The more I think about it, the less I want a DMC6. So many properties get sequels they don't need, so many have been ruined because of it. It seems like nowadays everything is about stretching as much time out of the player as possible. I'm glad we got a game which actually dared to do only what it needed to do as best it could and deliver a complete package with no loose ends or fodder content. I wish there were more AAA games like this nowadays.

It's Capcom you're talking about, bro. You will need to suck a full line of japanese dick in order for a DMC6 game to even be considered
Look at Monster Hunter World, that game sold fricking gangbusters. A sequel with full crossplay AND the strong brand name made by the sucess of MHW would print so much cash it's unbelievable, but... Capcom ain't doing that. Any other company would have announced a sequel as soon as Iceborne dropped to be launched on next gen to make a billion, but Capcom will sleep on that until people forget MHW exists and it's brand strenght dies out
Capcom only releases a game on the basis of crying, seething, campaining, and backstage dicksucking. Look at how much crying was necessary for DMC6 and Dragons Dogma 2. The only exception to that rule is Resident Evil
I remember seeing in another thread an anon describing Capcom as more of a boutique dev despite their size. Nowadays they don't put every single cent they own into one single game like how much they spent on RE6, they spread themselves enough so that multiple properties are allowed some breathing room.
Didn't they make that one Switch Monster Hunter after this?
Honestly I agree, it's the ultimate game.
I would prefer that they updated it with even more stuff like more weapons, Co-op BP, Divergence mode, Playable Lady/Trish, more costumes etc.
At least we got Vergil.
Regardless, I’m just happy Dante and Nero got one more shot and proved that they and the series was worth something, even for a bit. But a 6th game that gives Nero new weapon would be nice. and a casino level
Yeah. Literally how the frick is there no official co op or character selector after beating each difficulty. Also must style and god must die would nice too.
I would rather for they take DD2 as foundation and make an open world sci-fi ARPG.
The base groundwork is all there anyway. Something post apocalyptic/cyberpunk with vocations being ranged weaponry of various kinds, technomancy, melee weaponry of various kinds,...
Why'd he do it bros?
You obviously know that having one kilometer square of grass ground texture, with some bushes and trees placed randomly, is mileages easier to do than the same space but on a sci-fi environment, right? There's the question of artistic style first, then you have a frickton of materials more to fill the space with, you have to think about how people will move there, how combat will work on that space... Open world scifi is way harder
>powerful demi gods show up to just to say "sup" and monsters kill themselves.
Very based.
DMC5 was a huge hit. There will absolutely be more DMC. They're letting Itsuno dick around with Dragon's Dogma as a retirement gift but they're going to make more DMC. They don't hate money THAT much.
>They're letting Itsuno dick around with Dragon's Dogma as a retirement gift
Since Nero is his baby, do you reckon 6 will drop him and concentrate on Vergil and Dante in hell?
>tfw 6 a new director will want a soft reboot made for new players
>more walkie talkie segments and simplified combat
They'll make a new protagonist and Nero will have the kind of role Dante had in DMC4/5.
>They'll make a new protagonist and Nero will have the kind of role Dante had in DMC4/5.
They are absolutely not making a Danteless game.
DMC 6 will be about Vergil and Dante's escapades in Hell culminating in a race between the two for the throne of the King of Hell.
I would rather dmc6 be a prequel
DMC V sucked and your subconscious is totally aware of how outdated every mechanics in this game series really are and thus why you sound so depressed.
I work for Capcom and DMC6 is already in the works, here's a basic outline of the plot.
>new sidekick is Nero's mom
>she's pissed because Virgil knocked her up, fricked off, and owes her tons of child support
>she attacks Dante because she mistakes him for Virgil, doesn't quite believe that he's Virgil's twin brother (Virgy never brought it up while he was stuffing her like a turkey)
>Dante goes off to find Virgil to prove his innocence, the butthole has gone missing AGAIN
>Nero's mom tags along because she's suspicious that Dante is pulling a fast one
>at the end of the game they find Virgil hiding out from his baby mama in Mexico
>he argues that because he and Dante are identical twins, that means that Dante is technically Nero's dad too
>while they're trying to figure out if that makes sense he backflips onto a motorbike, gives them the finger and drives off into the sunset while screaming "I'LL NEVER PAY CHILD SUPPOOOOOOOORT!"
Absolutely fricking based
Total cringe
Sure you do Black person, now tell me the plot of mega man x9
>The last major living franchise in an almost dead genre should end because "muh fitting conclusion"
Frick off storygays. Some of us actually enjoy playing these games regularly and want more of them. This is as absurd as saying they should stop making Fighting Games because nothing will beat Third Strike anyway.
>This is as absurd as saying they should stop making Fighting Games
Everyone who plays fighting games is miserable because they want to keep their games alive forever, so yes they should.
They should quit makimg Monster Hunter and Souls games while they're at it.
>They should quit making Souls games
Abso-fricking-lutely.
They should just do non-open world sequels to Bloodborne and Sekiro and afterwards burn Fromsoft to the ground.
