I liked the first DivOS but I'm finding it hard to continue playing DivOS2. I kinda stopped playing, swearing I'll finish it someday but I never get the feeling to give it another go. I think my party is around level 10 or was it 11, and all the places I explore have some level 12 or whatever it was, feels like I was getting mowed down anywhere I went. The story doesn't really catch my attention even though I do like the class/attributes/perks system. I do not like the magic and physical armor system though

you've got like 40 more hours in the game, i get insane thinking about i've got two days worth of slog when i boot up the game

I never really had a problem playing the first game but I'm getting stuck trying to do some basicb***h side quests, like there's one of a boy who went missing that his buddies at the docks give, I sweeped all over the place and I couldn't find any clue of where's this damn kid. Then there's some cave under a house where I have to use some gem on a skull that opens a little room with treasure, I can't find an alternate route to the place. Exploring the outskirts of this settlement, going to the Paladin's place and such presents problems with higher level enemies and the huge voidwoken beasts here and there who proceed to rape my party. I was just thinking "what the frick was I supposed to do?" There was also some annoyances with my Scoundrel main character, I never figured how I am supposed to hide after the enemies catch me, and when I try to cloak/hide during the fight, if I don't do it right I lose action points, I don't understand why I was being punished for trying to play my class when I don't get the cone of sight clues after a fight has started, this is just plain bullshit.

Never played Scoundrel but about the quests, I think developers wanted everything to feel big and overwhelming without giving blatant quest markers, so some quests like the one with kid can be skipped entirely if you miss one random clue, but when it adds up it's just overwhelming and messy. Probably plays to the replayability philosphy of devs

I don't want obvious quest markers, but I was doing those side quests because I feel underleveled when I go outside of that encampment that I forgot the name of, so I am unsure where to proceed because all paths seem to wienerblock my party, so I cannot explore the overworld a lot, but I also was failing to do some side quests so well I wasn't able to get enough experience to keep me hooked and try to see what I was supposed to do at all.

It's not that scoundrel is a bad class, it's just that being behind to deliver backstabs is the optimal path it seemed to me, and sometimes due to the mechanic of attacks of opportunity, just going around moving near enemies presents a challenge since the class is relatively frail, I'm guessing I have to find a little shitty corner and hide then jump on certain enemies, but I don't get to see how far the enemies can see in the battlefield (and this goes double for the enemies up there who have enormous line of sight). I do have a teleport-behind-your-back move but it has a cooldown so I don't think relying on that is the intended way of playing it

Those elements just made the game unfun to me

It's not that it's boring for me, it's just tiring as frick. Also Reaper's Coast at least is a fricking mess, areas are designated by level but you have no way of knowing until you get there, so you just have to poke the entire map for openings.

Pretty sure that if you hold shift you can see the cone of sight even in combat, but I could be wrong. But I think going into sneak mode is not what you're meant to do in combat, as it's mostly used for out-of-combat sneaking by enemies or thieving. As for the cloaking spell, it turns you completely invisible so it doesn't rely on being out of sight, and should mostly be used in combat, to get a better position or when your weak ass is being targeted.

Also just in case there's a misconception, scoundrel isn't your class, it's just a skill you learned, and the game expects you to do more than just invest point into 1 skill type. You could say you're a rogue type character tho.

correction, by cloak I meant chameleon cloak, not cloak & dagger. It's a polymorph skill.

Did anyone have a good experience of this game in coop? It just feels kinda weird, it's slow as frick and games doesn't really encourage walking away at all, so you just get shittier single player.

played with a friend each one using 2 characters, we finished in 80 hours and it was fun but yes individual exporation is just for when you are searching for something in zones with no fights because battles are balanced around having 4 characters or maybe we were just bad

You're saying it's masquerading as very deep old school RPG but it's shallow and not really role playing?

It is an example of Modern Western Excellence. I don't expect a weeb such as OP to understand.

    This game does everything wrong.
It's like getting DM'd by some goofy dude that eyeballed a DnD book but doesn't know anything about medieval fantasy and everything is all over the place.
It's not just that the lore is dumb but also the writing style is so fricking corny.
Combat would be alright if it wasn't because it's a constant munchkin orgy.

To me the story feels like if someone incredibly persistent was forced to write a full motherfricking novel without ever learning what's good about writing. So it's just... stuff. A lot of tedious neverending stuff about gods and demons and imps and kings, and all of this is just barely passable, devoid of anything that makes you care. Maybe if you're an extreme role player or just very autistic (not in insulting way) you can role play with this kind of freedom you get, but when you just take it at face value it's shallow as shit.

DM also seems goofy because there's always some catch in the middle of combat.
      >a pig nearby turned into a giant monster! bet you didn't expect that!

DoS1 is shattered masterpiece. DoS2 is a disappointment. By 1/3 thru the game I was just bing wahooing and skipping story. My most vivid memory was oneshotting bosses with the warrior's multi-hit sourcemagic ability.

it wasnt bad, but dos1 combat was better, the armor system just ruined it for me though, and maybe the fact that glass cannon is by far the best trait you can possibly have so it kind of ruins a part of the game because every character has glass cannon
