This has to be one of the most 6/10 games I've ever played, I'm honestly surprised it managed to get 2 sequels and a spinoff.

>I HATE THING
I mean I liked it.
Great game 8/10 the sequels werent as good but 2 had some good moments
Lost Planet 2 was mostly about the multiplayer, it’s like Monster Hunter which brought a lot of popularity to the game. But then they went to mostly campaign for 3 and it bombed.
Lost Planet? More like Lost Franchise!
It's got a couple really good levels and the multiplayer was great, the akrid hunter mode they added in the colonies edition was probably the most fun I had with any 360 game
2's good levels were even better than 1's but it also had a whole bunch of totally forgettable ones and the multiplayer wasn't as good, the matchmaking really sucked, the levels weren't as well designed and for some reason they didn't bring back any of the modes colonies added.
i only ever played the first game and thought the controls/handling of the character was ass. am i remembering correctly?
Yeah but it was good at the time. It did not age well.
The controls were tight but the scheme was very abnormal for the era, pretty much every third person shooter by then was doing very similar control schemes that played like FPS with the camera pulled back, but Lost Planet had a weird floating crosshair with shoulder buttons for screen turns and the movement was more like a third person action game with a lot of high commitment animations.
Why are you making a post about a 16 year old game you didn’t like? What the frick
why not? better than most threads on this shithole.
I'm reading the manga adaptation and Javert is such a huge fricking gay with a stick up his ass.
>the manga adaptation
the WHAT
It's pretty neat
Extreme Condition is kinda trash but in an endearing way
2 has a bit of that jank left over but IMO really perfects the gameplay loop. Doing the desert chapter on multiplayer remains one of my all time vidya experiences
3...Tried. I think it really did. It just...Oof
It was overshadowed by Mass Effect. They came out at roughly the same time and both had advertisements featuring cold, snowy planets and sci-fi stuff. Mass Effect was way more popular though because it was good. And it had sexy aliens
Mass Effect isn't good, it's garbage for normalgays.
The multiplayer was fun but I don't remember anything from the story or characters.
>blocks your path
one of the best vidya levels ever made
This is probably the best co-op level I've ever played in a game
my potato pc at the time would always crash right after the starting cut scene even on lowest settings
>level starts with having to jump from one train to another
>two people miss a jump and we instantly fail the level from negative score
Kino
doing this shit solo was fricking impossible for my teen pea-brain, but after failing like a million times, I finally did it on my own. God I fricking love Lost planet so much
>obscenely huge train gun and thousands of miles of train tracks going through absolutely nothing exist just because
UNMITIGATED SOUL
SOVL.
The standards were different in 2007. It had good pacing and the use of thermal energy as both a plot device/gameplay mechanic was well done.
Plus mechs with giant weapons you can rip off and use to mow down is still cool to this day.
What do you mean? It only got one sequel.
Top tier girls though
Tasteless homosexual, I'm surprised u breathe with such shit openions!!!11!!
The game still has tournaments in Japan. Git gud pussy
When will capcom remove games for windows live from lost planet 2 so I can play online co-op again?
>I'm honestly surprised it managed to get 2 sequels and a spinoff.
it was one of Keiji Inafjewne's pet projects that he tried to force into popularity, same as Onimusha, Dead Rising, and Mega Man Legends which all got sequels and spinoffs despite being mostly flops.
Quite Souls like
why does capcom make all their games designed to be basically speedrunned over and over again, all of their games are like this
>we are aware of issues with GFWL, and are working to fix it
where is the fixed version capcom
WHERE IS THE FIXED VERSION, YOU FIXE RESIDENT EVIL 5, WHY DOES IT TAKES YOU SO LONG TO UPDATE LP2
>he still has hope
they did updated RE5 recently out of nowhere
there is still hope... I will be able to experience LP2 for first time with friends
They probably did RE5 because RE is a much bigger IP compared to Lost Planet. Let's face it, the good times with LP2 are behind us
I understand
>LP sounds cool
>Have no friends to MP with
Its over
LP1 has the best controller aiming that I've ever experienced in any console shooter ever. Even after being a PCgay for almost 15 years, I can still play Lost Planet and prefer the controller (yes, I know about the mouse fix).
God I miss playing LP2 MP and having no idea what I was doing but enjoying it thoroughly
Nah frick off it was better than that. I'd say its a perfectly fine and fun 7/10 game. A C average. It is fun for a playthrough. Getting in those vital suit mechs was very fun. The akrid giant bugs are pretty damn cool. At the time we didn't get much of that at all in gaming. So I was able to get my Starship Troopers fill a bit with this game. Game also had grappling hook far before it became normalized in so many games. Its just not a game I cared to go back to really. I think it might be because of the human levels. They aren't as fun. The mp is also completely inaccessible.
It absolutely deserved to have one sequel at least. Like I said I'd rank it a perfectly fun playable 7/10.
LP2 MP works on Xbox series S
I was baffled to have multiple different people join my campaign after I bought it on sale to replay
Mountain Pirates were the coolest. I'm glad they let you pick whichever for multiplayer.
bup
