This is actually a really good game. Never played as Xenoblade game before, as I've never owned a Nintendo console, but when I finish this I'll work through them in CEMU/Yuzu

>look everyone I’m stealing from Nintendo
FRICKING have a nice day
Why does emulation make tendies so absolutely felted?
why do shitskins need to brag about stealing Nintendo games just play them with 5-10 more fps.
Imagine never experiencing XCX at 4k60.
>this is a wii u game
jesus christ
It actually looks amazing sometimes and I don't say that lightly.
it's what happens when you're not limited by throttling and a shitty battery
Yeah the switch is only more powerful on paper. In reality you have to design games around mobile mode battery life which has really fricked some of the games on the system. It's extremely unfortunate and I wish Nintendo just let its devs make games that are 'home console only' and not intended for use in mobile mode. But salarymen playing games on the train to work are a core demographic of theirs.
Frick you
>Frick you
You know these games wouldn’t exist if everyone stole them right?
thanks for beta testing
What's your point?
>Download a $60 game 100 times
>Devs lose $6000
>Copy the files back and forth between two hard drives
>Slowly drain the game studio's bank account
I don't know why but this made me laugh really hard.
it's an ancient meme that's bested time
thats the point, moron tendiepedo manchild
>I have XenoX since day 1
>still don't have Wii U
It's been a while since I played this, but tell me, did the fix infinite flying glitch and sound problem?
(IIRC, you can't change the volume of voices, soudn effects, music etc in the Options, and emulator had this bug where some sounds are too loud compared to other)
I'm still thinking about buying Wii U just to play this 'normally'...
Thanks for reminding me I still haven't played this since installing my new CPU. I can't get into BotW anyway so I guess it's back to X.
don't kid yourself, the majority of people that are emulating the game are playing at 10fps
> tendies care about graphics and performance all of a sudden
They think their room they dedicated to Nintendo merch will be devalued if people emulate instead of buying $500 sweat stained used copies of Nintendo games from them.
You don't possibly do this for free do you?
I mean I don't even know if this is bait, it has to be.
But if not, then stop breathing.
You know its obvious you're samegayging your own posts right.

As an idort (excluding xbox because there is no reason to own one if you have a gaming pc) there is literally nothing wrong with emulating nintendo games. I only still buy them for the physical addition to my collection. In fact I have almost 2x as many hours logged on CEMU Xenoblade X as I do on my physical version mostly because plugging my wii u in is inconvenient.
I will probably eventually play this on emulator once people have polished up the graphics like we have for dolphin xenoblade 1.
Is fully playable on Yuzu now?
Kil yourself, btw.
I haven't finished 3 yet so my opinion isn't final, but up until now I think the order goes 2 > 3 > 1 with the mention that gameplay-wise 2 and 3 are a lot better than 1 because their combat systems are more in-depth and 1's is very basic. I didn't really like X. The environments were amazing but I didn't like anything else about it and dropped it maybe 20h in.
Yes, it should be, though I believe OpenGL still suffers from a memory leak and at least on Vulkan there are graphical issues with some particles missing and some things appearing blindingly bright (like waterfalls and dust clouds), but there's no leak.
I see. How hard is it to run at 1080p60fps?
Also, I should be able to transfer my switch save with no issues, right?
>How hard is it to run at 1080p60fps?
Hard. I don't believe it's possible 100% of the time even with the latest hardware. Emulation still got a long way to go.
So I shouldn't even try with my R5 5600X and 2060S?
There's lots of footage of 4k60fps...
It's free to try. My 5600 and 1070 can barely hold 2k30fps
Getting a stable 60FPS will likely not happen. Resolution scaling in 3 is still kind of iffy. There are some mods to the game to disable the super blurry dynamic resolution but there's still some blur left. Using the res scaling in Yuzu kind of works to get higher rendering resolution, as in some things become a bit sharper but you're not going to get anything that's perfectly razor sharp. I'm not actually sure if more shit needs to be modded/patched out of the game or if the emulators are doing something wrong with the res scaling. In 2 you can actually disable the blurry shit and run the game at razor sharp 4k, it looks excellent.
I see. Resolution doesn't really bother me that much, but I'd like to play at 60fps.
Well, if I can get 60fps at native res I'll play on emulator, if not, I'll continue on Switch.

There are only 4 Xenoblade games: 1 (no number, Shulk's game), X (Wii U only for some godforsaken reason), 2 (which makes people seethe), and 3 which you're playing.
Xeno-series, sure, there's Xenosaga #s and Xenogears.
3 is really good. 2 is shit? I’ll play that one last then
Depends. 2 has its pros and cons. I personally didn't play it, so I can't speak for myself but Ganker anons shitpost about it alot.
>I personally didn't play it
>But I'll give an opinion anyway
This is why Ganker is a mess
2 is good, it's just very anime/tropy.
If you want to skip one, choose the first one, it's easily the most boring and forgettable.
1 is OG and great.
2 is anime tropy so the story sucks for the most part but I really enjoyed the different zones
X is GOAT but you'll never play it.
>X is GOAT but you'll never play it.
?
Pretty much this.
I will add that the aesthetics of the last few areas of 2 led to it having one of my favorite climaxes in vidya (even if the dialogue and interactions are still sort of clunky). As it stands it's my least favorite entry, but I feel like if it had the polish development time of 3 then it could've been the best. GOAT soundtrack, either way.
>the aesthetics of the last few areas of 2 led to it having one of my favorite climaxes
Just play the Xenosaga trilogy.
I did, 3 is a masterpiece.
But Morytha/Zeboim have an aesthetic of their own that is also quite good.
>I did, 3 is a masterpiece.
