I played it only because I like westerns, but I really liked it for what it is. One of the few games that made me laugh.
How's the original web game? Is it dead?
the combat is pretty easy, make sure you take the hard hat and no companion for the optimum experience.
most of the gameplay is fetch quests where usually you'll have a choice of either harder than normal combat or a puzzle. I recommend going for the stat checks because they're typically the most hilarious options. Also snake oiler is the best class, fite me.
That's why they gave you a sequel.
>there's a sequel
wait what
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1939160/Shadows_Over_Loathing/
It takes after the Lovecraft mythos
huh
neat i have something to do this weekend now
make sure to turn on the arachnophila mode
GOD I FRICKING LOVE SPIDERS
Wish I could play it but for some reason, there's no sound and none of the fixes seem to do anything.

Still online, around 350 players on right now
nta but damn
I remember when Kingdom of Loathing had like 2.5k players in peak hours. Still not a lot, but way more than that
they should re-release content from it as a standalone singleplayer RPG
Couldn't finish it. Nonsensical, stupid and seems to have been drawn by a 3 year old.

What does Ganker think about the sequel so far?
It's actually good.
It's better in every way
I've been tempted for a while. Is there gameplay or are you walking between gags?
there is gameplay, but it isn't too complicated or interesting
I literally played this game when it came out and don't even remember what mechanics it entailed beyond typical turn based combat in an rpg

How long is it? I've started playing it a couple of times now, but always put it down after the first town.
Not super long. Steam says I have 14 hours in it and I did the game and DLC, completing probably 80% of the content.
