                I haven't even played it. I just know imsims and gaas looter shooters are on opposite ends of the spectrum. Besides, the real point of contention here is how Bethesda forced Austin to work on it. They drove out all the talent and then wondered why the fresh college grads they brought in couldn't put together a good game.

      I haven't followed it that closely, but my guess would be that most of the people working on it currently are new blood.
      The last released Arcane game was Prey 2017.

    I had no interest in this game and I almost didn't play it except a friend gave me a free 3 month gamepass code. I've been a diehard Arkane fan, played Deathloop and even loved it but had absolutely no fricking interest in this.
    The main campaign was laughably bad, the story was uninspired, the neighbourhood and world design was "okay" but it wasn't exactly something I was excited to come back to. It felt empty a lot of the time despite being more populated than any map in Dishonored or Deathloop.

    The movement was lacking, the shooting really sucked and many of the enemies in the game were incredibly unfun to fight against with stuff like sudden movements in split seconds which with the shooting felt like you were adjusting a tank cannon whenever you wanted to shoot a vampire.
    The missions were a bore and there were nothing really there that reminded me of Arkane. No special routes, nothing special, just optional stealth that ended up being pointless because most special vampire types are complete bullet sponges.
    The boss fight in the final game was super easy and the hardest thing about the game was the special vampires because they drained all your ammo or actively drained your health.

    The characters weren't even worth addressing. I played the total conspiracy nut because I thought he'd be the most interesting of the 4 and I think he must've been because it got me through the entire game till the end and he has a good ability to almost instant kill any vampire. The skill system also sucked balls because it was too slow for me to level anything and the game was insistent on me grinding vampire nests over and over to get rid of vampire influence over parts of the town.
    There was absolutely NO SIGN of Arkane in this game. It was like I was playing a shitty Ubisoft game like a Far Cry or something else. Like a watered down Borderlands.
    If you told me Gearbox made it as a spinoff to Borderlands I would've believed you.
    Why did Zenimax go to Arkane for this?
