There's no way a robot that advanced would only be worth $899. If it really is that cheap upfront then it's probably has maintenance costs like hell.
But if the price was actually that good I would totally buy several, and maybe jailbreak their software to disable telemetry so glowies and corpos can't get in on my degenerate sex robot acts.

I'm pretty sure the glowies and corpos don't actually give a frick about what you nut to unless it's pizza, it's just moralist homosexuals whining that keeps driving AI companies to ban ERP.

I was pessimistic about android wives, but the recent Nvidia breakthrough gave me hope again and now there's hope, singularity is coming and we'll probably have android wives in the next 10-20 years if not sooner

      Anonymous

I wouldn't bet on it being sooner than 20 years, honestly. The technology for such robots to locomote well doesn't even exist yet, artificial faces are nowhere near escaping the uncanny valley (especially in motion), and the intelligence/computational aspect is still many years in the future. All of those would need to be solved before anyone could begin to make production lines, the production lines themselves would likely take years to build, and anything off those production lines would be prohibitively expensive for several years after that. Why would any business try to create masses of low-cost, low-margin robots to sell to Joe Everyman when you could just make a smaller number of extremely high-margin robots that CEOs would gladly buy up to replace all their workers?

I don't have any problem with other people having them but I don't know if I could see myself with one. Maybe if I had the money and I needed someone to clean my house and cook. But if I had that money I could just hire a maid and go out to eat instead. Personally I just don't get much from interacting with artificial personalities.
    >But you'd get to have sex with her
Yeah, that'd be nice. I'm not going to argue with that.

I don't know why the elites can't just push for a post-scarcity society. You can still be superpowerful in a startrek universe, hell the stupid goy cattle might be less likely to rebel if their needs are met. I know that if I could just do what I wanted in life, had a house, entertainment, luxuries and a robot waifu I wouldn't give a shit if they owned 30 yahts.

Just legalize a drug that makes them docile and you don't even have to produce anything on top of that.
Oh wait, that's already happening with weed.

It's JUST enough to make them work and also JUST enough to make them go "yeah whatever man, I'll just rip a fat vape cloud". It's also not as quick at killing as alcohol or opiods AND makes people less aggresive and there's no need to synthesize some whacky chemical when you can just grow it. It might not be the ultimate thing, but as far as price/quality goes, it's great.

    >dignity and price
Non-virgin here, I'll tell you right now that unless you're at least an 8/10 dating is a humbling, humiliating, degrading experience. It's expensive. And breakups can feel worse than actual death. If you're going for carbon-based humans you're already paying the price and suffering.

An AI woman could love you unconditionally, no matter who you are and how you act. That'd be so wonderful.

      Anonymous

Anyone who's satisfied by unconditional love is a moron. Unconditional love is what you get from your parents (assuming you had decent ones). Your spouse's love should be conditional. I wouldn't want to be with a person so fricking weak-willed that she'd stay with me if I hit her or had sex with other people. The joy of a relationship has to do with the fact that someone is joining their entire life with yours. A robot out of a box lacks any such history or circumstances.
