Well, it would need another $40 million and it would beat Lion King remake with adjusted inflation numbers. But then you'd also have to battle with original Lion King which would be $874m when adjusted for inflation. But then again, Snow White and Seven Dwarfs would still be the highest grossing animated film when adjusted for Inflation at around $2.15b like how nobody is beating Gone with the Wind unless you do like James Cameron and release your movie multiple times to raise the number to try to get over the $3.9b and he'll probably do it if he does it enough.

Anon, plenty of high-grossing movies are bland shit that barely gets talked about. By the looks of things, the Mario movie was relatively barely discussed after release compared to plenty of other movies, with pretty much the only topic left being brought up is how much money it made.

It was good because it made the MARIO movie for MARIO fans instead of making a generic hollywood movie and sticking Mario in it.
The only bad part was the Mario Kart section which was probably added to advertise the game, which is really lame.
