Can't speak for Inside. These cinematic platformers tend to bore me, shallow games pretending to be deep

really cool games, both did a great job of telling a story without words, Limbo is pretty straightforward but I still wonder what Inside is really about

They are overrated, and that's their main quality.

      They're actually underrated.

      >overrated
Actual meaningless term. Name a game and some Ganker user will say it's overrated, and he'll repeat it without substance for hours.

I wish more devs would try to make horror platformers like these instead of shitty unity first person asset flips.

    I really enjoyed Inside.
The third game is going to be EGS exclusive unfortunately.
    Not timed either.

Get a different hobby. I don't want you shitting up mine even further.

Both quick and easy. Probably around 4 hours for each game. Limbo is a bit longer than Inside but not by much.

Limbo was an actual game. Inside is a movie with some puzzles in it.

Great games, but I don't think they are for everyone. 99% of the story is told through ambiance and clues in the course of the game. This is why Joseph Anderson got filtered

      >Joseph Anderson got filtered
This is honestly one of the biggest endorsements that a game can receive.

Inside was okay in a "I'm mildly curious what new thing will happen next" way. I wouldn't play it again and I wouldn't buy it for more than 10 dollars.

Limbo was alright but Inside was beautiful and gameplay wise is just and upgraded Limbo.
They're both good but Inside improves upon every single element in Limbo.

Is there a name for this genre of games? I enjoy them both, and enjoyed Little Nightmares, and I want to play more.

Thanks, I will check it out. I'll have to look into Cinematic platformers because they are fun.

They're what artsy fartsy type games should be: short and to the point.

I liked them but can't really imagine replaying them.

      It's the exact opposite.

Both are decent but Inside kind of goes off the deep end in the latter half and doesn't bother explaining itself which is pretty lame. If you take the platforming and puzzles out and replace them with shallow combat then you get Trek to Yomi and I enjoyed that a bit more than both of them.
