There's three different categories of badges
Movement Badges give you one extra action, and can be pretty busted, but sometimes the level design seems to expect you to have one to get to some secrets
Boost Badges are literally cheating
Expert Badges are suppose to be handicaps, or at least double edged swords

It would be cooler if this was a Metroidvania but instead this is a Mario-skinned Kirby and in no level is the vine wall grapple useful because you can complete EVERY level with regular jumps.

if someone was actually, somehow, struggling with this game, the double jump badge you get in the lava level (i think) trivializes every stage except the swimming ones
i did struggle with the jump jump level and that one last wiggle race outside of magma world
also only beat like two special world levels, other one i found was the wall jump one and didnt want to do that shit
for me my biggest struggle with the game was the fact that the controls are just shit for the harder levels
sprint/attack should have been mappable to a trigger button. you need to be running constantly in the harder levels and its complete shit having to hit jump with the very edge/bottom of my thumb. meanwhile they have two buttons that do the same exact spin jump