Is there roadmap for DLC's or any other content? Want to play but waiting for "complete" game.
I don't think Xenosaga Episode III has any planned DLC.
It will always be unfinished, unfortunately.
I was talking about normal game #3, not Saga. I mean, yeah, my bad.
Just bustin your balls! There is a road map I think the 3rd wave has the story dlc
You ok?
Next update will have a new Hero and whatever the equivalent of the Land of Challenges in XC2 is. After that I think we're getting more Heroes, more challenge fights, more sidequests and eventually a new Torna-like story scenario next year.
Play X and 2, I'd give 1 a miss personally recently went back and played the Switch remake and even with all the quality of life options it's really just not that fun to play. The story is slow and nonsensical after the first act
To me it's the reverse, I just hate how grindy X is and the QoL stuff (like how to change party) is just atrocious complete with separate Skell inventories you ALSO have to manage at one specific station you always have to run to.
X is just an endurance test. It gives the term "single player MMO" really a justification. Because it IS an MMO down to the grind. It's story is also the worst out of all of them with the least interesting party members. Also the worst OST of the series.
If anything the Torna sequel is a good entry point due to it's shorter length and simplified systems (but still very interesting).
>Also the worst OST of the series.
Nah that's 3. Sounds like generic JRPG music you'd hear in Tales mashed up with the Kingdom Hearts sound
>kingdom hearts music
>bad
I don't like the games at all, but their music is great come the frick on.
Didn't say it was bad, it has a distinct sound and it doesn't mix well with Xenoblade
1's good, 2's shit mainly due to it being a bunch of harem tropes, 3 is mediocre, its not the worst but its definitely far from being great.
X is good, just different and unrelated to the other games. Much less of a heavy focus on story, more on just exploring and has an honestly mind blowing looking open world for a Wii U game. Use Cemu for best experience.
>Much less of a heavy focus on story, more on just exploring
Sounds great. XBC2 anime story was so annoying I dropped it and sold the cartridge. And 3rd one looks boring with boring character designs. I wish they did X remake instead
It's far from being shit, it's just that 2's lighter tone (despite sometimes covering pretty dark shit) and use of shonen tropes made some people hate it for some reason.
2 is overhated. Your replies have a samegay.
>anime/tropy
>anime tropy
Some people hate 2 because of various reasons, the biggest one being that Pyra/Mythra look the way they do.
All Xenos are great games, they just focus on different things and what you might prefer in one game, you might not in the other.
X>1>>>>>>>>>3>2
xenoblade games suck now don't pay for one until we get another X
2 is on par with 1. It just makes people seethe incredibly hard for whatever reason.
There's 5, since Torna got a physical standalone release.
Didn't keep up with X2 DLC. Didn't know that.
Torna is better than the main game, widh it was longer.
Really? Goddamn I found this game utterly soulless with basically no charm
Play in this order
X (best in the series by a wide margin)
2 (very spotty but with some charm)
1 (aged like milk and with very little redeeming features)
Play in order, starting from either Xenogears or Blade 1 depending on if you're willing to go play PS1/2 era jarpigs. All of them are worth playing (saga 1 and 2 are the most contentious but they're still good)
Imo the series in terms of quality is XBCX > XBC3 > XBC2 > XBC.
XBCX feels like they had a proper design document for how every system should work together while the others are very slow and hold your hand to an insane degree, 3 by far the most. But it's story is lacklustre so I understand why people don't like it. From a game point of view it's the only Xenoblade I've 100% finished because the way the achievement system works encourages 100% completion anyway.
2 and 3 looks insanely bad are they actually good?
2 has better character design but it's more character focused than story focused.
3 was appealing to the west this time around which is why 3 is the first Xeno without any lewd designs. Story is definitely a mixed bag though.
I should have put in a power gap between XBCX and XBC3 in hindsight. 3 feels rushed, 2 WAS rushed but in a different way. Both are okay but not as good as XBCX imo simply because the stories are boring, the world isn't fun to explore lots of gatekeeping behind skills and very little in the way of organic exploration. The battle systems in 2/3 are also very fricking slow and feel like pulling teeth at times.
I've been playing 3 for 40 hours now and there's not a single thing in the game that intrigued me more than
>The peak/giant monster that comes out at night in Primordia
>The giant leaking sphere in Syvalim
>The giant tree roots in Noctilum
>The giant wheel in Oblivia
Every viewpoint in 3 is ruined by a container at just in sight to catch the eye of normies.
X is basically “all wanderlust, no story”. If you like aimless meandering and increasingly bizarre side quests you’ll love it. It’s my favourite but I fully acknowledge it’s an acquired taste.
1 is refreshing in that it feels relatively toned down and grounded for the most part (until you’re 40 hours in and it goes full Kingdom Hearts). It probably executes the “you’re exploring giant bodies” thing the best of any entr.
2 is tough to swallow depending on your palette. Very interesting world with very flavor of the month tropey writing until the latter half of the game. Whether you like it or not depends on if you stomach the first half and really appreciate the second half (for me it was too little too late but plenty of people will swear by it).
>It’s my favourite but I fully acknowledge it’s an acquired taste.
Finally someone says it. I see X elevated as the ideal, perfect video game of all time, the greatest thing that's ever happened to the medium. But it is so janky and weird that I wouldn't be surprised if a huge number of people were put off by it. I myself wasn't captivated by it at all, but really none of the Xenoblade games have managed to hold my attention beyond 20 hours. Also when people say XCX has great music it feels like they are being contrarian on purpose because the music is actually bad. I can't talk about the game at all or else I'm a "filtered secondary" but I feel like I'm taking crazy pills whenever I see this game praised. I can understand why people would like it, and I enjoy my fair share of janky, 'rough around the edges' games, but I've only ever seen people call XCX a flawless masterpiece and it's incredibly off-putting.
i mean xcx has unequivocally the crappiest xenoblade story, you pretty much just play it for the exploration and gameplay. in a series where the story is usually the main driver, it can be offputting
XCX has the best story in the series though.
