I don't get her design at all. You have to charge up stocks to use the better version of her moves, but you get no advantage on block. So what exactly is the point of stocks? Slightly more damage? Also, if I use my stock on a buffed move, I can no longer cancel into ult. You are PUNISHED for using stocks. Then comes the green dash cancel. I finally thought there would be a use for her qcf mk. Nope. In past games I could use it for pressure, but in this game it is unsafe, can not be dash canceled, and all in all I see no reason ever to not just go into the hk version. Why does her ex uppercut lose to people jumping in sometimes?
Why does her qcb x2 punch engine move last 2 seconds? Why can't I combo after it? Like combo > engine > longer combo. So stupid. Nothing works how you think it should.

I've done the matches and got Iron with 2200 points what does it mean.
No one knows how the placement works, but it seems pretty non-sensical.

Don't worry about your placement during the beta. There were strong players starting out as New Challengers or placed into lower ranks and climbing out, so it was kinda random. I ended up fighting 5 people that beat me, only won 2 or 3 matches and got placed in Iron too. But then I went on win streaks and quickly climbed to Platinum.

So two people winning 7 out of 10 matches might get placed into different ranks. The choice about your skill level at the start seems to determine who you're matched with, starting you against higher ranked opponents.
I played Guile, won 8/10 by just doing sonic booms, flash kicking jump in attempts and occasional throw. Got placed to bronze.

Hit conformable mediums. Fact that I have to mindlessly spend 3 bars on drive rush without reacting to my button hitting or not is such a bonerkiller for me. Where drive impact forces you to turn off your autopilot, drive rush turns it on.
I canceled my mediums into specials all the time. Who were you playing? Ryu 2mk into any Donkey kick or 2mp on Guile into either of his specials worked fine for me.
To answer the OP, some changes to the menus to make it feel more intuitive would be nice, and while I doubt they'll do this for a couple of years, fix the lighting and some of the face models for characters like Manon, Chun Li, and Kim would really be nice, I think everyone else looks fine. They'll never go back to keyframing either but at least they're trying to do things so that it isn't as bad if stuff like Jamie's hair in his level 3 is anything to go by. Not sure if I like DI as a mechanic even if it's the weakest Drive tool outside of the V-Reversal copy.

Here's a chart comparing cancel windows highlighted in green brackets, 4f may not seem like much but it really makes a difference (at least to me). Also notice how Luke's target combo cancel is still at 17.

I dislike many things about the game as is but one thing that is actually pretty much an objective flaw and cant just be dismissed as subjective is that the buttons that you are meant to use to poke with and then cancel into a DI when the opponent does an DI can run out of cancellable frames. That makes it mad random and you can get clipped even though you used the tool that was meant to prevent it.
The solution would be to make buttons like your typical cr.mk cancellable into DI on impact at any point while keeping the regular cancel frames for special/super cancels.

Cancelling moves to another move is actually you cancelling the recovery frames by timing the next move. It's more lenient in 6 but it's still there.

They aren't necessarily clones, the term the franchise uses is "dolls". They are more supposed to be potential replacement bodies or vessels for Bison's soul if he needs to leave his original body due to damage or old age. They might use some of his dna is the process of making them, but I don't think they are actually straight up clones.
Cammy is the exception and a literal clone, the dolls were kidnapped little girls that Bison brainwashed into sex slaves, Yuri was one of them but she liked her new persona and remained concious.

it absolutely doesnt scale by 50%. it also gives depletes the opponents meter if you hit him with yours.
you do a fuckload of damage and turn the attackers DI into a 3drive bar cost move basically at the cost of just one drive yourself.
on top of that hitting someone with the DI crumple opens up the biggest possible combo opener that leads to damage and/or oki. you will not get that if you break DI with a grab or with three jabs.

This will be a bigger deal when we can finally play grapplers. You're free to DI everything if you want but the other options are perfectly valid which is why at high level play there responses are varied.

something obvious they have to include in the final release is an explanation of exactly how normals combo from one another. they need to explain the link system. they have to provide video examples showing the possible failure states of links (too early/too slow) with the frame meter attached. they have to underscore that literally everything about the game is determined by nths of a second and you have to be mindful of that at all times.

There is a new player friendly system in place to make pressing a move and then pressing another move easier for beginners. It's called the input buffer and it doesn't need explanation to use it.

not a big fan of the hold button to parry thing. fireballs feel useless as far as a zoning tool. drive impact/drive rush seems very strong. I prefer normal footsies I think, it feels shitty to get punished for a crouching mk when every street fighter before this, that's a relatively safe move.
feels like third strike where nothing you do is actually safe because there is an answer that will fuck you up if your opponent has the right reads. I'm not sure I like that, as someone who prefers SSF2 Turbo/Alpha 3/SFV style gameplay.
Of course, these are just my impressions with a few hours of beta time. This could wind up being the deepest, greatest reinvented fighting system since third strike. But I think I prefer simpler systems as of now.

fireballs have even more reward than they usually do in sf6 because of how blocking takes drive meter. battles of attrition turn into that kind of shit.
the way you beat someone parrying your fireballs is to drive rush after you see the parry and punish counter throw them. you have to be shooting fbs from midscreen for this to work but it catches people offguard.

i was only gold so not good but fireballs were pretty effective mid to longscreen. people like to try to tap parry fbs for lower recovery time/less drive expenditure than hold and you can catch them with differing fireball speeds or denjin hado requiring a longer hold than they're used to and so on. there's layers to it.

