and somehow no one wants to ask why this is?
the reason is because it is an uncomfortable truth that shatters your weak, fragile worldview built upon filth, corruption, lies and death

    Who is hurting the children?

No, I’m pretty sure people make moronic conjecture as to why that is in every one of these threads.

Same, I keep a stream, some music or a podcast playing in every room of my house 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a years. Silence is hell.

It looks more like old office space. The main creepy factor seems to be the idea of being alone in a place that is meant to be full of people working.

the thought of being trapped alone in an endless series of nondescript hallways isn't scary to you?
obviously the hallways themselves aren't scary, but the fact that they're endless and there's no escape is what people actually latch onto (except underage homosexuals who add monsters into it because they don't understand the concept)

Not OP but I agree however the way it's depicted it can only translate the idea. It's difficult to convey fear, actual fear, through vidya which is why it results in creatures being added (though it's still homosexualry to treat it like SCPs) because otherwise you can just reassure yourself that it's just a walking simulator.
In an actual backrooms irl? Death through fear of the unknown.

The original merely mentioned the possibility of something being there because it's a natural feeling, see the post above you. If you imagine that there is, that's your brain doing the work.

It clearly says there is something else alive in there and you should be afraid of it

And right before that describes the structure of the backrooms as "randomly segmented empty rooms". In the end the post is very open.
An interpretation could be, actual monsters in which case your mind could go on overdrive trying to asses the situation.
However the mind can imagine the non-existent as to being real. After all, actual isolation is damaging. Who knows how a tortured mind constantly seeing a 00's piss filter, coupled with the smell of moist carpet and constant buzzing will react after a while. Another monster could be insanity.
I mean shit, 5 or so years ago when I used to play Dead by Daylight there was an enemy that would hum a lullaby. I shit you not sometimes I would hear it even if I was 100% certain the enemy wasn't close enough. Mind plays tricks man...

I think it's more about the fear of not being alone.
    >primitive human ancestors evolved to fear being alone in a forest at night, because of the possibility of predators hiding under the cover of darkness, waiting to ambush them
The "uncanny valley effect" causes our brain to imagine danger, even when there isn't any, due to being in a very similar situation as our primitive ancestor.
