it's nice to turn it off and listen to the ambience. Especially around the jungle in Pala region.
It sticks to orchestral with african drums instead of inserting skrillex(3), some indian music(4), or LIVING LA VIDA LOCA (6) in set pieces, so it doesn't get as much mainstream attention. Plus everyone sucks at videogames and got filtered by malaria (press the heal button every 30-180 minutes, wowee) and guns jamming (git gud).
>make christian cult as the villain >make them actually right
what did ubisoft mean by this
Still my favorite Far Cry villain. Dude genuinely felt remorseful for his actions and owned up to his mistakes in funding the wars in Africa. He was jaded and probably a little of kilter after the incident on the island, and makes a huge amount of mistakes funding the wars because he's so fucked mentally from all he's experienced. Then he has a turnaround after seeing all the pain and suffering he's inflicting on those around him.
The cult is not explicitly Christian. The protagonist's gang are ordinary Montana rural folks, i.e. Christians. One of the first allies you make is literally a priest.
He wasn’t and he didn’t, the people that say he was are larping zoomers that fell for the “keep your rifle by your side” meme. Most of the people in the game knew the bombs were going to fall, there are bunkers and preppers all over Hope county. After Dutch saves you at the beginning he takes you to his. Play the game.

None of them expected that to happen, at least not in the timeframe Joseph was saying it will fall. That part of America has a lot of prepper bunkers a bit as a hobby and a bit as remnants of the cold war. It must be an even split by now of blue-collar Montanans and outsiders blue-collar or otherwise. There's a reason why the people you meet are concerned about Peggie recruitment. >they’re owners were murdered by the Peggie’s
Only some of them, and the fact that none of the others were preparing easier access before you came along and solved the pepper puzzles imply that they were caught with their pants down when the bombs fell like Joseph said it would. The keyword is recruitment. They were worried of their blue-collar neighbors being converted to follow the cult. Both sides of the conflict had blue-collar Hope County residents.
The prepper bunkers weren't meant to be used by the people you meet. Most of the people you're fighting with didn't believe in Joseph's words, hence they were just chilling on the outside and not prepping. The prep bunkers you see are far too small to accommodate the entire valley, there was no way they thought bombs were falling. New Dawn mentioned that only a few managed to scramble to the bunkers while most perished because they weren't expecting bombs and thus weren't near a bunker. If they were expecting the same bombs they'd repurpose the Seed bunkers with all the materiel and supplies they've been collecting to actually survive the bomb.

The anti-cult were mostly skeptic blue-collars. It took years for the Pegs to stay around and recruit more susceptible ones, we entered Hope Valley after a lot of them has been converted.
And the local residents just weren't ready for it. The bunkers you dive into are full of random shit that shows just that. Flooded bunkers, fucked up electrical wiring everywhere, and blackouts just to name a few. Dutch and the guy up north used their bunkers as guerrilla bases because they were fortified, but they didn't expect Joseph to be right. Otherwise, they wouldn't be so stupid to just fiddle around, thumbs up their butt while their bunkers deteriorate from the problems already mentioned, nor would they be stupid enough to run a hospital for the sick and wounded in an exposed, above-ground prison if they thought bombs are going to fall. You're telling me they're pushing their hospital beds to the individual bunkers? Most of them are so cramped they don't even fit one gurney.
It's left unclear intentionally. The fake ad breaks between songs on the radio include news segments talking about rising tensions between the US and some other countries.

You're telling me they're pushing their hospital beds to the individual bunkers? Most of them are so cramped they don't even fit one gurney.
It's left unclear intentionally. The fake ad breaks between songs on the radio include news segments talking about rising tensions between the US and some other countries.
oblivion is better
I don't know how Ubishit managed to come up with this kino game
>From the West shall rise
>A sinister creed
>The rich will get what they want
>The poor will lose what they need
What did they mean by this?
Are you just going to comment to no one acting smug to save face and make it look like you weren’t btfo and tried using every desperate cope in you had? If I was wrong you wouldn’t be doing this
I haven't heard anything other than keep your rifle by your side
Is the rest of the OST good?
John is good, and the Hope County resistance theme is pretty good. My personal favorite is The Ballad of Clutch Nixon.
Out of the sung ones, I like Let the Water Wash Away Your Sins, Now He's Our Father, Set Those Sinners Free and Oh, John! other than Rifle
The map ambience song is also a good comfy one
Its hard seeing a legit schizo these days, but looks like they still exist
Who are you talking to?
