        Considering you can inspect the item closely in the menu, that's perfectly reasonable for its LOD0
        And yes Starfield does use a fairly robust LOD system, it actually fades to a lower LOD when you go in the menu for a while and you can see it popping back to full occasionally when you exit out, so you are definitely not seeing that level of detail at all times.

        The creation engine does not have nanite. Nor is nanite that quick unless you have a powerful computer to begin with. Also large poly counts still take up memory and storage.

        That's the point. Using an engine that makes you worry about poly count is a bigger blunder than having some unoptimized assets. Bethesda is trash, just on a deeper level.

      So far Unreal is the only engine that actually implements something like nanite, although Nvidia demoed it in 2018 for it's turing architecture GPU, RDNA probably supports it, who knows.
      Remedy's Northlight engine has changed it's renderer to worth with mesh shaders but I haven't seen anything to show that they have actually implemented them.
      I'm confused as to why nobody has implemented this tech in their games, Spiderman is an excellent use case, but nothing, Starfield yet again an excellent use case, but not done, If Metroid Prime 4 was moved to Switch 2 more than a year and a half ago then there's a good chance of it having them, Luigi's Mansion 4 will probably be the first non Unreal game to implement this tech because NLG worked with Nvidia for Luigi's Mansion 3.

      Can't use nanite with lumen.

      Lumen's virtualized implemented because of Nanite, they even mention that point in the talk they gave about Nanite.

        It's WAY smarter than auto LOD. Also it depends on the polycount, most of my nanite assets are smaller than the old LODs+4k bump maps despite having like 4x the triangle count.
