worse graphics and no official online but better performance and no input lag
though maybe wiiu emulator can deal with performance and lag input issues i have no idea
capcom retard magic
i like gen 3 but shit performance, no online on 3ds, the infamous set charm tables, abusing rng by "exploding yourself on timer like a demented salaryman", obvious lag input issues documented on videos and other ebin shit really ruin it
seriously i though i was going insane missing all the dodges while they worked on 3ds and turns out i wasn't insane
>the infamous set charm tables
I knew about this for tri and spent hours restarting for the one I wanted after I was already like 20 hours in but for 3u I just blindly assumed they must have fixed it
Set charm tables were only a thing in 3U. They worked normally in tri.

I'm pretty sure you're misremebering because the alternative is that I am
actually yeah maybe it does make more sense it was 3u it was broken and I got my memories mixed up, I was too young to really be looking it up on the internet in the tri days

In tri and p3rd the charm table would reset every time you loaded your file. That's how it was intended to function.
In 3U the charm table was permanently locked when you originally made your character file and could not be altered after the fact.

I guess I just got my memories of which game I was resting for mixed up
>tribal masculine aura
I hate how they've lost this. World in particular was an abomination with its dumbass scrum meetings and modernized special forces themes.
What made me fall in love with the game is beating great jaggi for the first time online in Tri. After we killed it, we were all standing around waiting for the "quest clear", and when it happened, we all did the triumphant pose together. It really felt like we tackled a large monster together. I guess the camaraderie of killing a difficult (at the time) monster is what got me hooked.
It soaked me in almost immediately because it was a series all about boss fights built around battles of attrition with minimal gimmicks to the fights themselves and weapons with movesets geared around commitment.
Basically, I knew I'd love the series the moment I watched footage of it, and I still do over a decade later
Can you play online with emulating?
Only the 3DS version.
Literally the only reason I bought a WiiU.
swimming is awful and you know it
4u>3u
3U has swimming
4U has vertical gimmick maps
These two deverses each other.
It is not.
Acquire proficiency.
Swimming is great
You're entitled to your opinion, however shit it is.
4U had the best endgame out of any MH title
rajang farming simulator is what started the current dogshit endgames, 4sperm
If it had the Gu Sword from Lost Planet 2 implemented as a new weapon class then it would have an even more masculine aura to it
God bless your autism anon. Don't forget to give your parents some of your disability check to cover the electric bill.
Doesn't this version lack underwater
No, that's portable 3rd
Ah I see

How the hell does the wiiu version have more input lag?

you set system time to specific values to get the table you want
oh

I was remembering all the good times I had with Tri and 3U and then you had to remind me of this.

Should I emulate on cemu or citra? I know there's a charm table patch for the citra version but is there one for cemu too?
The risk of getting a cursed table is under 2%, I wouldn't worry about it.
What is it that you want out of these games?
>What is it that you want out of these games?
I just want to have fun with them and understand why this franchise is such a big thing.
Help me to get into these games. I've tried multiple times with different entries (3U, 4U, World) and I always end up getting filtered
you have to keep suffering until you like it
play p3rd and finish it
maybe you'll learn the basics enough to not get filtered by the more difficult ones

just keep trying until it clicks. I was the same as you then it became my favourite series
