I know the second half went through some troubles but I have no idea why the frick did the writers decided to give the main cast almost zero agency in the plot
even WC11 figured that out and said "uhh maybe we should make those two big story segments actually important for our characters", as flimsy as the whole thing was
No, the MC is the present one who gets amnesia, the villain is the one from the future who won. That's the whole reason the kids are escaping from the shit future, to warn their parents
Could be always worse.
Like the way Gothic 4 Arcania raped the main hero.
For 3 games, you go around helping the prison colony, island of people and then mainland.
You become a hero, champion of the people.
In fourth game your character is somehow crowned a king, becomes tyrannical and starts killing people, becoming sorta the main antagonist.
Disgraceful.
Oh, I forgot to mention.
Main character is some random fisherman whose girlfriends gets killed by King's soldiers.
You don't get to even play as your previous character.
Absolute disgrace.
How was that even resolved? >villain: "I'm from the future where humans are galactic space nazis so I'm going to destroy you all here in the past" >humans: "no you wont" >*humans kill villain* >humans: "hooray!" >credits roll
>recurring villain is the original, evil version of the main character >the actual main character is a mistake that lives outside of fate >main villain is another version of the main character who's pitting the main character and the original version of the main character against each other >mysterious rival who both helps and competes with the main character is another version of the main character and he shows up during the final encounter to save the day
>the evil versions of the protagonists are the originals >the protagonists are the fakes >you cuck the original version of yourself so hard that his lover chooses to kill herself and give her original body to your lover instead
>The only reason the world was able to unite together in peace was because they united to kill the person who was preventing everyone from uniting in the first place
The original game I think is great but does take a little bit to pick up. Characters are charming, writing is very solid, game gets incredibly hype. Do keep in mind it is a degen porn game so there will be some weird shit going on
The sequel made in RPGmaker I feel doesn't have writing as good as the original but if you wanna get incredibly autistic over building parties it lets you go absolutely nuts
It's worth your time for sure

There's a remastered version some guys came out with a bit ago that fixes some qol issues. I'd recommend going with that, should be easy enough to find on a google search
>main villain dies in the first game >comes back in the second game by possessing another person’s body >isn’t defeated until the 4th game >at the very end it’s revealed the villain has been dead this entire time and the guy was just pretending to be possessed
>main protagonist receives powers and weapon from friend of the (future) past version of the main protagonist he got from killing the (past) future version of the main protagonist
>Random NPC is the main villain of the previous game living a peaceful life after their defeat >Shit goes down in their town >Heh, guess you can't teach an old dog new tricks after all...
Name one game that isn't infamous
Infamous
Frick
bioshock infinite
thats an alternate dimension
Danny Phantom
yugioh 5ds
in the alternate reality where the second half of 5Ds had balls maybe
instead we get a fanboy posing as him
This still would have been 100% fine with me if he actually used a junk deck instead of the gay timelord shit
They definitely fricked the ending on this one. It could have been so much better. Big bad should have been Yusei or Jack

who are the two qts on the left?
One's from a Tag Force
One's from Over the Nexus
I think they realized they had already done it in GX so they changed course.
It still would've been better if it was actually Yusei from the future.
Any game that I uninstall before I beat, thus leaving the bad guy to win.
Jackie chan
Trails of haha
Raidou
LEGO Movie 2 The Videogame
Lightyear (2022)
the video game
Final Fantasy VIII
MEGAS XLR
bring it back pleaseeeeeeeee
What a great finale after an otherwise weaker Season 2
Jackie Chan
Tales of Xillia 2
Tales of Xillia 2
Witcher 1, sort of.
Bioshock infamous
axiom verge
Fire Emblem Awakening
Wasn't it the opposite in Awakening?
The MC is from the future and the villain is evil version in the present
No, the MC is the present one who gets amnesia, the villain is the one from the future who won. That's the whole reason the kids are escaping from the shit future, to warn their parents
MegaMan II
Fire Emblem Engage.
Virtues last reward
Fate/stay night
King of the Hill
Every game withy Buzz Lightyear in it :^)
Nier, kinda
Could be always worse.

