would sell out in a heartbeat, but I would still pay scalp prices for it cause the N64 was my favorite console besides gamecube. Obligatory but needed

At least some FPS (probably Goldeneye or Perfect Dark)
That is just what is essential or would be obligatory inclusions. No way I could ever imagine Nintendo ever leaving one of those out. With the FPS games its because there were at least a handful of popular ones on there are to leave any out would be a really puzzling exclusion. I also think it should include a wrestling game but due to licensing issues this will not happen. For just OOT and SM64 alone it would be worth owning if emulation was done right.
A-shooin' >SM64 >Ocarina of Time >Kirby and the Crystal Shards >Super Smash Bros. >Mario Kart 64 >Star Fox 64 >Wave Race 64 >Mario Party 2 >Mario Golf
Not sure, but at least some should be there >Goldeneye 007 >Banjo Kazooie >Pokemon Stadium >Pokemon Snap >Perfect Dark >1080 Snowboarding >One of the turok games >Snowboard Kids >Jet Force Gemini >Blast Corps
Possible but imo unlikely >Conker's Bad Fur Day >Banjo Tooie >DK64 >Resident Evil 2 >Pilotwings 64 >F-Zero X >That one star wars pod racing game
not sure what else. I only had a few games on the n64 growing up.
unlikely kind of asserts chance to be on an n64 mini, right? If I had said "doesn't deserve it" or "possible but bad" or something like that your response would make sense.
I hope they do for the people that want it. But really can't imagine the why.
Nintendo's emulators are worse and N64 is tough to do well until relatively recent so it will suck if they skimp on chipset, which these things tend to do to make cash. Their remake of the controller for Switch kept all the bad stick problems so they would do that again. Its pool of hits anyone cares about is small as fuck so I guess you could with just a little luck get every game you have nostalgia for in one shot though.
N64 emulation is not as hard as GCN emulation and hasn't been since Parallel came out a few years back and then got integrated into other cores/emulators. Its harder than PS1 but a step down from Saturn and PSP. However, its still hard enough they can't just use a piece of shit cheap chip and max out profits. Its more a problem that Nintendo would have to crawl their ass to the open source community for code or make their own that can't do it on reasonable hardware, ie Nintendo doesn't have the skills to do it with a profit without making asses out of themselves for all their lawsuits.
Emus don't do the excellent AA though do they. But true, I haven't played an emulator in several years.

It works very well. Its emulation life cycle: >1 concept is made >2 someone gets basic popular games functional >3 someone gets most games passable >4 sits a while at is what it is >5 some turbo autist nails it out of nowhere >6 people build off that in a sudden lurch forward
A new one came out called Parallel awhile ago and then got aborbed iirc into Mupen. Still harder to run than PS1, but takes less than PSP and hits good accuracy and feature set now compared to some years before where even major titles had glitches and need a hefty machine. Its not perfected down to NES/SNES levels yet but its damn sure a lot closer.
Saturn took a good lurch forward around that time too after sitting at number 4 for awhile, still needs good power but still possible in a small device.
Vita within the last couple years went from yea it boots the home screen to some playable titles and has been making progress. PS3/360/Xbox all in on that. And despite what Ganker will tell you PS2 as well (still has a few titles that don't work but its solid 4k@60 these days with AA and the reason for those titles is an explanation of how PS2 shaders work). Lot of the 'it will never work out' consoles took leaps forward in the last 3-5 years or so. Spent 2020 making a huge emulator setup after 2077 shat its pants and I needed something to do.
N64 emulation still has plenty of issues, you just don't notice them because you play the 20 or so popular games.
Nah I played out its handful of games when it was still in the moment so I tend to play its other 20 decent games. Its not perfect but people thinking it takes a monster PC and runs like ass is just wrong.
Would only buy this if they included the gold cart version of OoT, and you sure as shit know they wouldn't. "Classic" with green blood, and muslim censorship.
yeah it wouldnt surprise me if someone finds a way to hack or unlock stuff on it. What could they have in the vault that people would want? aside from Earthbound64 and beta shit
Why do you guys always say both Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time, there's no reason to do both. If they were going to do two they would do Master Quest which never got a fairly standard release.
It needs to have the Rareware heavy hitters like Banjo, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark and Conker. Without those it's a worthless product. For nostalgia reasons I would personally need Jet Force Gemini as well, but that is never happpening.
Retard here. Why don't they just manufacture the N64 chip again? Then the games on a hypothetical N64 Mini would run natively. Surely Nintendo or somebody must own the spec and can make it again? It couldn't be that expensive with modern manufacturing processes could it?
Nintendo didn't manufacture the chip themselves. The manufacturer who did no longer uses the same equipment that they did to make the chips. Even if they did, there's no guarantee they'd be willing to make such crappy hardware because it might not be cheaper than just making modern parts. And even if it was cheaper, thus cost-effective to do so in this small quantity, they will almost certainly never be able to use those chips for anything else. Not to mention that even if they got the native chips it might not be as easy as you think to get the games on the new hardware.
Why do that when they could use cheap android phone parts that are so much more powerful they can upscale & shit. Remaking the old chips would probably cost a fortune in comparison.
I'm kinda curious to check out the release year and release day of each console through time. I do remember NES having a weaker than remembered line up as the blackbox games weren't bad but were much more Atari like than what we really know it for. Feels like SNES and PS1 did well and weirdly PS2 did as well despite nobody remembering it that way. That pic is definitely a good line up. Granted a chunk of it doesn't hold up well but at the time it really was amazing fun.
it won't happen. the others weren't exactly smash successes and they can make more money just putting n64 games on the switch for emulation via nintendo online.
why would they spend millions producing these when the profit margins are so thin when they are already making money with them on the switch? the market for this is also very small.
Nintendos modern emulation is fucking trash. Lazy and greedy. Never give them money. Get a refurbished Wii, homebrew it, and install the wads of the entire NES-Wii library. Boom, there you go. Every classic game in one package
To boot, they have these first party controllers so you can play them as intended. Use GameCube controller for all post-SNES titles. CRT STRONGLY recommended. Again I repeat, stop give these old lazy greedy homosexuals your money
i loved pokemon snap when i was a kid but i learned just a couple days ago that snap didnt even have all 151 kanto pokemon in it. it only had 63. i think that alone kills any chance i ever play it ever again even if it was included
N64 has even less games than PS3.
I've never once in my life heard of a single PS3 game. I assumed it had no gaems.
You haven't heard of Fallout New Vegas?
That's a PC game retard
Objectively wrong.
>has to include sports shit and shitty spin-offs
lmao
>I have no real argument nor have ever played any of the games on the list
I accept your concession zoomer.
Those were actual good games and not ea sports slop
NFL Blitz was the shit