>final boss whose motivations make zero sense
>that ending
>supervillain aliens
DE is good but it has by far the weakest combat and side quests literally mmo tier shit but there are some standout story moments even if they are pretty goofy.
2 is fun but pretty slow up until Chapter 4/5 when the story actually progresses a bit and you escape tutorial hell.
Tone wise 2 is a lot more lighthearted than DE but story wise I preferred 2 overall. The last 2 chapters particularly are great.
>3840x2160
how does it look so bad at that resolution?
I don't understand why people complain about anime tropes in xbc2 when it's virtually the least weeb out of all the popular jrpg series. Just admit you got filtered by the live combat and move on.
you're fricking moronic
I don't like harem tropes. Never have, never will, simple as. Its such a shame because some of the girls designs are 10/10 but they're in a shit game.
The harem is a literal retcon from 3's ending.
>i-its a retcon!
lmao, cope harder. Harem tropes doesn't necessarily mean they end up WITH a harem at the end (which he does, not amount of "its a retcon!" will change that its now canon.)
>which he does
He doesn't in the original ending
Doesn't matter anon, XB3 is canon no matter how much you try and cope about it. And again, harem tropes doesn't mean the end result is a Harem. There are plenty of harem manga and anime that do eventually end with the MC picking a girl, granted most newer ones just have the MC get every girl.
What harem tropes are there in 2?
>Giants in the clouds and the big beanstalk
>Pocket Waifus
>Friendship shonen hero
Xenos are weeb as frick and 2 overdoses on it. All xenos are literally 90s mecha animes
Yeah and the copious amounts of jrpgs with literal anime cutscenes are somehow less weeb than some shit you have to headcanon into being weeb by drawing vague parallels?
Name 5 Mecha Anime from the 90's that are like Xeno 2. I'm curious.
People take it too much at face value and ignore all the political intrigue going on in the story and the dark twists because it's Takahashi and we can never have nice things.
>people take it at face value
Yep. Even more ironic that their reductive interpretation is due to anime brain rot. Some how a guy with wild spiky hair that does nothing but teleports behind you isn't anime but a diver sending money to his village is peak week. It makes no fricking sense. Which is why you get morons like this
that can't articulate a thought for the life of them hating on it.
All the good ones are available on Switch
The series creator, Tetsuya Takahashi, made sure of that so newcomers could enjoy the series fully on one device
Tried to emulate XC2 and quite liked it so now I'm trying to bumrush through XC1 first so I can play them in order. Long ass game though, I've just finished Prison Island and I feel like I'm nowhere near close to the end.
Prison island is at the 50% mark. Imo xc1 is boring as shit but I can respect wanting to play them all in order, not that you need to though.
At Prison Island, you're either 30% through the game or 90%
You'll burn out long before you finish 1 & 2. They're all like 70 hours each.
Yuzu doesn't crash anymore? Is the memory leak fixed?
Year it’s fixed. Playing on a 6600XT on Vulkan, 2x res 30fps no crashes in 15 hours.
game doesn't even start on vulkan?
You using EA? They fixed it like last week
Works fine on EA with AMD/Vulkan homie
>combine taskbar icons
poor zoomers, not knowing how to use windows anymore.
You can't even uncombine them on Win 11
>g.g.g.guys we need click money, come download on OUR site.
Fireworks with lameass kids during our Queen's anniversary?
I don't care about that.
The City dwellers being retconned out of reality?
Well, they can be born again. I will help.
Now, excuse me. I hear a mating call from my kitten.
>The City dwellers being retconned out of reality?
>Well, they can be born again. I will help.
You failed, Noah. Given that she was added to origin to be part of the cycle, it's likely that Shania is the only character born from 3's world that hasn't been retconned out of existence.
They can still be born naturally if the same people hook up, although it's a task for literally a thousand years into the future.
But generally speaking that's probably the only truly disturbing aspect of the ending.
Just got the strategos class. Man what a bland as frick class, i can barely register when i do an arts. At least the outfit is cool
>already at level 35 from exploring
>main story missions are still 20ish
should I just stick to the main story and leave side stuff to a second playthrough
yeah it's really easy to overlevel in this
it did what you suggested when I played
Its one of my major complaints in the game. Its as bad as it was in 1, but at least there you had the option of expert and deleveling yourself. I really dont understand how they missed something so obvious
They really, REALLY expected most players to steamroll the story. I was level 30 during Chapter 3 just from the three hero quests and I was taking pains to only fight rare enemies.
They did not do even that, when i got to the final boss was 6 levels under them
>Which are the best
X > 2 > Torna > 3 > 1. They're all great though.
DE: 7/10
Future Connected: 2/10
2: 7.5/10
Torna: 6/10
3: 8.5/10
Haven't played X yet.
Is Future connected really that bad? Never played it, just asking
Not him but by far the worst Xeno game. There's not anything explicitly awful about it, but it also offers absolutely nothing new or noteworthy.
>one (1) bland, grass land area
>zero memorable characters
>zero interesting story beats
>combat copy-pasted directly from 1 with chain attacks removed and less party member options
>half of the soundtrack reused from the base game
Not even Xenosaga EpII left such a bad taste in my mouth.
It didn't leave a bad taste in my mouth because I viewed it as bonus content. I bought DE for a remake of 1 and got a free epilogue chapter. It would have been better to have reworked the shoulder back into the main game but it probably needed too much moving stuff around, and Melia doesn't sound the same anymore and it would have been jarring to have it in the middle of the game.