Damn, it sounds like it could have been kino if done right.
Oh, I forgot to mention.
Main character is some random fisherman whose girlfriends gets killed by King's soldiers.

Absolute disgrace.
This makes me angry and I don't even know what the game is
I just looked it up and the first hero is possessed. Not the same thing
>The thread is garbage
>The main villain is just some guy trying to prevent the main character from becoming an evil version of the main character in the future
name one (1) game
Wonderful 101
How was that even resolved?
>villain: "I'm from the future where humans are galactic space nazis so I'm going to destroy you all here in the past"
>humans: "no you wont"
>*humans kill villain*

It won't happen for 10000 years, not my problem
Spellforce The Order of Dawn
A person of good taste in games. I loved the Spellforce 1 and 2. Was a blast.
EarthBound?
>Main villain is your son who just wants you to come back
>the past version of the main villain is tagging up with the main character to prevent themselves from becoming evil
ff8
>Your best friend is you from the future and you must beat him in 1 on 1 combat.
Bioshock infinite?
Shh don't spoil the ending of Lightyear
>The villain wanted to to good but became evil, so he's not a bad guy come on guys trust me
Is it just me or is that trope kinda sick?
>>The main villain is a good version of the main character from the future
any games like this?
>recurring villain is the original, evil version of the main character
>the actual main character is a mistake that lives outside of fate
>main villain is another version of the main character who's pitting the main character and the original version of the main character against each other
>mysterious rival who both helps and competes with the main character is another version of the main character and he shows up during the final encounter to save the day
N, Grahf and who?
Are there any games where I choose to join the villain for being based?
>The main villain the main character from the present.
>the evil versions of the protagonists are the originals
>the protagonists are the fakes
>you cuck the original version of yourself so hard that his lover chooses to kill herself and give her original body to your lover instead
>the most powerful guy in the whole story is the joke character
this one's my favorite
Off the top of my head I can only think of FF14 and TWEWY
There’s also Sans from Undertale.
Smiling Jack from Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines.
And the spider from Asura’s Wrath.
Technically the Mayor from Pokemon Colosseum
Does kefka count?
he does pretty nasty shit early on
>Villain is just extremely racist
The real heroes
shut up old hag
>Does literally everything wrong
She's the only reason that the world was able to unite together in peace
She made Luka's dream a reality
>The only reason the world was able to unite together in peace was because they united to kill the person who was preventing everyone from uniting in the first place
Is this game any good? I keep seeing people post about it.
The original game I think is great but does take a little bit to pick up. Characters are charming, writing is very solid, game gets incredibly hype. Do keep in mind it is a degen porn game so there will be some weird shit going on

Hardly. He literally wanted actual equality instead of one specific race being singled out for genocide every so often.
Wasn't that the twist in the Lego Movie 2
>main villain dies in the first game
>comes back in the second game by possessing another person’s body
>isn’t defeated until the 4th game
>at the very end it’s revealed the villain has been dead this entire time and the guy was just pretending to be possessed
Bravo Kojimbo
>main protagonist receives powers and weapon from friend of the (future) past version of the main protagonist he got from killing the (past) future version of the main protagonist
>Everyone is a villain
>Main villain does something so irredeemably fricked up that everyone gangs up on his ass
is a villain
>>Main character does something so irredeemably fricked up that everyone gangs up on his ass
>Wins anyways
Games that do these?
Well the latter one's picture is Soul Nomad and the World Eaters
Can't think of something for the former.
Appreciate it anon I'll have to check it out.
>Main villain is just the main character
>Manipulate all sides to give yourself the best results
>main villain is the main hero of the previous game after falling to the bad ending
>main villain is the main hero of the previous game after falling to the GOOD ending
>Random NPC is the main villain of the previous game living a peaceful life after their defeat
>Shit goes down in their town
>Heh, guess you can't teach an old dog new tricks after all...
problem?
>main villain was actually the hero all along
