I appreciated it but couldn't commit to it, too much dialogue and too many cutscenes for my liking. I'm glad Eidos Montreal can just go back to making Deus Ex tho
The company that bought Eidos Montreal confirmed they also purchased the rights to GotG. The only issue is whether Disney/Marvel will allow them to use those rights for another game. They said they were interested in a sequel but they seem more interested in Deus Ex. If we do get a sequel to GotG it will probably be awhile.
They're definitely not as interested in Marvel follow ups right now, Avengers and Guardians look more like incidental acquisitions while they're more interested in growing their library of original IP. At least they probably downplayed them to shareholders because the Marvel deal probably motivated SE to sell off their studios
It was really good but sales were hurt by the Avengers game being so shit.
Also there's a period in the game in the middle where the combat kinda sucks because you keep fighting against enemies with resistances but only tend to have one party member at a team who can counter them.
Once you start getting more ultimate attacks it becomes fun again.
last I remember >he was bizarrely upset that eidos didn't defend him over people thinking he was a loon due to fruit flies >according to him they offered him a pittance to reprise the role because it was so small and it wasn't worth his time
I expect he's gone for good
he made a video skit about illuminati fruit flies or some shit, people saw it and thought he'd legitimately gone mad (he has but that's only incidental)
>GotG will die because of The Avengers game
how do you manage to frick that up? It would be so simple to create a live action Avengers game by just making infinite skins.
>complaints about combat
yall frickers need to go into the difficulty settings and tweak that shit.
i played through the game twice and had a blast. first time was with quick cooldowns but weaker damage on abilities to offset it. second time was with pretty much everything cranked up to the max - my damage, enemy damage, cooldowns were practically non existent.
game has one of the most robust difficulty systems ive ever encountered in my 30+ years of gaming, it's more like a full on cheat engine than it is difficulty settings.
>capeshit >after the Avengers game >first trailer/gameplay segment that was like 30 minutes long was awful because it was the literal opening mission of the game >typical Ganker shitposting about games they have no intention on playing for the (you)s.
It's pretty obvious why this game gets hate on Ganker unless you're a tourist.
Also people act like there's this deluge of superhero video games like there are in movies/tv, when there's only been a handful between both of the big 2 in the last decade.
I liked it but >Played up the 'dysfunctional family' way too hard >Best parts of the game were the beginning and the end, when they were all getting along for the most part >Half of the game, you half to listen to NotChrisPratt scream "COME ON ROCKET" >Game focused on combat has barely any combaty encounters >Don't unlock all you abilites/gun ammo types until the end of the game when you barely have a chance to use them >Multiple Overly-long dream sequences
I like Eidos Montreal and it was definitely better than the Avengers game, but it was very far from flawless.
>finally on a whim decide to give it a shot because Game Pass >it's actually a really solid game with some of the best team bants in years
I really didn't expect a game with this much soul, the frick.
There's so much goddamn banter too. You can leave the game AFK for like 20 minutes and every minute or two one of the crew will chime in with a different quip, and you can do this dozens of times and not hear the same quips repeated.
Every single sidepath and small detour having its own dialogue was mindblowing. It's one of few games where I found myself walking slower to not miss out on any dialogue.
I normally don't like it when game's dialogue just runs rampant like that, but surprisingly here it's just very in character somehow. I still try to be careful about moving forward though.
witcher 3s combat is janky garbage that controls bad and animates like janky garbage for both your character and enemies and makes it explicit that the devs do NOT understand animation priorities, recovery or startup for attack animations.. guardians combat is just there.. but at least its not fundamentally broken on a control and animation level
Had a few visual glitches where characters were teleported a short distance, or changed poses. That was when I discovered Drax's pecs have jiggle physics.
you're squishy
shoot dudes
order your party members to use their abilities
you can unlock alt-fires for your guns
you can unlock additional abilities for you and your allies
you remain squishy
shoot dudes
The dialogue and character interactions really sold the game for me, but holy shit playing on normal without any adjustments is such a slog towards the half-way point of the game. I liked that they used more of the Marvel universe than just the usual Earth heroes. Adam Warlock being an actual presence was nice.
Capeshit is oversaturated right now, I'd rather it go away for a decade.
I appreciated it but couldn't commit to it, too much dialogue and too many cutscenes for my liking. I'm glad Eidos Montreal can just go back to making Deus Ex tho
But Eidos and the rest are not longer tied with squeenix
Is a shame but it’s a sacrifice i am willing to make

I just want more of this game's Gamora rule 34
I liked it. We need more third person casual action that isn't some try hard snoy job
Won't work on my 750ti can I stream it on anything?
Geforce Now? Not sure how well this game plays with streaming lag though. It isn't amazingly twitchy so in theory it's playable.
>I fumbled the cassette catch because the QTE prompts in this game are oddly terrible at telling you when you need to press the button
dammit. Also took about 5 tries not to die on the big team up at the end for the same reason.
I love this game for letting me turn off QTE crap. That stuff has never been fun and never will be.
thank god
jensebros we did it, just 5 more years
I wonder if they can get original Sarif back now. Though knowing Montreal maybe Eidos was the party that canned him anyways
last I remember

