god i hate phonegays so fricking much
They are if that Activision deal doesn't go through
What would buying more studios accomplish? Their output is dogshit and there are no exclusives to speak of on their console. They all but abandoned the console market and are shifting focus on the PC market that has much wider appeal.
>What would buying more studios accomplish?
more games exclusive for gamepass.
gamepass is literally the only thing microsoft cares about.
look at their actual game studios. they dont fricking care about it anymore.
new fable game? fricking dead
perfect dark? fricking dead
Gears of war? fricking dead
its like the only game series they cared about supporting was Forza.
>le fricking dead
says who, dumbass? perfect dark and fable are still in dev and gears 6 is in dev too.
Fable has consistently been worse with every entry and nobody likes cover shooters anymore.
>le snoy brings up cover shooters
>the only genre sony makes anymore
holy fricking moron, even god of war is a cover shooter now during certain boss fights
> Their output is dogshit
It's the same as Sony, games takes usually 6 years to make nowadays, which will be reached next year and games will start coming out, assuming you mean XGS except their old studios. They have this problem because they started buying only in 2018.
Don't be reasonable here, ok?
Play anywhere
Xbox has a better library than snoy overall, not everyone lives in mommy's basement
No games
No players
Last place forever
But enough about your sex life
Last place in exclusives.
Last place in player count.
Last place for eternity.
They live for gamepass, they don't care about putting out new games. Since Rareware buy whenever they get a new studio they just kill them off. They just want to own gaming but it'll never work since Steam already beat them to the punch.
>What would owning the IP's of some of the best selling games in the world accomplish
Major media companies have known for a while that humans have a psychological predisposition to liking things that engage their pattern recognition and prediction abilities.
Therefor something that falls into a neat box and continues to remain in the boundaries of that neat box is desirable to a human.
It doesn't matter if it's music that repeats a string of notes you've heard before, a crossover with a character you know behaving in predictable ways or an established brand with a formula. If a new thing is similar to an old thing it is easier to sell.
Thankfully, yes.
It won't, it's over. The EU and UK are standing against it, and Google as well.
>Google as well.
1st I've heard of this, really? or did you brainfart a bit when thinking about sony
These organizations purpose is to oppose big acquisitions. It’s how they become valid. Expect every big legal body to challenge this. 70+ billion is big industry shaking money.
EU and UK doesn't care
I absolutely love fricking morons like you, like you're so sure in your incorrect fricking knowledge that you spout it wherever you can. I can almost garuntee you wrote that and sat there looking smug after with the worlds most punchable face not realising what a fricking extra chromosome moron you made yourself out to be
can they even afford it anymore?
Anon, Microsoft has over 100 billion dollars in cash on hand.
thats nothing
That's because you don't know what the frick your talking about. There are only two other companies on the planet that have more cash then them.
Literal moron
If the Activision deal doesn't go through, they'll just turn around and use a fraction of that money to outbid Sony on all exclusive deals for the next 10 years
Sony loses no matter what. If the deal goes through then MS will proceed as usual. If the deal doesn't go through, it will piss off all the key people at Activision because they lose out on all that money which in turn will make them more sympathetic to MS with regard to future deals and exclusivity. Sony is just shooting themselves in the foot trying to stop this.
>it will piss off all the key people at Activision because they lose out on all that money which in turn will make them more sympathetic to MS wit
bros writing fanfiction lol
>implying executives at big corporations don't love money
stop making yourself look stupid
youre writing a whole ass larp about feelings and shit sit down nerd lmao
>no argument
pwned
Please go back, I know your parents don't love you but this is neither the time nor the place
Was letting Sony eat their lunch for 10 full years getting every decent exclusivity deal first before they attempted to outbid them back part of Microsoft's master plan?
I'm buying up activision and microsoft stock right fricking now you're a fool if you don't.
That money would just go to Ubisoft, or worse a bunch of 3rd party deals.
This acquisition is the best scenario for Sony gamers that don’t give a shit about cod.