Unironically.
I kind of agree, but at the same time I am completely fine with a DMC that has an entirely new cast of characters.
I think that if 5 really was Itsuno's last DMC, they should come up with new characters and gameplay mechanics and expand the world more, leaving the Sparda legacy characters as sort of legends, and maybe meet up with Nero some times.
I still feel like they can get another game out of Nero, but for me I am very happy and content with the way they left Dante in 5.
This, from a mechanical standpoint, I don't see anything wrong with making more games if the creativity is there. From a narrative standpoint, I think they'd best adopt the Resident Evil and have a queue of characters that successively get the spotlight. It was already bad enough bringing Vergil back in 5.
>good game
>dmc 5
pick one
I pick DMC5.
I want more Vergil and Nero interactions. That was the on thing I was looking forward to in 5 and I feel ripped off.
>So many properties get sequels they don't need
Yes, that was 5 and 4.
>he doesnt want more doppelganger
kys
Argosax > Mundus
Mundus needed the apple to stand against Argosax.
Well then they need to make a new IP with DMC's gameplay
I nominate a dmc style green lantern game. I know it will never happen but it would be cool
Medieval demon hunting game for me
You could do a medieval warhammer fantasy game
CHAINSAW MAN
I'm tired of all the speculating I just want to know what direction they will take from now on.
How to make dmc6 a success,
>give nero more options
>replace V missions with Vergil
>add improved lady and Trish for BP
>implement full coop.
>pretend V never existed
Literally free money
The vast majority of the playerbase liked V.
Then the vast majority of the player base is moronic and commit suicide.
>give nero more options
Already has them, get better.
>Already has them
You don't... actually believe this don't you?
I do. And I'm tired of pretending he doesn't.
I s ranked ever nero mission on dmd, he still needs more.
Nero is not a character that revolves around having a lot of options, that's Dante. Giving Nero a shitton of weapons and options would make him too similar to Dante, which is what the devs clearly don't want. He's supposed to be a reaction and rythm based character, not an execution based character like Dante. Literally the only thing they should have gave him to make him perfect in DMC5 is the ability to cycle between arms. If you think Nero is "too easy" and you're not
>consistently revving his sword with every single attack
>ALWAYS charging up a charge shot
>constantly breaking his arms to do a break age attack
Then you're playing him wrong. Obviously if they ever make a new game, they'll give him a few more things, but they won't go an turn him into Dante 2.0 in terms of complexity.
I wish I can use the slide that comes with the mega man arm without the mega man arm. It useful. Also would breaker cycling go through the d pad?
I can do All of that still feels restrictive and boring. I need more. Or just the ability to not play as him on ng+ because he bores me to tears.
Well then, he's simply not a character for you. Just mod the game to play the whole thing as Dante. You are playing on PC and on a poverty station right anon?
I’m not a pc pleb sadly, I bought a PS5 for the dmc5 special edition. I’m a die hard dmc fan, I just can’t abide by Nero’s one weapon no styles ammo count gay shit. It’s so fricking boring.
Yeah I don't think I want a sequel either, game series with a thousand titles are never really that good and DMC should have ended a long time ago anyway, like look at Bayo or NG, they're series that are a shell of their former selves thanks to unneeded sequels.
>So many properties get sequels they don't need, so many have been ruined because of it.
But that's exactly what DMC5 is. A sequel made for a new audience who never cared for the originals and didn't do anything new or advance the series in any meaningful way.
DAMN, Sparda betrayed his own kind for ***THIS**?!
>thinking Eva was like 2000 years old
moronic lorelet
Nero's issue isnt his limited toolset but that his toolset is boring. His one weapon is almost totally derivative of Rebellion except slower and with a couple extra combos that don't amount to much, and all his mechanics encourage charging which is boring. The breakers are definitely a good addition to his moveset but they also have a stupid charge mechanic to access their most fun moves, and having to break them to swap hands is very restrictive.
negative IQ take
If theres anything im missing I'd love to hear it.
you can get an upgrade that lets you charge Red Queen instantly on attack. I usually never get it cause it's insanely expensive though but that would get around the "charging is boring" complaint
Yeah max exceed is good and its definitely the most well implemented charge mechanic nero has but the issue with it is that the charge moves dont really do anything cool except for his launcher and stinger moves.
>having to break them to swap hands is very restrictive
this is true specially because the Dpad remains UNUSED for Nero, literally why not let you swap hands? makes no sense
Breakers were a return to form that why his demon arm absorbed various powers in 4, it didn't end up realized then.
Now see the knuckles which nobody saw coming by the way. Imagine playing nero and his stand at the same time, that's a path toward complexifying his fighting style. That mechanic is proof that DMC devs are capable of coming up with shit you are not expecting in a future installment so don't sell Nero out that easily.
Vergil in DMC5 is proof that the devs are fricks who will refuse to change a character's playstyle even it's warranted and would be for the best.

Are you saying that Nero has potential? I agree, I don't even think Nero is particularly unfun but he has noticeable flaws in his design that make him not always fun to play.
