It's pretty cozy although the only reason I remember this game is because someone used it as an example game for game hacking.

I fricking love it even though the souls "get to where you died" thing is corny. Honestly a very special game and you should gtfo and play it before someone spoils shit for you, the less you know the better

The puzzles were some of my favorite in any game

It's great, but there's a massive difficulty spike on the final boss, and the final puzzle(s) is beyond annoying to execute so I just gave up.

Its good, the OST on itself is fricking great, only issues are probably the puzzles that have a massive spike on difficulty, and kinda same could be said with the bosses at the end.

if you're too stupid to realize its not that good of a game by the replies. Then you deserve to waste your money on it. That is all I will contribute to this thread.

it's not just gibberish, the characters are actually speaking a language and you can decipher it

I watched someone play it (good lad that does Sonic Adventure 2 speedruns) cause I had no interest in it. But a lot of the charm is taking notes for the puzzle solving. If you’re into that, it seems cozy.

It has its problems but it's a good game.

I can see why some people might bounce off of it or get frustrated by the difficulty spike, but it's exactly my type of game and I had a blast playing it. Go in as blind as you can, though. Unlike a lot of these types of souls-y, zelda-like indie games, a lot of the progression is gated by knowledge rather than keys. You can do a surprising amount right from the get-go, but there's no tutorial, not even for the controls. You find pages to an old school game instruction manual scattered around the world, which is written almost entirely in a fictional alphabet, but you don't even have to decipher it. There's just enough clues in the images and scant english text that you can inference what you need to advance. Very often the solutions to the puzzles are hiding in plain sight, sometimes right under your nose, and having those "Ah ha!" moments when all the pieces come together is a great feeling.

Combat is a bit stiff, slow, and clunky though, which can be frustrating in a couple of the later boss fights which seem tuned for faster movement. A lot of trial and error.

It somewhat scratches the itch that Outer Wilds leaves if you've finished the game already.
At least i hope so. I haven't played the game myself but anons recommended it in another thread and I really hope that would be the case.

I dislike this type of game as it does not feel good/natural to play, has bad progression, tries too hard to be difficult, etc

when i want to play an action adventure game i want an action adventure game

this, deaths door and another similar game I played all sucked

still in the middle of my playthrough. it's pretty hard. i got filtered hard by the third and fourth bosses. it's pretty unforgiving with the consumables and mana items too.

    >Use button and roll button are mapped to the same input
    >Have to roll first to start running
    >Get trapped in a spot with a lever thinking I might be able to pull it fast enough
    >Enemy hits me, cancelling animation
    >Try to roll/run away
    >Character goes to pull the lever
    >Enemies block me, can't roll past them to get free
    >Die
    >Check controls
    >No way to change the input

Great game, but I took a break from it for a bit due to that pissing me off pretty bad. I'm also not a huge fan of it using the Souls-esque healing system. It's clearly trying to be like older Zelda games. Just make it where enemies/pots drop hearts without using the equipped item. Let me buy or find potions. Not everything has to be this constant die, come back, be mindful of your flasks bullshit.

No, no, of course it does, otherwise the game would be 3h long.

OP if you want a good action adventure game.......play genshin impact. this is a "look at me look at me im hard im special" game

      >Just make it where enemies/pots drop hearts without using the equipped item
there are medallions you can equip and stack in chests. one of them does this for you and will make enemies drop hearts.

Like I said, make it where it doesn't require equipping an item. I honestly haven't played around much with the other medallions because I just really want the hearts here and then. Despite that though, even when you equip the item (at least at the point I'm at), enemies are the only ones that drop them, and they're somewhat rare.

It's just unnecessary. The focus is clearly on the puzzles and secrets. I don't see the reason to also dump Souls-esque death walks and healing items onto that as well.