Does 3 have a mor ardain day theme equivalent? The whole OST feels a step down from 2 to me.
no
Fricking lame
I'm halfway through Chapter 4, but so far, no. 3's entire OST seems purposefully crafted to put me to sleep. I guess I can see what they were trying to aim for - some kind of melancholic ambiance - but it doesn't make for entertaining vidya. If this gets nominated for best OST and 2 and DE weren't I'll know for sure the VGAs have an agenda.
>If this gets nominated for best OST and 2 and DE weren't I'll know for sure the VGAs have an agenda.
NTA
We know that, anon. I'm still pissed because in 2020. Void Terrarium wasn't even nominated.
I'm up to Eryth Sea in chapter 5 and there's not a single zone theme that stands out. Battle themes are solid as always, but this is a serious step down from 2. Tantal (Night) is still nothing short of amazing 5 years later.
I have more respect for people who emulate this on PC than for people who play it on hacked Switch and claim they are fans of the series.
I like that 2 has a shitton of cool/cute blades. Is there an equivalent in 3 or you're playing with the same 6 boring c**ts?
>nearing the end of Chapter 3
>cutscene
>game has me walk 180m
>cutscene
>game has me walk another 200m
>cutscene
I hated this shit in Xeno 2, just give me a big cutscene. Don't "break it up" with maybe a battle or two in-between
you are going to fricking love the end of chapter 5
I already hear Chapter 5 is a long cutscene with boss fights mixed in
I don't play any game besides 2
The rest are censored shit
How did you play 2? Brazil doesn't even have the game.
i don't like ending
feel hollow
more like please buy SEASON PASS
shit start getting lame after chapter 5 anon
Yeah, the story dropped the ball pretty hard after the start of chapter 6, it's like they had everything planned only to reach the homecoming because that's a scene they thought the whole game's story around but then remembered that it couldn't really be used as an ending and they had to do one fast, so they made the smallest area in the game, a fetch quest around the world and just threw in characters they had no idea how to use in the plot despite them being teased since almost the start of the game.
The game basically becomes our most hated game of 2022 during the ending. There's a reason you hear nothing but hated things about this game.
>cant play as heroes
>45 hours
>still on chapter 3
>Get to prison level
>Uhm you're not allowed to use a interlink here, it'll cause suspicious
>But however, you're allowed to bring a fricking MOEBIUS HERO WITH YOU
m8 you fookin wat
how come i cant get my other party members to inherit soul hacker and lost vanguard? ive had no issues with inheriting the other classes so far, some are slow, but these wont budge, and i have both lanz and triton in my team at level 10 and other characters still wont learn the class
Are you fighting enemies at/above your level? Class inheritance works on the same principle as CP gains so if you're only fighting low level mobs it's gonna be a long grind.
How does Sena manage to be less than a side character in her own capstone sidequest? Is this some super keikaku meta commentary by the devs on how little self esteem she has?
funny looking at old archived xeno 3 threads and seeing how close people are to the twists of the game
You are playing the worst one right now
i only played x
dunno what to think about 3
i like the party a hell lot more than the one in x especially because the mc in x is a mute non-character
i like the story so far into chapter 4. x’s story was bad even if you take away the trash-tier ending
i think the combat is slightly worse than x. chain attacks is kinda boring and the heavy reliance on party mechanics with weird ai and design choices let it down. healers have tiny aoe heals and buffs but enemies have tank cleaves and dps are running around everywhere due to positionals. you lose dps for moving so it feels very clunky
the environments are really boring
somehow i still can’t put the game down. i think the class system is really fun and incentivises exploration and experimenting with builds a lot. it’s kind of hampered by the shittastic cp system that punishes you for overlevelling but i just slapped on a cp multiplier cheat lol. also i love the party so i feel like i’m able to tolerate a lot of crap just to go on a journey with them
It's so striking how incredibly bad it looks compared to genshin impact, when it's the same type of fantasy jrpg setting
>my autism insists i map out each area fully
>enter erythia sea
Tell me about it. I'm still on chapter 3.
>not emulating
If you want to shitpost, go to another thread favelaBlack person.
Not him, but emulation was buggy shit when the game leaked. Not worth dealing with that, so I'll just play on real hardware.
literally the vegans of vidya
Maps get filled when you get all landmarks and secret locations, like always. Don't be so autistic that you need to do it before you can get the last landmark.
>even the map is ugly as frick
i did it in xenoblade 1 with eryth sea, ill do it again.
like ok skell combat isn’t exactly engaging but skells are so cool. i love that all the weapons and frames are reflected on the robot itself and they have cool animations especially the superweapons and the transformers mode all the skells can do
if they made skell combat fun and engaging + make the transformers feature actually useful i’d diehard simp for x regardless of how shitty the story or ground combat was
it’s also why i want an x2 so bad
x has more good ideas than it does good execution but that’s all the more reason to revisit it. personally I want them to do more with the aliens (some races would make very interesting party members and getting their arms manufacturers to see their new armors was always a highlight)
I would actively fight without the skells as much as possible because the combat was so bad. Not that on the ground was much better. I always see people complain about the story, but combat in X is the weakest part by far - saved only by how good the custom class system is.
Does using a hero unlock their class for people without it or does it have to be one of your party doing it?
Both pass it on.
