I like the mods. It's the only reason I play bethesda games. I played Starfield for like 8 hours and then shelved it till the CK comes out. They're not really RPG's, they're sandboxes that you can endlessly customize to fit your specific ideas about what a game should be. I play Skyrim and Fallout like I'm the protagonist of my own TV show, every play session is a new episode in the life of my character. I never actually finish them, I just stop playing them when I get sick of it
I'm not worried, I wasn't too attached to the lore and there are several dev teams out there right now trying to do the old school Bethseda thing. Even if TES6 sucks I'll have plethora of similar games to choose from.
These lazy fucks will double down on procgen. TES6 will be muh biggest map of all time and contain entire Tamriel. There will only be boring radiant quests, any text will be written and spoken by an ai. They dumb down RPG elements with each new game. In TES6 there will be none left. It will look as shit a Starfield, including NPCs. There won't be another update of their shitty engine. Screencap this, I predicted Starfield being chopped up in thousands of empty boxes and planets having invisible borders a year ago
TES6 will be fine if they just stick to their old TES formula. All their shooting games were shit compared to TES anyway, Starfall was a bad idea from the get go
If people don't make threads about it nobody would talk about it. fans have to do this or it'll disappear from the public consciousness. Stop talking about it and you stop the hate.
Accept the fact that Microsoft Zenimax "Bethesda" is not the same compony that made your favorite games decades ago and do not expect anything from this new bunch of people with Microsoft overlords reigning them.
Why? Starfield is a clear improvement over their previous games in every single aspect. Playing the game you can feel that they've taken notes on what people complained about in their previous games and tried to fix them. The main issue is that they did new things which people hated but if they're going back to ES6 they wouldnt be repeating the same mistakes in Starfield since it's one big world instead of thousands.
nah, in skyrim I could walk across the entire map, slaying shit, collecting shit, crafting shit. No cut scene until I entered a specific location. Starfield does not do this.
So they are completely out of touch with the entire rest of the industry and nobody there appear to have actually played an open world game that wasn't made at least 20 years ago.
>Skyrim/f04 baby
Go play Oblivion right now. It is the best the studio has to offer for both intentional and unintentional reasons. It's a living breathing unintentional comedy, but with fantastic guilds, hidden content, hilarious and useful bugs, and a world that's just fun to explore. The dlc's are also really good.
The Starfield was supposed to be Todd's passion project. They were even inspired by games that 90% of Ganker never heard about.
It was all lie. There is no hope after Starfield.
In retrospect despite all flaws it seems like Skyrim was unironically game they put all efforts.
>inspired by games made 30-40 years ago >Bethesda is a bunch of boomers and no young people in their dev team >failed to look at games that are made in the past 10 years >so starfield feels revolutionary to them but outdated compared to what the industry is doing
makes sense to me. Once you replace bethesda's staff with new ones and kick out all the boomers they'll be making games that feel modern for once.
I actually don't hate it based on that. I love hearing about people who work their way up. Work on multiple projects until they get to make what 'they' want to make. Always an endearing story. Even if the game sucks ass I respect that. Still, probably never going to play it again.
>I'm a skyrim/fo4 baby
You never had standards to begin with, don't pretend to be outraged now because it's popular.
Pony up $100 for the special edition, piggy.
>morrowind comes out, is pretty good >oblivion comes out, is worse and dumbed down >fo3 comes out, it's even worse >skyrim comes out, gets worse >fo4 comes out, it's getting real bad >76 comes out, it nosedives
yeah sure 6 is going to be a masterpiece at this rate
In hindsight, Fallout 3 is a disaster.
Skyrim is much better than F3, and unlike Oblivion it's not a fundamentally bad game - though it lacks much of Oblivion's comfyness and accidental charm. And F4 is still much better than F3, just absolutely not a good Fallout.
It's been clear since Skyrim that Bethesda has been on a downward trend. The people who made Elder scrolls the franchise that everyone loves and adores have long left the company and it's clear that the people who remain have no idea what made the older games so good in the first place, or they just don't care, pic related.
They've been following the same dumbed down lazy game design philosophy for over a decade now, and while that may have worked with Skyrim (as Skyrim was for a lot of the younger generation, their first rpg experience), that shit isn't flying anymore.
What Starfield is proving (and arguably since Fallout 4 imo) is that the Dumbed down, easily accessible, mass market appeal philosophy, actually doesn't appeal to anyone. It's extremely fucking boring and results in a flavorless RPG experience. They've long since burned their Core fanbase, and now the newer gen fans are starting to tire of this flavorless slop.
If they insist on continuing with this trend, TES6 will be a game sooo bad it will be likened to 83's ET. Starfield already damaged the Bethesda brand, TES6 will put them in the ground.
They should just release Skyrim 2 for free with it just being a very large empty map, and make a paid version 2 years later with all the good mods hard implemented in and give 10% of the cut to modders.
Funny thing is that Skyrim isn't even THAT good and it's still leagues better than Starfield. Skyrim only had a fun progression up to level 35-40 then you hit a fucking wall and you need to actually grind in order to becomes stronger and you stopped finding new tiers of weapon and new cool stuff to do. The game was absolutely done by that point, might as well start a new save or install 30 mods to keep things new and fresh and fuck around with the game a bit more.
We need to just accept that Bethesda is totally incapable of making a current gen RPG experience on the level of Skyrim.
but skyrim was ass and it still mogged this piece of shit
skyrim had 2 weapons, melee and bow, and shit spell progression and STILL mogged this game
god i hate you people so fucking much
>This makes me terrified for TES6.
You should ask your boyfriend to calm you down then. Maybe light some candles and brew yourself a herbal tea.
if you started playing bethslop with skyrim/fo4, why would you give a shit about TES6??
bc I retroactively really enjoyed their other works and appreciated morrowind later when i wanted more positive experiences of course
Bethesda hasn't made a good game in 20 years. Why would they suddenly start now?
Bethesda just fundamentally do not understand what it is people like about their games.
I like the mods. It's the only reason I play bethesda games. I played Starfield for like 8 hours and then shelved it till the CK comes out. >I never actually finish them, I just stop playing them when I get sick of it
this
they fill the same spot in my soul as garry's mod
>I never actually finish them, I just stop playing them when I get sick of it
This but unironically
I'm not worried, I wasn't too attached to the lore and there are several dev teams out there right now trying to do the old school Bethseda thing. Even if TES6 sucks I'll have plethora of similar games to choose from.

