dreads go against the white scars idea of riding fast and being able to feel the wind since you are a pile of beat inside a lumbering tomb, never able to feel outside sensations
they're just chill frickin dudes honestly. the scars deciding their loyalty made me pick them when HH2 came out. the khan just looking at mortarion all fricked up by chaos and going 'yeah you're the baddies' was amazing
The Tau's Fire Caste are a mobility-focused hunting culture turned warrior caste. They have a lot culturally in common with the white scars in terms of military doctrine, and it helps that the Tau are not the kind of slavering monsters that the Imperium usually has to fight. Th Tau are the enemy, and they must be defeated, but its refreshing to fight an enemy that can maintain a mutual respect.
Jaghatai was the most pragmatic of the primarchs so it’s no surprise that his sons are as well.

The White Scars are heretics
Jaghatai was swapped with Fulgrim when they were scattered across the galaxy. The Eldar Laughing God thought it would be funny if the Emperor’s Children turned traitor instead of the White Scars. He was right, it was objectively funny, but the result is Jaghatai and his sons are basically renegades who remained loyal.
We know people raised on spire worlds have a fear of open spaces and conversely people raised on agri-worlds or feudal worlds have a fear of enclosed spaces. These two factors together, it’s not surprising the White Scars would eschew these protocols for such an honoured brother.
We don’t know if that was the reason why they were swapped. And honestly I cannot see the Khan or White Scars ever turning Slaaneshi. Some sort of generic renegade or go-fast Khornates might fit, maybe, but not Slaaneshi.
Yeah to be honest I don’t see why being sent to a mining camp would make Jag fall to Chaos. It might make him more scarcity-focused, making him more pessimistic when he tries to get through the Heresy on pure pragmatism.
Also, I don’t think it’s a given that a traitorous Jag would fall to chaos. Renegade would be just as valid. That’s one reason I believe the Laughing God bit.
my headcannon says Cegorach thought putting a Mongolian man on a mining world and putting a pasty white boy on Mongolian planet was pretty dumb and just swapped out the two.

>Warriors that like to go fast and enjoy sensations in battle won't go Slaaneshi
Wut. Look up Doomrider.
It’s in Scars. >Magnus laughed. "You don't want to know? That's always been your weakness. I know it all, now. I could tell you the Emperor's name, and it would surprise you. I could tell you that the fates decreed Fulgrim to be sent to Chogoris and you to Chemos, and I could tell you which arcane force in the universe prevented it."
Seems to have also been part of why the Emperor thought the Khan might turn traitor - he was actually SUPPOSED to turn, while Fulgrim and possibly also Mortarion were supposed to stay loyal in trade. Instead Fulgrim and Mortarion fell and the Khan sided with the Imperium.

Cegorach comes up in another book as the one who interfered in the scattering, in relation to Fulgrim. Since Fulgrim and the Khan were switched in the scattering, it is Cegoracho did it.
They have a disgust response to xenos but can work with some under the right circumstances. He's just echoing a sentiment. They wouldn't actually be friends.
>hey we're pretty similar we should share some wine and chat about our ideology >so many layers....so many meanings...this will take days to decode
Is Kor'sarro literally moronic?
All marines are autists >Many moons later >Kor'sarro relaxing, doing some calligraphy with the bros >Suddenly drops his brush >"My Khan, is something the matter" >Turns to his comrades, tears flowing >"I...I think she was asking me out." >They get no more out of him, for days he is melancholic
I always liked to imagine the part where Jaghatai went full anime mode on the Ork stronghold/army after one of his old guard died was just pure anime wankery where you don't see his hands move but Orks were being sliced into tiny ribbons as he walked forward
Imagine thinking Dreadnoughts are bad who wrote this tripe ADB?
>lorlete
Read a fricking wiki at the very least.
The White Scars never liked using Dreadnoughts since third edition. It's all because of their culture.
As another anon said, read a wiki you lorelette

They look ugly
Imagine wanting your glorious death rather than a torturous half life as a prisoner inside a metal tomb.
As an asides, the dynamic is neat. Its nice when you can have the "maybe we arent so different, you and I" and not have it seem hollow as all shit.
Nah
omg they cant hate my EPIC dreadnoughts....
one chapter actually not being fans of the horrible walking life support platforms is fine
its not dreadnoughts are cool
White scars are oddly friendly to Tau

Heretical yes, bad writing no.

No, baby primarch can alter their appearance to look like the native population

No he wasn't.
>Jaghatai was swapped with Fulgrim when they were scattered across the galaxy.
Wait what?
Laughing God did it while they were in transit during the Warp.
So Fulgrim was suppose to be a mandarin and the khan was suppose to be... a guerrilla fighter technobarbarian like Horus?
Also source?
Chemos was some sort of low cyberpunk, he'd be a revolutionary gang leader
It’s in Scars.

It looks like it was written by Phil Kelly who tends to be pretty pro-Tau
So drill a hole in it and install wheels FFS.
All space marines are, they venerate their primarchs
Most of them do not think the emperor was a god either.
I honestly assumed that wasn't canon anymore.
Korsarro X Shadowsun otp
Why does no one bring this up? A marine would never even attempt to think of a what if like this aren’t marines brainwashed into hating Xenos
The white scars aren’t normal marines aka they tappin xeno pussy
The whole point of some White Scars training is to make them able to think for themselves and not be morons.
They have a disgust response to xenos but can work with some under the right circumstances. He's just echoing a sentiment. They wouldn't actually be friends.
>hey we're pretty similar we should share some wine and chat about our ideology

Is Kor'sarro literally moronic?
no, Phil Kelly is just bad at writing characters
All marines are autists
>Many moons later

Man you black library haters always target authors for the smallest shit

oh yeah these guys exist
