You mean the OG Stronghold ones?
Those are ass. Basically need to cheese in order to complete them even on easy difficulty.
I think i put my ranged units on the hill to the right of the castle in order to snip his units from the walls from there. Had to move things around constantly in order to not get hit by his troops.
After that i went a head with a small hand to trigger the fire traps and once that was taken care of you are in the castle. Just take a slow again and don't get greedy because there are fire traps inside the castle itself as well.
Only the OG.
Stronghold Crusader is too fast paced to be comfy for me. One reason why i still prefer it. Crusader is fun if you want arcade style matches or multiplayer matches but the original is by far the best castle sim ever made.
Crusaders is also ugly as shit as far as visuals go.
Sand bricks on sand. Everything is brown.
Sure - It makes sense considering the setting but nothing beats the OG when it comes to aesthetics. The castles look beautiful and so do the surrounding woods and landscapes.
Yeah, some of the maps with the lush forests and the green rolling hills just look so beautiful and then this song
comes in and it's just the most relaxing feeling in the world. Stronghold 2 had many of the same songs but the visuals just looked ghastly and the peasant voices were nowhere near as good.
Stronghold 2 has the problem that it was just "Stronghold but more". And Crusaders was already Stronghold but more and already pushing the limits of what is reasonable.
Stronghold 2 also looks like shit just like every early 3D game so nobody wants to play it anymore even though it used to be pretty impressive for its time.
OG Stronghold never had skirmish to begin with.
Would have been neat to get it through this release but i am fine with the normal multiplayer options that we got here. The inevitable Crusaders Remake will definitely have skirmish. And it will be absolute cancer just like it has always been.
I do know.
Smells like desperation considering that this is the 2nd re-release of the game they are making. And all their 3D games are mediocre and sell like shit.
Atleast this release will have multiplayer through Steam so who knows. Maybe people here will make rooms and we get to play some scenarios together.
stronghold 2 used to get a lot of hate but it was my favorite stronghold game
never beat the campaign, i remember it being extremely difficult as a kid

The amount of people who do not re-locate their storage impresses me to be honest. People have no idea that economy wins the game i guess and keeping your shit so close to your center is just generally a big handicap.
>join Crusader game >build market and recruitment place >sell everything in order to buy as many assassins as possible >kill every other lord 2 minutes into the game
How come any of the SH games post Crusaders dropped the lord interactions? Characters like Richard, Wolf, Rat or Snake were generally liked. People loved the cheesiness and reactions.
Yeah. It's also only like 1-2 bucks.
But you may wanna wait for the remake which is dropping in two months and adds Steam multiplayer. No more gameranger shit needed.
But the old version is still perfectly fine if you just want widescreen support and play singleplayer again
I haven't played Stronghold Crusader in 20 years
Here's what I remember >build up as many crusaders as your maximum population limit allows >right click enemy walls
Crusaders was spamming horse archers. >as fast as knights >can shoot while moving
AI is too dumb to counter that and for online your opponent has to constantly keep his eyes on you or you fuck his economy into the ground.
I gave them all the bakeries they could ever need, why would they be mad over a few cesspits and cruel taxes
>feeding them instead of just getting them drunk on booze
You should still make bread in order to sell it but feeding your people is actually not optimal gaming.
I see. Do you have any tips on the siege missions on the Pig's castle? Never completed those on the higher difficulties.

If someone didn't know
> no skirmish mode

They replace this guy with his younger more healthy looking brother
when I was young I sucked at this game, but 13 year old me still loved it.
Tried Stronghold 2 and this Crusaders shit, but the original still has mroe soul (nostalgic factor) than its shitty successors
Wood needed.
Double rations, great!
Bit much these vaxxes

Perfectly balanced. Thank you very much Firefly.

WOOD NEEDED
Damn, must reinstall it someday.
Is the Steam version alright? I lost the disc somewhere.
Yeah. It's also only like 1-2 bucks.

Can't place that there, m'lord!

Stronghold has no population limit.
Nothing stops you from building 800 catapults.
