This is Bethesda games most impressively boring, soulless, corporate, shitty game ever made.
At least oblivion and fallout 3 were somewhat enjoyable and had fun gameplay. The MC says "war never changes" at the start and a loading screen showing a fully detailed synth robot with the text "the institute is an evil boogeyman" pops up right before you even leave the vault, spoiling the entire story. This game never becomes fun at any point. Frick you shitposters are leading to me believe that it's actually decent.

Is it even worse than Star "endless loading screens for procedural slop" Field?

Haven't played that yet. If it's even worse than 4 I don't think I ever will.

It worse. Think fallout 4 but between each generic shooting location, there's 7 loading screens

Fallout 4 is a fantastic game for normal people, as you have to play the survival mode without mods and roleplay as Nate/Nora. Therefore it's nothing for terminally online freaks

    Fallout 4 is meh
Fallout 4 VR (fixed with mods) is top tier gameplay

It's upsetting to me that Bethesda doesn't just hire the modders who fixed Fallout 4 VR to put out a new edition of Fo4 VR. It would easily be the best VR RPG ever made

Fallout 4 has the best gameplay of the FPS/Third Person Fallout games. It's the writing that drags it down

The concepts are really good sometimes but there just isnt good follow through. Like Diamond city is terrified of synths for years and yet there really isnt anything that ever really happens there. The Minutemen are a neat concept but its just about saving farms and nothing more. There just isnt any pay offs to these concepts except a bit of exposition.

Yeah, talk about wasted potential. Even the shit factions like the Railroad could have been made interesting if the game went in hard on the "are synths really escaping the institute if their personalities and memories are wiped?" angle.

It would have also been cool if the Institute/Minutement/BoS could occupy places like Concord or Quincy and turn them into NPC-run cities to help sell the idea of rebuilding and developing the Commonwealth beyond just the player's own settlements.

Even the Institute is such a great concept that literally goes absolutely nowhere. Its insane that the main focal point to the entirety of Fallout 4 just sort of is there and nothing more. It basically boils down to a bunch of nerds underground developing next level technology just because. No grand scheme. No end goal. Virtually just cause they dont want to go outside and could essentially make slaves. No other purpose. What a colossal waste on a great premise.

It's a damn shame. If more thought and depth had been put into the writing, we could have gotten the GOAT Fallout game

i can't for the life of me have any fun with this game. every fricking corner of the map is full of raiders, muties and ghouls trying to kill me. almost every quest is the same: go to place, kill everything, retrieve object. there are no rewards for doing anything, the only way the game "rewards" you is by giving you a damn near useless "legendary" item that does some shit like giving you 5% damage resistance against bugs or some shit like that. there are no consequences for doing anything. you'll be killing every raider in a building and the map will say you cleared that location, but a couple days later almost the exact same enemies will return.
