This record was found in a thrift store a few days ago. No one knows what it is and there is no information on the internet about it.
Does anyone have any idea what it could be and what the meeting at the McCornick Hotel on May 27, 1992 would be about?
I'm just going to guess this was for some legal mixtape for a Nintendo business event at some hotel in the early 90s. Either this played at the event or this was Nintendo's fancy invitation with bonus compilation CD.
That's a pretty good line-up. Haven't heard that Paul Young song in over 20 years. Listening to it now. Just as good as I remember.

Great f'n song.
That's quite cool, OP. Extra points to your for bothering to include the spine that many would have neglected.

Just a sampler disc given out at trade shows for promotion
Record companies have a lot of "swag" as it's known that they give away to people they are trying to court/influence/bribe. T-Shirts, records, tickets, all kinds of shit. In this case, they threw together a mix album of a bunch of music they had license to, and passed it out privately as an invite to some sales pitch to make it stand out more than just a paper invite. How Nintendo got dragged into it, I have no idea.
makes sense
Peach is low key banging. Nintendo isn't completely against demonstrating that, either.
In the comic included with
, it keeps referring to the princess as having a "rockin bod".
so hot

So, Pedophile or furfag/homofa incel?
Maybe it's related to the Super Mario Bros. movie from 1993? May 1992 seems like it would fit in the time frame when the film would have started pre-production and music producers would have gotten involved.
There is a Nintendo Life news in 2019 that talks precisely about one of the songs on the Nintendo and MCA Records Canada sample cd.

I don’t speak bagette, boy
It has very little info. It's mostly about Acclaim acquiring Voyager Communication, mostly for comic books. But it says that Voyager made deals previously with MCA and Nintendo (not necessarily together), that's about it
I have a different CD that has a track on it of Bowser singing about Toadstool on it and then I think the rest was just random songs like this one.
can you take a photo?
Cant find my copy, but it was this album.

I have the cassette version of that. I remember being in a music store with my mom and Mario catching my eye. My mom bought it for me and I ended up being a bit disappointed that it wasn't more Mario themed. I listened to it a few times though to not seem ungrateful.
More (bizarre) info on it.

Ok, complete shot in the dark, but maybe it had something to do with the CD add-on for the SNES? Like just a promo item since the add-on would likely have been able to also play normal music CDs, so here is this special promo CD given out at some consumer/business event regarding upcoming tech and MCA Records making music CDs thus made this in partnership with Nintendo.
I think that is the point. What's more, that date is the day before CES in Chicago in 1992.
>May 92
Wasn't the Nintendo Playstation basically dead in the water a year prior?
This is cool but it's obviously nothing official.
MCA Records and Nintendo already had business deals. I mean, it's probably official.
This CD from a year earlier
is from the same company.
my uncle worked for nintendo in canada around this time so i’ll ask him and update later.
sure
Post it on Reddit. Ganker is a joke when it comes to finding out information about anything anymore.
There's a lot of weird video game licensed audio CDs out there
Pic related was a random trance music album that also included an N64 video ad on the disc
From a collecting point-of-view pretty much the only ones worth anything are some of the PS1 related discs, such as Duke Nukem Time To Kill Power Tracks which was a techno music album that shipped with a PS1 demo CD exclusive to that particular release.
The reverse has also happened. Anyone remember how the first print of Mickey's Wild Adventure shipped with a CD full of Disney characters doing gangsta rap?
Boys of Summer is a great song, but it has to be the most depressing shit of all time.
Every time I hear it I want to die.
Just don't listen to the words.
Boys of Summer is a cuck anthem.
Why does almost every pop song from the past make me feel melancholy and bittersweet?
yes
it's a trap
>record
that's a CD you dumb zoomzoom
It's a promo item related to the early talks about SNES CD.
how do you know
The DJ Sammy version of Boys of Summer is almost as good as the original, prove me wrong.
Some redditor made a mixtape and this deserves a thread how?
>record
Phonograph records are not the only records.
Tell the cops that someone stole your record, not cd, and I bet they'll never find it. Dumbass.

Reminds me of pic related I found on some flea market years ago.