What's wrong buddy, didn't you like Daggerfall?
TES6 will be fine if they just stick to their old TES formula. All their shooting games were shit compared to TES anyway, Starfall was a bad idea from the get go
>starfield BAD
>do I fit in yet guys?
If people don't make threads about it nobody would talk about it. fans have to do this or it'll disappear from the public consciousness. Stop talking about it and you stop the hate.
water wet and men cannot be women, troony
>d-do I fit in yet?!?!
take your pills
not hrt ones
Accept the fact that Microsoft Zenimax "Bethesda" is not the same compony that made your favorite games decades ago and do not expect anything from this new bunch of people with Microsoft overlords reigning them.
>This makes me terrified for TES6.
Why? Just let it go. Its gonna be ass, thats a fact.
>I'm a skyrim/fo4 baby
Opinion discarded
I just given up and accepted that I would have to play skyrim forever.
>mfw forever stuck modding Skyrim

Yes that is what I meant when I said they tried doing something different that people hated. Reading comprehension.
So by doing something different, what you actually mean is removing what people like and only doing what people hates.
Was this game made by Ganker?
They likely didnt think people would react so badly to loading screens, if they took a conscious effort to hide them people would like starfield more.
So they are completely out of touch with the entire rest of the industry and nobody there appear to have actually played an open world game that wasn't made at least 20 years ago.
>people hated
More like it was a shit idea that should’ve been scrapped.
>Skyrim/f04 baby

>Todd's "Magnum Opus"
>Was the most outsourced game Bethesda has ever made
truly the work of a passionate visionary
Phil Spencer forced him to do it
Literally the first game on this list is a failed Early Access game that was supposed to release nearly 10 years ago and never did.
That actually makes so much fucking sense.
>I'm a skyrim/fo4 baby
You never had standards to begin with, don't pretend to be outraged now because it's popular.

Starfield still has multiple threads every hour everyday on Ganker while every other game this year has been forgotten FOTM.
In hindsight, Fallout 3 is a disaster.

>these games are a shit! I liked when they were digital abominations that were a nightmare to play!
rest easy knowing you are hated just as much if not more

baby dovahkiin is almost old enough to post here

They haven't moved with the times enough and if you need mods to save your game you didn't do a good job
XVI and Jedi Survivor had so many Quality of Life changes, and then you play Starfield... removing features from previous titles.
They just need to add dragons and ~le funny npc quotes to be memed on the internetz xDxD
>terrified for TES6
Jeremy Soule got cancelled before Starfield released. It's already confirmed shit.