>>he was bizarrely upset that eidos didn't defend him over people thinking he was a loon due to fruit flies
What?
FRUIT. FLIES.
what's not to understand?
he made a video skit about illuminati fruit flies or some shit, people saw it and thought he'd legitimately gone mad (he has but that's only incidental)
bump
crack when?
ask your local dealer or fed
Nikki is my waifu and the worst part of the game is when she got a dyke haircut
Dude she's like 12
Where do you think you are right now?
/v/
Ymbnh
Good, it's a fricking shit game that wasted Eidos talent. Go frick yourself.
How did they get away with making Gamora white after the MCU established her as black?
are you blind and moronic
She's green both in the game and . What are you smoking.
The actress in the MCU is hispanic not black
It was trash. have a nice day.
Not just a Sequel but I would really enjoy more of the like form that team, being the new telltale pretty much.
1 unexpected e-girl was enough to make me happy
Still waiting for the inevitable pls be patient I have autism edit
Amon, that's not nice. Why would you say that about her?
Because she has autism
I quit after 15 hours into the game, combat was really repetitive and boring. Graphics are amazing though.
>GotG will die because of The Avengers game
how do you manage to frick that up? It would be so simple to create a live action Avengers game by just making infinite skins.
even without getting screwed by Avengers the game would still not have met Square's sales expectations and they would have sold off Eidos either way
they need to do a blade runner game from the replicants pov. offworld not on earth.
>nooo my heckin capeshit won’t get 10,000 sequels!
>it’s not even a movie tie-in it’s actually a 6/10!!!
I hate America and American media.
>complaints about combat
yall frickers need to go into the difficulty settings and tweak that shit.

For some reason it is starting to become popular to hate the game lately, too much #notlikeothergamers vibe.
i dont get the hate for this game on Ganker
>capeshit
>after the Avengers game
>first trailer/gameplay segment that was like 30 minutes long was awful because it was the literal opening mission of the game
>typical Ganker shitposting about games they have no intention on playing for the (you)s.

superheroes would be a great genre of game, people just need to stop getting their opinions from youtube essayists with letterboxd accounts
Also people act like there's this deluge of superhero video games like there are in movies/tv, when there's only been a handful between both of the big 2 in the last decade.
nobody was talking about it so one guy made it his mission to keep making threads about it which naturally made people hate it
It's a good game Ganker is just full of teenagers who enjoy being contrarians
It's capeshit and capeshit will never not be cringe.
is spider-man 2 suddenly a bad game now?
>suddenly
It always was
I liked it but
>Played up the 'dysfunctional family' way too hard
>Best parts of the game were the beginning and the end, when they were all getting along for the most part
>Half of the game, you half to listen to NotChrisPratt scream "COME ON ROCKET"

How long until it gets cracked?
why are people sucking off this mediocre trash
Have you even played it
yes
Oh
On switch or a real console?
A real console
Do you like e-girls or are you gay?
Not a rhetorical question and those are your only options.
bump
Gay it is. No need to be shy about it anon.
the characters were amusing but the combat was a slog
I liked it, but I'd rather have more Deus Ex anyways.
We will anon. Soon
The game had really cool visuals and potential but i'm guessing they didn't have the budget to really flesh out each world the Garderners visit
>no mentions of the OST
WTF Ganker?
No one here actually played the game, they watched streamers play on Streamer Mode without the music
Frick off you projecting homosexual.
I don't believe that's actually your profile please send a link?
so I can be sure.
I thought Star Lord was real
I'm not. They ruined Nikki. Frick those sjw devs.
You need to go back.
Back where ?
It's on game pass
>finally on a whim decide to give it a shot because Game Pass
>it's actually a really solid game with some of the best team bants in years
I really didn't expect a game with this much soul, the frick.
There's so much goddamn banter too. You can leave the game AFK for like 20 minutes and every minute or two one of the crew will chime in with a different quip, and you can do this dozens of times and not hear the same quips repeated.
It's absurd the amount of banter thats in this.
Every single sidepath and small detour having its own dialogue was mindblowing. It's one of few games where I found myself walking slower to not miss out on any dialogue.
I would usually get angry when I took one step too far and missed out dialog.
I normally don't like it when game's dialogue just runs rampant like that, but surprisingly here it's just very in character somehow. I still try to be careful about moving forward though.
Currently playing through it.
Not bad. Combat is repetitive and pretty easy.
Quill's voice actor can sound a bit whiny at times.
Good characters and growth between them. Some really charming/touching moments.
Sion
Combat was too simplistic and repetitive.
>spam all of the Gardeners' super moves over and over until you win
And people complain about Witchey 3's combat
witcher 3s combat is janky garbage that controls bad and animates like janky garbage for both your character and enemies and makes it explicit that the devs do NOT understand animation priorities, recovery or startup for attack animations.. guardians combat is just there.. but at least its not fundamentally broken on a control and animation level
Had a few visual glitches where characters were teleported a short distance, or changed poses. That was when I discovered Drax's pecs have jiggle physics.
I had one where the Jack guy you meet in the cell was on my ship. Just standing in the bridge and nobody cared. Was kind of spooky
How is the gameplay
Gameplay?
Gameplay
yeah, there is some
Oh thank god
you're squishy
shoot dudes
order your party members to use their abilities
you can unlock alt-fires for your guns
you can unlock additional abilities for you and your allies
you remain squishy
shoot dudes
Sounds boring
Its... serviceable. It can get pretty hectic at times.
Great game to give a try if you have Gamepass.
>Goy pass
Stopped listening right there
>literally the last word of the sentence.
Well I'm glad you stopped reading right there.
I liked the Guardians in this game more than in the movies.
Me too
This thread has been Necro bumped more times than a