People hate on DI but it works for promoting smart gameplay and not just mashing buttons and strings. If a player repeats a safe string repeatedly, you can DI them to punish, and if they just throw out random DI’s it’s enough time to hit your own to counter. It basically forces you to be smart in neutral. My only complaint right now is there’s some still button latency, and throws need to be nerfed a bit. Right now, the range on it in corners is pretty ridiculous, and it seems to act like a meaty somehow, with some throws beating out wake up jabs and DP’s.

Is it just me or is Luke's LP-MP-HP tc into sand blast way too safe? Luke stepping forward with LP makes it a decent poke and following the tc with 4HP or 4HK to punish counter a throw or mash attempt seemed to work against anything that wasn't an OD DP.

Thanks for the input, my buddy was at his wits end trying to stop my pressure with Juri. DI was most successful for him but if I started my tc early enough I could then armor break. With better reactions I could probably cancel LP into OD DP or counter with my own DI but I didn't think of those in the moment since I'm kind of new to SF. June 2nd can't come soon enough.
Character with longer normals might be able to force you into a block string afterwards to create space. Stubby normals are stuck though.

No pushback, you gain meter with ever successful parry instead of losing meter on normal block, you can perfect parry to take your turn back, you can cancel parry into drive rush.

They made Ryu really fun in SF6. His cr.mk is back to being good, he has long range pokes (forward HK, donkey kicks), strong zoning potential with denjin charge, generally good fast and slow fireballs, and he can both counter and use the drive system in strong and straightforward ways that compliment is moves. He's the most fun version of Ryu.
SF6 feels like the first game in a long time where Ryu isn't the obligatory basic bitch character with three moves and they actually took a hard look at what he has, what he needs and actually went out of their way to make him cool and fun again.

Not only are they charging you the same $24.99 price tag as SFV for 2 less DLC characters per Season, but Capcom REFUSES to explain how the monetization will work. Even Maximillian said that he asked them about costumes and stages, and they explicitly told him they weren't gonna say anything about it.
Refusing to say anything about this a month before launch is throwing a huge red flag. I'm concerned we're gonna get drowned in $10 costumes, $7.99 stages, and a shit ton of microtransactions for World Tour Mode and the Create-a-Fighter suite. Virtually no one is talking about this either, which makes it all the more worrying.

my least favorite thing about Capcom having changed Akuma's hair from the Red we saw in the leaks to the White hair we saw when he was officially revealed, is that it shows Capcom are still considering making small cosmetic changes to things that leaked. so now we don't know for sure if they'll try adding tights to Cammy's Classic Leotard costume or not.
i'm worried Street Fighter 6 is shaping up to be worse than V, because at least V knew it was a fighting game. 6 is trying to be half single player Zoomer Shenmue with Modern Controls and half traditional fighting game with Classic Controls at the cost of 1/3rd of their DLC per Season and a level playing field for all competitors. they've spread themselves too thin for their budget and it shows all over the place. the artstyle and visual presentation, the visual fidelity of the characters, and the content offered in the Shenmue Mode are all below par for Capcom's flagship fighting game. shit is breaking my heart as an 09'er and relatively long time fan.
nobody is going to give a fuck about world tour or extreme game modes after a month.
If there's one thing devs should learn it's to not listen to the FGC, this single player content crap just meme'd capcom into wasting money that could have made the game better looking
i agree, i think it was a big mistake to limit the number of characters per Season to 4 so they could add them to the World Tour Mode story. i don't think people really care about that and would rather have two extra characters per Season to play.
but anon, you can't simply sell ad space to Redbull and Arby's to host ads/billboards all over the Battle Hub if you don't cook one up. just like you can't sell Cash Shop outfits for Lobby Avatars if there's no Create-a-Fighter system. we gotta diversify our monetization scheme. the full retail box price, the Season Passes, the physical re-releases like Arcade Edition, the Premium Character Costumes, and the Capcom Cup Premier Passes simply aren't enough methods of monetization. we're leaving money on the table.

drive rush is only good against people who literally don't do anything. if you're throwing out safe pokes, jumping, or almost anything then you will beat drive rush. drive rush cancel is free pressure, but it takes 3 meters so it's a big investment.

if a move is straight up punishable then they can't DI to save themselves. If you're talking about you missing a punish and getting DIed, then that is no different than someone mashing super when they expect to be punished in case you mess up your punish. it is nothing new. DI is even worse than super or invincible DP because it can be thrown and reacted to.