>"ok with one chain attack here I should be able to beat this boss"
>hero order doesn't show up
>"ok maybe I can make do somehow with one gear order, get in as much arts as possible"
>first art fills up 100+% of the bar
>do like 1/4 of the total damage I expected to do
>boss goes apeshit in rage and kills everyone
man
>Noah gets to tap this
A downgrade from her mother.
i want to play X but cemu filtered me, i couldn't ever seem to get the keys to work and i got frustrated and gave up. all the X shilling in this thread makes me want to try again, though
no one knows that nia is mio’s mom
it is literally headcanon stop posting as if it’s fact
This. You think Nia would mention this when she literally joins the party.
do her side quest
Pay attention. It's heavily hinted. You sound like the schizo who keeps saying for about a month now that there was no hint about Rex loving Nia in 2.
Why doesn't Nia say anything?
There's no point. Did you expect Nia to reveal to the party that she was married to her world's hero too?
Why not?
there was no hint about rex loving nia in 2 though, beyond him saying "we'll talk about this later"
is Interlink lv3 chain attack a noob trap? I do about 2x more damage with a regular chain attack but getting a hero order for a 5x chain relies on luck
I think it is. 5x regular chain seems much better but I'm still in chapter 7 not doing endgame uniques etc
I wanna play Xenoblade 3 on an emu
Anylinks to the rom?
nxbrew
Why can't they top X?
>better enemy designs/models
>better draw distance
>seamless world
>faster movement
>higher resolution
>better framerate
>all on weaker hardware
Literally the only thing that looks notably worse is the character models. What went wrong?
I'm still really enjoying 3 and it's fixing to be my second favorite behind X, but it's hard not to be disappointed when you look at them side by side.
I actually really like X's character models, besides a lot of the faces. I'm not sure what it is.
I guess everybody is just somehow well proportioned, or something?
I'd say the proportions are good in 3 as well, but 1 and especially 2 were definitely wonky. Seeing Rex, Pyra and Vandham standing next to each other looked so fricking moronic.
But yeah I liked the models in X as well, faces aside. The armor designs were fricking stellar as well and don't get enough credit.
So chances are, even if we ever get an X2, it will still be gimped? That is beyond tragic.
>So chances are, even if we ever get an X2, it will still be gimped?
Shouldn't new game be IX
1, 2, 3, 4, 5
and
X, IX, VIII, VII, VI
It was the last time they had most of their staff working on one of their own games. There's Monolith staff who worked on 1 and X who STILL haven't gone back. Norihiro Takami, the art director for 1 and X who also worked on enemy design and motion capture, has been doing Zelda cutscenes ever since X just to name one example.
There's a lot of things in X that just feel great and somehow never came back, too. Movement and the open world as you mentioned but also the enemy bestiary that goes into each unique species and has full stats, collectibles having descriptions and illustrations.
I like everything about X except for the Nopon fella, and to be fair I hate every Nopon in the series
3 is like a hybrid between 2 and X.
I love it, but yeah.
X >>> X3 > X2 >>> X1
X>>>1>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
faeces>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>2>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>3
FTFY
Then why does it suck in basically every aspect, hmm?
Characters are better than any in any previous game EXCEPT Tourna
Big party size is nice
Job customisation is great
Battle system is the second best, behind 2
Environments are good
Goddamnit! Now you fricks make me want to play 3. X is like my favorite game. 1 bored me right from the start. 2 was better, still not pushing the right buttons. Is 3 really closer to X?
that's just a shill
Jeh due to having colonies which will tickle your X autism.
>This is actually a really good game
If you need to say this, it is not a good game.
I'm in Chapter 3 and fricking hell the story and pacing is so fricking dire bros. The only thing that's hooked me is Mio dying soon and awaiting a twist regarding it. But every story beat feels like shit that should be in side quests while the team scramble to get to the Sword Does it get better?
Story picks up towards the end of chapter 4. Overall, it has the best plot of the Xenoblades. But IMO the highs are not as high as the best points of 1 and 2, it's just that it doesn't go to shit like 1 did or spend 40 hours in the doldrums like 2 did.
Can't stand the battle system in these games. How do we go from xenogears fun turn based system to an mmorpg system on a single player game?
Where do I download the shaders for yuzu
Turn on async compilation and let them compile themselves, it's pretty seamless on both my very mid range 3600 and 12400 systems
It’s interesting that you jumped straight into 3 and enjoyed it. Something about it made me want to do the same but I think I’m going to play them in order.
Play on hard mode. Some bosses are moronic and it’s obvious no one play tested this trash (Moebius B in particular).
Why is it so ugly
That pic looks significantly better than my game. Is the emulated version upscaled?
On that note, why is XB 3 so much uglier than its predecessors? Everything looks like a blurry/pixely mud.
@FBI
All of them are good. Also if you enjoy the games please support the developers
What's the best way to emulate the PS2 now?
1 has the best overall plot, 2 has the best characters, 3 so far has the best gameplay, X is kind of like a proto-3.
>Taion figures out how to fight M
I like it when characters are actually useful, Taion is fricking based.
ryujinx vulkan is really coming along
dios mio
Funny how the devs have fixes for everthing but that, but they're stuck in code review hell
Do the various colony leader Ascension quests require doing every quest in their colony to become available? Or does it depend on the affinity with the colony? Or do they just need a few certain quests done as part of a chain?
fwiw teach's unlocks after doing the teaching questline in colony gamma which kind of makes sense since it's quite linear.
i'm not as sure about lambda/tau/iota/9 since they have a bunch of sidequests going at once and it's not entirely obvious if any/some/all are required
Looks so much better than on my Switch 🙁
is actual 4k here or this youtuber clickbaiting?
Who cares, we all hate this game anyway.
Literally this, check this other thread
for proof. We hate XB3 so much that we basically derailed it into a XCX thread.

doesnt seem any diff from the old mods?
Is anyone else running into the problem where the sidequests feel non-canon and bizzare with how weird the commanders act, how the consuls act, and how inconsequential the rest of the colony people are or their flame clocks or how stilted the dialogue is. Sidequests and heroquests feel non-canon.
