I don't give a frick about your shit game.
Why is first post so often best post? This one is no exception.
Frick blizz.
Frick activision.
Frick corporate white knights.
Life is tangibly improved by not spending time on blizz products.
Life is also tangibly improved by not spending time on Ganker yet here we are.
We make do where we can.
every single thing i know about overwatch comes from porn.
Why do footgays always come off so desperate in their quest for looking at feet?
Like just go to the beach, homie. Get a job at Footlocker. Work as a lifeguard at a pool.
Fippy Bippy
Grim. This and the PS5 price hike are some of the most cynical shit I've ever seen in any industry.
I'll give you something else that made me laugh at the state of things: the Playstation Stars loyalty program offers better customer service to members in the highest tier.
what type of semen-slurper gives a single shit about paid cosmetics
I hope it gouges the shitstains that play it as much as possible, they deserve it.
quickrundown and without the politics please?
microtransactions cost more money now?
The OP picture is a quick rundown, moron. Everything costs roughly 2-4 times more than its predecessor if you needed that spelled out for you.
based moron
at least read what's posted
Yes
Lootboxes used to be passed out like candy for free and duplicates gave you fair amounts of free currency to buy what you wanted.
Lootboxes no longer exist and free currency (and the cosmetics in general) is given out at a much slower rate relative to before.
So not only do you accrue currency slower but the prices of everything have increased massively to try and force you to buy the individual cosmetic directly with real money, something you couldn't do before.
thank you.
not everyone knows about shit f2p currency and garbage
you don't need to know ANYTHING to read the chart that's posted and understand it you massive idiot
how much overwatch coins equals 50 kongo dollars
It's 1000 coins to 10 dollars, from the epic skins section as shown in the OP pic. So it would be 5000 to 50 dollars. Holy shit anon, are you this fricking stupid?
I said kongo dollars not american dollars dumbshit
Fricking google the conversion between USD and whatever your third-world currency is, moron. Whatever 50 USD is worth in your currency is what 5000 overwatch dollars are worth.
Basically the items used to be in lootboxes which could be earned for free very easily, and lootboxes also gave out credits which you could use to buy the item you want without having to rely on chance
Now instead of free those items cost $20
>paying $20 for a skin you can't even see
>paying $1 for a pre-made spray you can't customize
I want TF2 back
>$20 for a gold skin that used to be free drops regularly
can you not get them for free now????
There are no more crate drops. Only way to get new skins is to pay for them.
are you fricking kidding me
It's fricking f2p, what did you expect?
They have to have some kind monetization in the game.
And people would refuse to buy OW2 because nobody really understands what the point of OW2 is, not even Blizzard. They just announced OW2 trying to generate hype but caused confusion instead because they didn't have any answers to questions because nobody knew what OW2 was.
F2P makes more money
It's just cosmetic gacha so who gives a frick?
it doesn't matter if it's to be expected, or that it makes more money, I can still be pissed off that they did it
Why?
why should I be annoyed at companies being money grabbing buttholes? It negatively impacts me why wouldn't I be annoyed
It's f2p but they are deleting the game I already paid for where it was understood I could get skins for free.
Can you at least buy them outright now? When I played OW1 for a short while all you could do was pay for gacha loot box rolls.
>Can you at least buy them outright now?
For $20 bucks a pop
You're missing a zero
its $12,000 roughly for all cosmetics: skins, intros, poses, sprays, and other shit
>its $12,000 roughly for all cosmetics: skins, intros, poses, sprays, and other shit
Damn, remember when the same company would make games for a one time payment of $40 and you could just play online as long as you wanted with years of support.
Is this the future of all big game devs?
That's for everything in OW1. It's pretty funny people flipped their shit about lootboxes when Overwatch was incredibly generous about them. I never bought a single one and I had 90% of all cosmetics in the game from just playing a few hours a week since launch.
The freemium model is the obvious response to the "no gambling" laws which also dont actually stop whale gacha games.
>Is this the future of all big game devs?
Yes, because even if you or I or a thousand other people never spend a dime on it
It only takes one homosexual whale buying up everything to reward the system.
>Is this the future of all big game devs?
yes
remember, it's not about good games, it's about returning Value to shareholders
So as a free to play player, what is there to play for
Even league of legends lets people unlock a lot of free skins and chests
And before you say "muh zoomer needs lootboxes to play"
Of course, because overwatch is boring esports garbage. People will obsess over their homosexual competitive rank for a couple months and then move on.
The free parts of the battlepass!
No more loot boxes ever. No way to earn credits so everything must be purchased with real money. Ex. Halloween skin from 2016 will cost $20.
I fricking hate these stupid piss for brains devs
what the FRICK was wrong with the original system
not enough money
I'm so fricking sick of watching mobile/gatcha/korean grinder item mall etc... monetization ruin everything and there being such a large cadre of zoomers who defend it as if the secret to adding 4 inches to their wiener was a "collection event" reward. FRICK
there's no fricking way overwatch doesn't make enough money as is
Its not about enough money is more about, how can we make more money
lootboxes are gambling
I don't quite get your point?
lootboxes have been a perennial cause of complaints about games on Ganker. predictably, many on Ganker wail when they're done away with.
