Because 99% of the games are ports of phone games because that is what gaming is according to tech execs

also its clunky, requires you to tough out VR sickness until you dont get it, and there is still no immersive solution to player movement

I'm working on it, I just don't have someone who knows how to code to actually do something with a playspace mover to work for it

Tell that to the general populace while you wonder why VR isn't taking off.

What is there to wonder? No solid games that don't require you breaking a sweat, and even then fighting endless waves with bad ai gets boring.
Doubly so if you're a beaner and can't afford a PC and a headset.
Good try with the gotcha tho fatty.

Vr headsets have this habbit of collecting everything about the user and making it about everything but the games as if you didnt spend close to a thousand buying that shit

It's pretty obvious VR won't take off anytime soon until jacking your brain in without moving your body becomes a thing.

There's no killer app, just a bunch of really good apps for niche groups, like flight simulation, racing, exercise, etc.

      Fuck Devs, Pay Modders

All the killer apps are through vr mods. Cruelty squad just had a vr mod work in progress announcement

A killer app is not "play your favorite game...AGAIN in VR". It has to be something novel and with broad appeal.

          >It has to be something novel and with broad appeal.
it'll only happen when vr hardware is cheap enough where a broad audience is possible, then game companies can use a big budget to make a proper vr game because it'll break even on sales
          it's about 3-5 years away

videogames didn't have a killer app until super mario bros in 1985, that's like 20 years after pong
we're still in the atari era of vr, lots of low quality shit and experiments, not many compelling adventures yet

Thats why I dont buy games that aren't vr. So it is playing it for the first time. Flat games are boring to me now anyways. Literally nothing exciting about pressing a button without actual physical aiming or being in the actual environment

    >Why is VR stagnating so hard?
supply chain chaos and china going full moron with covid
if there's not many factories producing displays for VR because of lack of manpower/resources/electricity or lockdowns, then you're not going to get better displays for a while

also qualcomm is releasing their VR gen 2 chipset later in the year, that'll be a big jump for standalone visuals

      Fuck Devs, Pay Modders

Devs actively trying to kill it because they can't motion control. That's why just stick to vr mods and buy games 75% off using cd keys (or pirate)

    >Early VR - Expensive hardware, not many developers, novelty factor, requests 6ft x 6ft free space and tracking stations
    >Alyx Era - Still expensive but more powerful models now available. Companies trying to create bigger games, Steam releases HL Alyx which is one of the best VR exclusives
    >Quest Era - Oculus release Quest, features inside-out tracking meaning you only need the headset and a cable. Has mobile hardware so you can even run it without a cable. Creates a boom in new VR owners
    >Now - Large proportion of your VR users are now literal mobile users, games don't need to be big or technical to sell. Low budget games generate better return on profit, everything has stagnated