Main quest meanwhile has some really badly handled tokusatsu-tier villains (which could be executed well!) that take me out of it.
I'm actually loving the MC cast interaction scenes the most going through the game along with the gameplay itself.
Also the subs don't seem accurate?
I hate to bring up X amidst all of the shitposting going on in these threads, but X seriously did a much better job of showing discontent between groups than 3 did despite it being a big focus and 3 and merely the topic of a few side quests in X.
After I recruited Valdi and realized colony liberation quests would be a large optional component I got excited, but in actuality the colony liberations just feel like an afterthought that happens in the middle of an unrelated hero quest. Same goes for the consuls that unceremoniously frick off whenever you free a colony. The concept is awesome but it just feels underbaked.
Well of course, XCX was the last time this series was ever good! There's a reason XC2 and now XC3 are some of our most hated games ever.
>I hate to bring up X amidst all of the shitposting going on in these threads, but X seriously did a much better job of showing discontent between groups than 3 did despite it being a big focus and 3 and merely the topic of a few side quests in X.
That's why we tell all newcomers to Xenoblade to stick to XC1 and XCX. XC2 and XC3 should never have been made.
How come 1 gets a pass? After the first third of the game, it descends into the same anime soup as 2 is the whole way through.
This. The mainline games are mushy anime poop that turn us off almost instantly. We prefer X because it has almost none of that.
1gays are shitposters and/or genuine morons

Xenoblade 3 has the worst story and writing and gameplay and music and...................basically everything in the series. Just stick to XCX and forget anything after that exists!

Everyone ITT is of the unanimous belief that XB3 sucks in every way.
And with that, we BTFO basically every aspect of XB3. It's the worst game of 2022. Bar. None.
Uhmmmmmmmm it's X*C*, chud. If you want to play XENOBLADE, go to Japan. We play Xenoblade CHRONICLES here, you muddin sparker.
xbc3 is pretty god tho. much better than 1 and 2
don't give the discord raiders any (You)s and they'll frick off
The hero quests are mostly terrible. If you played one per week they'd feel no different than a monster-of-the-week anime episode.
What's the coolest weapon and why is it the Photon Saber?
It's dual guns. It's always dual guns. It's Junior in Saga, it's Full Metal Jaguar in X, it's Minoth in Torna and Gray in 3. Sky High is THE coolest art animation in the franchise's history.
You WILL either love or hate the game for whether it has big breasted women in skimpy clothing or not!
Really though, does the class system get any better? Still in Chapter 3 but feel like the game wants me to have characters constantly swapping classes even if the characters don't benefit from the classes themselves, just for the sake of not wasting CP gain and party composition.
so how did snoy get so bad? the level of derangement they've achieved is quite impressive
Here it is anons, the updated mods for the game:
https://github.com/theboy181/switch-ptchtxt-mods/tree/main/Xenoblade%20Chronicles%203/%5B010074F013262000%5D/1.1.0
Just copy/paste the folders into the mods folder and set the emulator to 1x.
frick off shill
How the frick am I a shill if it's the only 21:9 and proper upscale mod available you stupid monkey
Does it work on the unpatched version?
how's the most recent Yuzu, lads? Is the memory leak fixed on the main OpenGL branch yet?
I'm still using the Chink Build.
Yuzu EA2890 SUPPOSEDLY fixes the yellow piss water and super bright wind. Haven't had a chance to check it yet (Vulkan build)
It doesn't. This gay on his discord has a mod for it but he won't make it public unless you pay (though the amount seemingly doesn't matter.
what PS2 game is this
Textures look just like the PS5 so Snoys should enjoy it too

Mature game for mature gamers
superior nopon steel folded over 9000 times
do they ever explain what the sword is?
Yes, in the very flashback where it's first introduced. What more do you need than it being a magic sword made by furballs?
who smithed it? why? what made the method so special? was the material exotic? where did it come from? how did they get ahold of it? how does the sword really measure up power-wise in the grand scheme of things, like is it truly ultimate? why does riku have it? why does no one else know about it or tried to steal such an unimaginably powerful artifact? how does noah store it without it slicing into anything that tries to hold it?
7 legendary Nopon using 7 types of steel over 7 years. That's all you need to know.
that’s an utter non-sequitur within the story and world of xc3 and you know it. it’s almost joke-tier
I agree.
Technically speaking, it's absolute garbage nopon steel ergo bend over 9000 times to make it """"""decent""""""
It's the 3rd xenoblade
i wanna play these games but i'm afraid of long boring animu cutscenes. are the cutscenes short? if they're long can i skip them and still understand what's happening? i love old jrpgs but the new ones are all cutscene simulators it's so goddam boring
frick off moron
i knew it it's all cutscenes. pass
>hurrr durrr shud I play part 3 of an RPG series durr hurrr its new so zoom zoom must consoom even if I dont know wut it is lol hurrr durrrrrrrrr
i said i wanted to play the series, and your response has nothing to do with my question anyway
thanks dude i'm still planning on playing these i think. obviously i'll start with the first one
>are the cutscenes short? if they're long can i skip them and still understand what's happening?
No and no. Most importantly is that the gameplay is terrible though. The cutscenes can be enjoyable.
I like how you're seething about 3 when he said he wanted to play the series.
frick off, moron. There is no newbie new enough here to not fricking know what JRPGs are like. Yes, there are a lot of fricking cutscenes. Now frick off.
You don't have to be a newbie to not know about a Nintendo exclusive niche JRPG you autist.