>predictably, many on Ganker wail when they're done away with.
Nobody cares that lootboxes are going
People care that the system replacing it is objectively worse and greedier than lootbox gachas
I was gonna say something like this
I think I'm an outlier in the fact that I didn't give a shit about overwatch lootboxes, never bought a single one and got all the skins I wanted after waiting. Going from an rng system to just buying the skins is bullshit
at least it isn't enticing kids to gamble, which, i think, is why they're making the change: they anticipate more anti-lootbox legislation.
the game is free and no one is obligated to buy fricking skins. the only thing that annoys me is that i paid for overwatch 1 and they're shutting it down entirely -- of course, you won't even be able to run your own servers.
Do you not remember the mass hate campaign against lootboxes? This is what the people wanted
No-one will play OW2, it should have been a patch.
They could have hyped it up, called it Overwatch Update V2.0, they could have had a 40% off sale on Overwatch, the new features (which should include some tweaks to matchmaking) and hype surrounding it (there would have been hype if it was handled correctly) would have earned them new players and more sales for the game. And more money from people returning buying lootboxez. It would have been a win for Blizzard.
But with this "Overwatch 2" rubbish, Blizzard is fricked. They really have nothing; all the talent has left the company; their company is suffering scandal after scandal about their top brass conduct; their courtship with the casual phone game market has backfired; Hearthstone just exists; Overwatch 2 is seen as a needless boondoggle of a game, an update pushed as a full game by a company that has already and needlessly fallen out of favour with its fans (who the company seems to hate by the way); what Microsoft saw in Blizzard I truly do not know, they are in my humble opinion one of the most over-valued companies in this industry. World of Warcraft was at its peak well, well, over ten years ago and they have not had a single game come close to the success of that one ever since. They are coasting and I don't know how anyone at Microsoft thinks the purchase was a good buy.
It's shit
Activision increases the microtransactions and their cost with each subsequent release. Started with them making StarCraft 2 a three part release and calling them “expansions” and now we’re here lol
I have never played a game with "pricing systems".
What does such a game offer that a normal game doesn't?
Any game with microtransactions has pricing systems with your actual money. Most games have fictional pricing systems if you can buy or sell shit to the shop keeper, and those tend to be more fair if they're divorced from real-world money because they're typically not trying to frick you when you're playing with fun fictional money
I want to know what Jeff is up to. I imagine he's enjoying a cathartic experience of watching OW2 go up in flame.
What would unlocking all content cost?
Roughly $1200 as things stand, with more characters and skins, etc. to be released down the line. It's basically just Fortnite now.
>paying for porn
Not playing it, you are not getting my phone number nor my money, and the only good thing about this piece of shit is porn which is free anyway.
How much money did they waste in creating the Overwatch league again? They are probably still trying to recoup those losses.
they spent millions and never recovered. its not even a money thing, they destroyed their esports rep. so they will have trouble people trusting them for future games.
i have never bought a game cosmetic and will continue not to
i'm poor already
frick skins
i only play default characters
Will players who already own certain skins in "Overwatch 1" still own them in "Overwatch 2"?
I don't care I just want to know for the lulz
It's shit but I don't care much about cosmetics. They fixed a majority of core gameplay issues and it plays much better.
So you admit you're paying for a patch
It's free
isn't it free?
They're a gaming journalist don't expect them to know basic facts.
>You have to be a "games journalist" to not give a frick about this shitheap game
You should have enough respect for yourself that you don't spew out random factually incorrect bullshit with confidence like a bot. A man would be embarrassed looking like a complete fool all the time.
Honestly, at this point, I'd happily shell out $40 if it meant none of this gigaisraelite season pass bullshit was in and the game was good and fun.
jewverwatch
>jewverwatch
Goyimwatch 2
I just won't buy any and will play for free
You don't have to buy characters right?
:*~~
Sure goyim. They're "free".
You just need to make the game a job and grind your dailies and weeklies (most of which are ridiculously hard)
Or....
You can just buy the battlelass and unlock the new character instantly :*~~)
Ok so they're free and I don't have to get any characters I don't want
Yep only lvl 55 to get them for free! Isn't that nice of them (provided you spend 80 hours grinding for the hero each season in QP)? Your voice recordings being sold will also fund the development! Isn't that awesome?
Forgot to note you're locked out of comp if you don't have all the heroes.
But you do :*~~
>Pick [insert Meta character]
>Don't have [insert Meta character]
>Account banned for trolling
who cares about cosmetics
Bad but not as bad as Valorant. Those can have guns that can cost $100.
Locking heroes behind the BP was all I needed to hear to be done with this shit game.
Battle Passes should always be cosmetic to appeal to zoomers/Black folk with no impulse control.
