>40k Dawn of War
dark crusade was really good too, probably my favourite 40k game. I wish it was a bit longer but it still has a lot of replay value because of all the different factions
Yep. Starcraft was the straight evolution from Warcraft 2. You can clearly see the same DNA in both games. WC3 is completely different. It has some of the classic controls, but aesthetics, dynamics are all "modern" in a pejorative way. It all started the trend of the stupid side missions of the "grab 3 items on the map" style, and had that stupid RPG element as well. I also didn't care about those worthless npc fights.
Starcraft and Tiberian Sun are the two games where both franchises peaked, although I like Red Alert 2 too, because it's insanely polished (although can't match Tiberian Sun's atmosphere).
I miss the graphics of re2 and tiberium sun, impressions game graphics like Pharoah cleopatra, Gettysburg and civ 3 graphics. I guess those are 2d or semi 2d isometric from the late 90s, kind of early 2000s, seems like they were trying to get away from 2d or semi 2d in early 2000s though.
It's up there but Starcraft, AOE2, 40k Dawn of War, and Warcraft 3 still beat it. Still easily be C&C game at least.

I hate Blizzard RTS games but I do like AOE2
What's wrong with WC2 and SC1? They're fine imo. WC3 is where the cancer has started.
I never liked their fantasy worlds and their stories never interested me like Westwood did.

I like all of them and have thousands of hours in all mentioned, except 40k and I wouldn't put any of them over any of the others.
Yep
do you play on cncnet?
I never played Age of Empires but I’m a big history nerd and I want to get into it. Is Age of Mythology any good?
>Is Age of Mythology any good?
yeah it's good. I like it more than the other age of empires really. AOE 3 was good too
Really loved yuri's revenge. Spent a lot of time playing ra2

i can't believe they're monitoring the torrent and sending DMCAs for this old game
Not even close

best ones i can think of
there are only 4 good RTS games
StarCraft
WarCraft 3
C&C 3 Kane's Wrath
...and Goblin Commander: Unleash the Horde
>WC3
>C&C3
Mediocre taste. Not outright shit, just mediocre.
>warcraft 3
>mediocre
world editor alone makes it better than basically anything else ever made