How could they possibly be fricked? They didn't lay off 10k xbox employees and 343i deserves every firing
Gamepass is their stalingrad
Ganker everyday
>343 sucks so bad Msft sucks bc of them
Ganker today
>hey man why did 343 get hit by those layoffs. Love that studio
they are shitters who celebrate the downfall of gaming companies then cry about no games
They deserve it for making shit games. There isn’t a single Xbox game that would make me want to buy an Xbox.
Halo fans never liked 343.
>hey man why did 343 get hit by those layoffs. Love that studio
point me to the posts saying that shit anon
Activision looking like a shitty buy right now anyway
the games division has been mismanaged for years even before Scalebound and Crackdown 2
What's the context for this today? Also, how does it affect games on or coming to PC or Nintendo?
don't expect Perfect Dark anytime ever
Layoffs? Quick rundown?
Microsoft announced 10k layoffs across the entire company out of a workforce of 250k (after hiring 40k people since mid 2021), some of which are occurring in 343 and Bethesda. Not much word on Beth, but with Starfield basically finished they’re probably just axing temporary flex workers. 343 got hit much harder, they basically moved their entire campaign staff over to multiplayer, let go the people that couldn’t make the switch like concept artists, and said that going forward they’ll be getting outside studios to work on single player Halo projects while they run the live service MP and update/maintain the halo engine.
A shitload of pajeets are being fired
Judging by the amount of x ox hate/cope threads, I'd say no. The fact that Sony fumbled PS5 not having enough stock still and series s/x + game pass being a great value for poorgays it seems like they're more relevant thus gen than last.
>bb bb but sony!!!!!
Whataboutism is such a pathetic cope
Huh what? I'm saying Sony fumbling is keeping Xbox around. They could have put the nail in the coffin if they had supplies.
I just had the longest piece of shit in my life, it just kept sliding out for almost 10 seconds.
Jealous I'm pooping now and it's not satisfying
So Microsoft is definitely not doing another Console Gen right? The money they've burnt for the last 20 years and only the 360 was profitable yeah? Why continue?
How can they?
Microsoft being alive 5 years from now isn't even in the cards anymore.
I actually think they're doing a lot for consoles as far as services go. That games pass or whatever is no joke and I like how they seem to be kind of pushing for this environment where platforms are irrelevant and getting games out to people is what matters. I'm behind that and I won't talk shit about the series sxssxxxsss or whatever they want to go by.
It's just pathetic to try and paint xbox exclusives as worth a shit. It's like trying to say HL2 is the definitive PC experience in 2023. The platform has developed beyond that.
Nintendo and Sony are the ones I consider to be the ones still doing traditional consoles, which isn't a bad thing but it's not exactly pushing me to buy the next big release.
I think next gen might be the last console gen cause the big 3 will have perfected their own streaming services by then.
>xbone
Yeah, long time ago.
Their transition is kind of slow, I see them making another xbox even if it's a glorified stream box.
Their troony fanbase is gonna have to increase their dilations to 8 a day at this rate
Frick off back to Twitter.
>be seattlegay
>amazon and microsoft layoffs
>a bunch of the california tech transplants are finally going to gtfo
quite based
>Samef-ACK
We're dueling now homosexual. Touch tips first one to nut wins.
when you haven't released a game in nearly 20 years this is what happens.
SONY IS ABSOULUTELY FRICKING FINISHED LMAO
obvious xbots
Not really
They've been fricked since 2013. Gamepass is the only reason why the division is still alive. I don't see them making another xbox console after this gen.
Yeah
They've been fricked since the 360 ended.
Yeah, Game Pass is not sustainable and people are no longer buying games but rather waiting for them to go on GP instead. It's become the poorgay console thanks to the Series S and GP being so cost efficient but publishers are probably going to ditch it when people no longer buy new titles on it. Day 1 releases were a huge mistake because they create entitled customers.
Microdick is just butthurt that they're not getting income from shitfinite. People saw through it immediately and just stopped playing it.
