Tbh with Hifi Rush there was no presumptuous bullshit, it was what it was. Solid game, wasn't overhyped (except by streamers/youtubers everyone should ignore)
I really enjoyed it. Though the first time you get outside was really jarring, plus the upgrade system kind of sucks. A rock solid 7/10, maybe 8 due to the aesthetics.
Did you play the dev build or official version? I downloaded dev build and it just feels awful to play.
Official. Used a free month of Gamepass to play it and some others. No shit a dev build would be a problem.

I got about 28 hours out of it. Way more if I cared for achievements or played it again on hardcore but I had other games to get to.
I'm reserving judgment beyond what I played in the developer build. I'm not a huge Shock fan, but I'm still considering picking up a copy when it's half off if they add an FOV slider for a second try with all the bug fixes.

I liked it, mostly. The protagonist was kind of a goon and I wish it would have had more levels set on those floating platforms but there was so much cool shit in it. And it's the closest thing we'll get to a game showing something like a communist utopia, even if it's obviously trying to be subversive.

It's fantastic. Punchy combat, very amusing writing with a lot of wild memes. I even caught a fucking ZOHAN meme at one point. "I FEEL NO PAIN." It's a good old fashioned FPS game.
play it on lower difficulties with the less spongy opponents and it becomes more enjoyable.
