Not because of the landscape, but because the writing and quests are so much more stale. In oblivion they seem to have tried to make every character/quest unique and even though they dont succeed the effort shows. In skyrim its like they just gave up and everyone is just who they are on the surface. No secrets, no big twists in quests, no wacky characters or humor. Everything is just bland.

the characters in Oblivion are far more one dimensional

some of them are. But they are infinitely more varied and less one-note.
Each Jarl in skyrim is just ....a jarl. Most of the characters in each city are just basic people with the blandest and most vanilla motivations possible >i want to be a trader >i have a fued with X character >i need X amount of plant for my potion
also the player's interaction with these characters is even more limited, as are the choices the player can make regarding them.

>can't prop balgruuf up as high king
Still think it's bullshit dude let a dragon fly into his castle that's gotta count for something.
Mm yes, i sure do love left clicking at a health sponge target and occasionally eating 8k worth of calories to prevent myself from dying. Such engaging and complex gameplay that is sure to make you think.
Sure do love the mages guild and all of its content. 30 minutes to complete an entire guild that in previous games took several hours if not more to complete with each town having a creative quest that made every guild location unique
The music is decent but still a step down from both morrowind and oblivion (but especially oblivion)
Also love the lack of spellcrafting in skyrim. Who needs RPG features in your RPG?
Hopefully Todd removes equipment, levels, quests and story in elder scrolls 6. All i want to do is leftclick at healthblobs
>Who needs RPG features in your RPG?
Why do you act like spellcrafting is a standard RPG feature? None of them have it.

because every mages guild (or its equivalent) had it in the previous titles and i was expanding my argument from my previous post about the mages guild in skyrim being shit?
straight up I would like it if they got rid of levels, they're useless right now and only constitute a +10 to one of your bars and a single perk choice in the skill trees. they need to remake Arena and do a little Betheda magic to it.
everyone overlooks it now, but it's a unique game with its own charm. I would rather be able to go to each continent and visit a couple of towns than to explore paired down single countries

That is because their level design is shit. >They ought to remove everything because everything they do is shit
correct, it would be better if they just stopped making videogames altogether

no but if they got rid of moot stuff like every house having interiors then they could focus on stuff that matters more such as the combat

Or maybe (and this is a crazy thought but bear with me) do both?
But we both know they cant do both, hell, they cant do either one because they are inept at their job
It isnt Jeremy Soules best work. Not even his best in the franchise but i do concede that its decent/good. But WIngs of kynareth, auriels ascension, road most travelled, Kuldahar, shits on all of the tracks in skyrim and it isnt even close
It's hard to quantify opinion without actual music theory but I've played thousands of hours of each game and while certain tracks in Morrowind/Oblivion stand out in my memory forever, whereas only one ambient Skyrim track pops into my head every now and then, I still think Skyrim's soundtrack is more than exceptional enough to stand out and be listenable outside of the game.
>I still think Skyrim's soundtrack is more than exceptional enough to stand out and be listenable outside of the game.
agreed but its the same for me, the music from morrowind and oblivion (sans the combat music from oblivion) is much more memorable. Skyrims music is fine/good.
Modded? Also no. But it is the most improved game of all time via mods. It can go from like a 6/10 to 8/10 from mods alone. Stuff like precision, animated traversal dyndolod, open animation replacer, nemesis and countless others almost turn it in to a new game.
play more games
ENTER
too greasy, it gives you those weird bowl movements where you run back and forth to play Morrowind instead.
>to play Morrowind instead.
Skyrim but the worst game ever
I didn't like Oblivion either, I can't see why anyone does. But Morrowind is the gift that keeps on keeping on
Because you're a soulless husk.
it has the worst gameplay and the stalest gameworld. Skyrim improved Oblivion, but they're both downgrades from Morrowind.
Skyrim's world is more stale than oblivion imo.

Worst*
it's a good game but defo not the best
what makes it good? It certainly isnt the combat, or the quest design or the world or the music. What else is there?
>what's 2+2? And no, don't say 4. Give me a real answer.
It IS the combat, the quest design the world and the music.

Ok now we know you're trolling
the music is much better than most
if you disagree you're likely a gay weeb

Sorry but I prefer Oblivion. If I am to play a Bethesda jank, I'd play the jankier one
>watered down oblivion
>greatest game
Skyrim is a souped up Oblivion, and that's what makes it decent.
>watered down morrowind
>good game
>watered down daggerfall
>good game

8/10 on a good day