Rogue Squadron and Episode I Racer are on PC
Doom 64 is the only one I see of value here and it's already on PC
I agree but it has some of the best games ever fucking made, and I'm not saying that's a good thing.
Yep. It still has better ones though.
Mario and Zelda are more than zero games, anon.
I can think of at least 5 N64 games within 10 seconds. I can't think of a single PS3 game within 10 minutes.
who cares i'm just gonna hack it for pic related and oot randomizers anyways

I don't think there's a world where they put it on there.
They've only rereleased it one time, on the Wii U.
Remaster or Remake it already, COME ON.
iirc the trademark on it from rare is about to expire so who knows maybe MS lets nintendo get it back
>Possible but imo unlikely

get out
unlikely kind of asserts chance to be on an n64 mini, right? If I had said "doesn't deserve it" or "possible but bad" or something like that your response would make sense.
>your response would make sense.
It makes sense from the tongue in cheek context I said it in but also, really some of those are iconic n64 games.
Nintendo has already stated they can't because it would be too expensive. It would unironically be cheaper to release a Gamecube Classic.
Why?
N64 Emulation is currently in a not great state from both the community and Nintendo themselves
, you need much more powerful hardware to run it than you comparatively would need for Gamecube.
I hope they do for the people that want it. But really can't imagine the why.
Nintendo's emulators are worse and N64 is tough to do well until relatively recent so it will suck if they skimp on chipset, which these things tend to do to make cash. >we can't even have great emulation for a fucking 64-bit console from the goddamn 90s ffs
Why does this earth blow so much dicks?
Because Gankers emulation info is like 10 years out of date.
Emus don't do the excellent AA though do they. But true, I haven't played an emulator in several years.

I think we should get a mini gameboy/gbc/gba first. and mini VB, come on, it would be SO easy.
WAVE RACE
You can put in the entire N64 library and still have space for unreleased shit or extras lmao
yeah it wouldnt surprise me if someone finds a way to hack or unlock stuff on it. What could they have in the vault that people would want? aside from Earthbound64 and beta shit
They cant even get their games to look accurate on their in house switch emulator. Mini N64 is never happening.

Dinosaur Planet. Just as God intended.
see now this is a good idea, why not throw on the nearly complete build of Dinosaur Planet.
While cool I doubt microsoft would ever sign off on something like that. SF2 worked because they didn't need anyone else's permission.
its never happening. the hardware would cost too much to mass produce for nintendo to care. get a analog 64 or stick to emu/nso.
It needs to have the Rareware heavy hitters like Banjo, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark and Conker. Without those it's a worthless product. For nostalgia reasons I would personally need Jet Force Gemini as well, but that is never happpening.
No way they're putting Conker on there
That alone skyrockets the rating
Bold of you to believe Nintendo wants you to own roms instead of rent them
kek how would they justify charging for like 5 games oh wait nvm it's nintendo LMAO
>Super Mario 64
>Mario Kart 64

It would sell out within a month.

I don't care so long as we are a step closer to the Gamecube mini.
N64 had the most stacked first year of releases in video game history.