If possible check out the original instead of the remaster, the remaster fricked up the visual presentation. It's pretty ugly. Then play X before 2 even if you drop the first game, it's a bit different and you might like it.
a big thing about takahashi's games is there does tend to be some fairly long cutscenes but there's enough meat of the game itself to balance it out
cool
reminder that agnus is the Black person dimension
XC1 was solid. Good foundation but is your standard Man vs Fate story. It's good soil to build off from.
XC2 also solid but poor voice direction and the gacha mechanic is a tumor on it. Story is better than 1s because it both builds off 1 and is a Man vs Man story, meaning both sides of the conflict are very fleshed out to make it compelling.
XC3 is continued improvement but by choosing a Man vs World story fundamentally focuses less on making every character well fleshed out and is more about the characters overturning the order of the World and addressing every reason why they shouldn't. It's compelling though and plays well with it's concepts and the game is good
XCX is good but flawed it does so many things right but Takashi got too wienery after 1 and thought he could get away with not telling a complete story and it bit him in the ass. The main cast is the weakest of the games (Save for Elma who probably could have carried the entire game if she was the protagonist) and the character art direction exist in an uncanny middle ground. Best world of all the games though.
Takashi really just needs to take a world like X and focus on character writing like in 2/3 and he'd have perfect JRPG because when he hits HE HITS, it's just that he can't hit perfectly 10/10 times and when he misses he misses hard
>chapter 5 ending
a man being cucked to death
It's the lowest point of the crew before we take a dive into the CHAIR DIMENSION from Xenogears for 2 hours
Oh shit, not the chair dimension
I love convoluted JRPG shit, so I was on the edge of my seat for all 4 hours of it.
AMDbros what am I doing wrong? I can never get above 40-50 fps with the 60 fps mod, even if I turn off all other mods and dump the internal resolution to 0.5x. I have a 6900xt and ryzen 5600x that are both not at 100% utilization. what do?
I'm overleveled just so I can run parties with a single class
It sucked since fighting enemies higher level than you is the best way to level up classes. Of course I was overleveled most of the game since I wanted to find all the side colonies and classes and finished in the high 90s.
I really want to go 6 Ogres and try to knockback a boss/UM off of a cliff at some point. Almost thought I did it with Teach, but they put a barrier in to prevent it
Man, you just reminded me of my Moebius M fight. Sena accidentally hit her with Launch when I started a chain attack so she flipped 360 degrees continuously for what felt like ten minutes before promptly dying. It was almost as comical as Taion!M saying “I lied”, I was crying laughing when this stuff was playing out
This but with OP. Launch is the best status condition in vidya history, I'm glad they brought it back from 2 and made it even more ridiculous.
makes me laugh every time
I just accepted that the game will be piss easy. I'd rather have fun exploring and playing naturally than autisticly planning out the zones by level or whatever.
Game left me with a few questions and predictions.
First of mobius Z, what exactly is he? I understood it as the fears and wants of the two universes somehow given form through the energy unleashed as the two universes began to clash into one another, is this the right idea?
Second, does this third world with the b***hqueen and CO persist in a trinity with the other two or what the hell happened to them? Is mechon sword and uraya just copies copied from the origin or will they not go back to their original universe just like the people (or souls I suppose)
By the end it looks like the worlds rebooted at the desired time leaving the people of said worlds oblivious to what their souls went through. Obviously at some point in what i presume to be the chapter 8 dlc they will begin to remember their time in Ionios, at least the main cast. What is the mechanism with which they will be able to reunite? Will it perhaps be due to the return of the Zohar?
Will Melia and Nia retain their memories of Ionios or will they be subject to the reboot as well? Is hiding the truth of Mios ancestry the reason why we do not get to see te Angus side at the beggining/end?
>Z
I think that's about it, yes. Something about the Origin turned all of those stored minds into what became Z
>World
It's a failed fusion. The merge between the two worlds began, but instead of completely forming another world, Z froze it into Ionios. The other two worlds stop existing once the merge is complete.
>DLC
They're going to meet because the worlds will merge again in the future, but correctly this time. What that will look like we don't really know.
>memories
Don't really know this one. I assume they have partial memories like everyone else.
>Z
Origin was to collect and house all the information on the souls of everyone from both worlds so that they could be remade after the intersection ended. That much collective human unconscious manifested into an existence known as Z and the greater Moebius whole. Everyone being afraid that the plan wouldn't work and that everyone would just die and how they wished they could instead live forever in the moment before it all happens. Z manifests, inside Origin and the Collective Unconsciousness wills the worlds to stop as by Shulk's design in XB1 "everyone gets to decide the future"
>Third world
That's unknowable. It was a failed fusion but you're correct in the assumption that we do have people who were born there that don't technically belong to either other world. We'll probably find out in the future what happened
>Worlds connected
Memories are etched onto peoples souls. They can't be scrubbed off and it only takes the right stimuli to wake them up as in the ending. The worlds are likely close enough/connected enough after the intersection that people can just slip between em as they slowly settle back into one universe.
>Melia and Nia
Everyone will retain the memories. It just depends on how much they reawaken too. If they are just fleeting dreams and nightmares or if the entire experience is brought back to them
Bitchqueen and Gonorrhea were likely cast into the depths of hell
Why does it look so much worse than a freakin 13 year old PS3 game?
homie, FF16 looks worse than 13
and it's coming out on more powerful console.
This is what I really don't get. Well, it's just as surreal as Xenoblade X looking better than all 3 games that followed, I guess.
Yeah nevermind, both situations make literally no sense. Why did Japan stagnate so badly?
Graphics have mostly stagnated. Whatever is looking better since 2010 is mostly brute-forcing with stronger hardware for minimum gains. That's part of the reason they brought back the ray-tracing meme, so the games can look a little better for huge hardware demand. A marketing tactic mostly.
