if you alert one enemy they all shoot at you instantly and kill you even if you are hiding in a bush, they also shoot through fricking houses. the ai is cracked out and prefires you around corners
i genuinely think this is the hardest thing ive ever play

Shooting through houses and tents is a bug with the last steam update. Download a patch.

The earlier FC games were hard as hell. The newer ones got easier with 6 being the easiest
Stealth from 3 onwards is babby mode. Using a silenced sniper in any of them is basically cheating.
The only thing hard about 2 is getting run over by all the fricking trucks on the roads. Getting shot isn't even a concern, it's the fricking vehicles that will run you over and insta-kill you.

Agreed. FC1 had some amazingly large and very pretty areas to explore around. Compared to the closed in areas of FC2, FC2 seemed like a step backwards.
it's the best far cry because it's insane. like others have said check for patches, it exhibits some odd behavior here and there on newer systems, iirc
I beat Far Cry 1 on Realistic. I did experience the shooting-through-tents bug, and the on-rails truck sequence was sucky because you can't take cover, but otherwise I thought it was hard but mostly fair. I remember hiding in bushes working really well. Sure it's not perfect but I camped in bushes plenty of times and headshot dudes with my silenced mp5(?). Yes you can get sniped from far away, but you can also snipe them from far away--is that "unfair"? Tag them with the binoculars and use your radar. Use every trick you can to win, it's fun. Probably one of the hardest overall FPSes I've played, but it felt like an awesome adventure by the end. And some of those maps are simply huge and still impressive, like the boat level.

Crysis is much easier because the enemies aren't as aggressive or snipe-happy, you have regenerating armor, and also regenerating energy for your Predator-invisibility. Still fun.

I may be misremember, but I think tagging enemies with your binocs makes them permanently show up on your radar as little arrows. Useful when you're hiding behind a rock or whatever and want to know which way they're going and when they're going to pop out.

Its not hard, its badly programmed. Might as well be a blank map because the enemies just shoot you through everything.