Western art styles are nothing to write home about most times but the graphics are good.
Chinese and Korean games aren't stagnating either.
16 is apparently a lot more open in general, whereas 13 is almost entirely tight corridors.
Yes, I know there's a whole "open world" zone, but it looks like flaming shit.
You look at that minimap on the top right corner of your image and tell me.
No excuse.
Xenoblade 3 not only has 2d flat cardboard trees the close up character models are PS2 tier.
A lot of "fps killing" (provided to you by Nvidia, please buy one next card) effects don't look good but they do kill fps. All you need is good enough texture quality, proper lighting and level design, it all was achieved decade ago.
Final Fantasy was never this pretty again
>photo realism
YUCK
Nice fricking cherrypicked screenshot lmao, why don't you post a pic of its """"overworld"""?
Canon hair in toilet moron
I literally cannot stop looking at eunie's ass all the time, it doesnt help that everytime I load into another zone it zooms in on her ass if you have her as the leader
Do I need to play the previous games first or can I just start with 3? Is the story all connected
3 makes references to characters and locations from 1 and 2, but you don't really need to play the others to understand it.
the very very end of xb2 references xb1 and kinda ties them together but otherwise they're completely separate and you'll lose close to nothing by playing 2 without playing 1.
3 ties into the previous games a bit heavier than that but i think you can easily play 3 standalone and have a good experience and you'd be able to go back and play 1 and 2 later to get a feel for how it all ties in.
Just got the scene where they exchanged flutes. IT WAS LEWD

In fact, XB3 might be the last vidya I play. I've been phasing out of the hobby for a few years now, and in fact hadn't played anything in months before this. Just needed my Xeno-closure I guess.

>owns Xenosaga series in full.
I kneel. That series is 10x better than Xenoblade shit
peak contrarianism
nobody actually believes that
Not the investors who got burned, not Namco, not Nintendo, Not Sony, not the fans, not Takeshi himself
lmao
Xenosaga 1 had a great foundation, its MAIN drawback is the lack of music everywhere (you'd know that if (you) played it.
Xenosaga 2 had a complex battle system and weaker story sure, but XS3 was a damn masterpiece and had a godsent soundtrack and characters.
The main issue with Xenosaga is the lack of episode 4. But sure, """"contrarianism""", stay moronic.
The ONLY thing that Xenoblade does better is arguably the open world, everything else Xenosaga does better
NTA
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Xenosaga is missing 4 and 5. Xenosaga was supposed to have 6 titles.
You can see how rushed 3 is. Also, XS2 is the best, even though KOS MOS looks like she's 46 and barely has any lines. Ziggy best character in trilogy.
no, it's MAIN drawback (that you'd know if (you) played it) is its shit pacing. As usual, Takehashi himself admits the game was fricked on gameplay as he went too hard on the story. Timelines were missed and the game barely escaped dev hell, but the absolute dogshit pacing through all three titles shows and shows hard.
It deserves its shit scores and shit reputation. But everyone is just plebs except for you, the True Master of Taste™, right, tardo? Also, have a nice day for simping for the WORST Xeno protag bar fricking none.
Sure man. Even the director of the game is wrong, right? It's a masterpiece that nobody but you can see KEK
>“We released three games in the Xenosaga series, but they weren’t very well received,” Takahashi admits. “It was really mortifying. All of the young team members felt that way, not just the leaders. So we all decided, ‘Next time we need to make a game that players will enjoy (Xenoblade).’
I have never played a xenoblade game, guess i'm dead then.
>get an option to choose which hairstyle you prefer

Buy switches if you want to play
I have a Switch.
It is covered in dust.
I am playing this on emulator.
I played my last 5 Switch games on emulator as well.
What are you going to do about it b***h Black person?
Whats that little timer that appears at battles some times
Up under the health bar? If you fight a Unique Monster (the ones with orange wings on their health) the game tracks how long it takes you to win.
they are unique boss monsters.
they spawn a grave site when you kill them and you can fight them again.
the timer is just to see how fast you can beat them. it really doesnt mean shit but obviously the monsters are going to be much harder than regular ones and the blue icon ones.
How'd you get the resolution so high on your Switch?
either pretending to be stupid or actually moronic
X is still my personal favorite Xeno game of the Blade series, but 3 is really good and probably my second favorite just beating out 1 due to how simplistic that game is which while good is kinda underwhelming going back to it. 2's combat system is also notable but damn does it really make you have to work for it like with the shitty gacha system first, then affinity chart, then affinity rank to S+ and then farming for the legendary aux/equips which is not that bad anymore I guess. Its one of the rare example of "Yes you should rush to new game + to make grinding far less shitty".
>Hana/Poppi's last form is god tier
>You either have to rush to New Game + or grind that shitty minigame to max her out
Fricking shit man.
Oh and farming chips, boring as hell too.
>I am level 50
>at the end of Chapter 4
>no bonus EXP used at all yet
FFS Monolith, your games shit all over nuTales and FF, but you desperately need to hire an intern for pacing
Do you just want people to NOT wander around your worlds or something?
I was level 46 in chapter 3 kek. On one hand exploring a region the first time you come into it is easier and less backtracking later on, but then your classes get all messed up and the main story becomes a joke.
I just got Valdi. My team is lv 46 and I have 46 hours of playtime.
I know I should play the main story, but frick it. I want to clear the map.
I would love to clear monsters in first map to "enable" item creating machine, but IIRC all the monsters are lv 60 and I don't think I can take them, especially because I'm playing on hard.
You know what's the funnies part? 200k dmg is the max damage I did in combo. Only 200k. I don't even follow the break, topple, launch or whatever the pattern is. I just hit how I want.