This shit will be Halo Infinite 2 and dead by mid 2023
Probably just straight up dead on arrival since this releases the same month as the new call of duty, at least Activision still gets paid I guess.
>CoD and OW
>the same player base
ANOTHER call of duty is releasing? didn't vanguard release and flop a couple months ago?
It flopped in comparison to other CoD games and they release a game every year so its whatever, move on to the next
There's tons of games that make you outright pay money for new characters. It shouldn't come to OW, but acting like it's some unique thing that will prevent people from playing makes you sound moronic.
> acting like it's some unique thing that will prevent people from playing makes you sound moronic.
Maybe you're some modern era zoomer that couldn't afford OW1 after all this time but the major selling point besides being one of Blizzard's original IP's in forever was switching characters on the fly compared to Valorant and R6S where you're locked in once the match starts.
Zoomers are going to quickly gtfo once they join this shit and see a third of the roster grayed out - assuming they can even get in since people are reporting problems even registering with the SMS shit going on.
League has like 470 characters and has a free rotation of like 4 of them dude. You're moronic if you think the average person cares about that.
> Comparing League to OW
You're multitudes more moronic and the worst part is you fail to even comprehend it.
I guess "match" is the more appropriate term but the point still stands.
>it doesnt count because... it just doesnt!
Because its not an accurate comparison you moron.
You can switch characters in rainbow 6 before every round
what characters are going to be unavailable to a f2p and how much do they cost to buy?
its the same as apex. and just like apex i will never spend a dime, ESPECIALLY since i already have all my favorite skins and shit from years of playing
Will be hilarious to see blizz charge for the same skins again.
>what are you poor? you can't afford the same skins twice?
if they made bigger maps and 8v8+ I might have been interested but since it'll be 5v5 and more small shit why bother
these are my thoughts
People were paying hundreds of dollars for the special edition pets in WoW in 2004
MMO players have always been moronic. Imagine paying 20 bucks a month to play a game.
MMO players have always been mentally ill, so they don't count.
MMO Players are used to buying their game over and over or losing it. They were rightfully looked down upon as addicts and paypigs from the beginning.
Now the rest of the industry has followed.
I could get them for free via lootboxes which was pretty common
I now can't get them unless I pay
Well, can't argue with history. People on Ganker used to moan that they couldn't buy the skins they wanted outright, and now the israelites have given Ganker-tards the option.
>and now the israelites have given Ganker-tards the option.
Yeah, israelites rather than normal people. Not a single skin should cost more than five bucks and even that's pushing it for digital style.
>A skin shouldn't cost more than $5
They shouldn't cost anything. Glad I got them all for free.
you can buy then with credits, the frick are they on
they didn't want to grind out for the lootboxes to get duplicates to get credits to buy them 🙂
they just wanted to buy them
that's dumb
/v/? dumb? never
>People on Ganker used to moan that they couldn't buy the skins they wanted outright
You could always do this since launch, so what the frick are you on about?
gacha has given you a severe case of brain rot
how so?
Personally, I can't wait for Overwatch 3.
In the meantime, I'll buy every cosmetic they release - they'll definitely be transferrable from OW2 to OW3.
>paying real money for cosmetics in video games
What even leads someone to do this? I don't understand.
>playing video games
Are you awarded more points as well? Maybe you will earn them faster in the PVE modes?
Eh, frick it, I'm giving Blizzard too much credit.
Why can't people just not consume?
Even league doesn't charge $20 for their legendary skins.
Dota 2 a decade later still has the best cosmetic monetization system. You can trade everything between players. It's that simple. None of these other games will let you trade your lootboxes or cosmetics with others. They only want you to spend money to them.
F to all the homies that bought Vanilla Overwatch. Can't even say no to this shit since 1 will essentially disappear.
wtf my overwatch account is worth thousands
thanks blizz rape milk titty
>OW1 gone forever tomorrow morning
The final humiliation of Overwatch is upon us. Imagine having your game patched out of existence lmao
>"Rare" skins
>they are actually the most common ones
There's a "common" tier of items, but that's only for literal garbage like sprays and voicelines
Anyone who sees this move as anything other than Blizzard resetting all of your microtransaction purchases needs mental help.
What do you mean resetting? Any skins you had in 1 carry over to 2
Wait, is this confirmed? Does it apply to old content from Overwatch 2 too?
>don't buy battle pass, use only base characters
>banned from comp for not picking latest and greatest characters from bp
I love this bed that blizz has made for themselves.
Glad I dropped their products years ago.
>playing competitive
Kek you homosexuals deserve it
all this seethe because blizzard employees dared to chat-up women
Do old cosmetics now cost more to buy with the credits from Overwatch 1?
There are no credits
They said the credits from Overwatch would transfer
There are credits you dingus
Never played the first one but the sequel seems like a good point to hop into the series :^)
This is your fault for trying to get governments to crack down on lootboxes. You only have yourselves to blame, the publishers need to make money somehow you fricking morons.
>the publishers need to make money somehow you fricking morons
Yeah, by cutting the stupid fricking 'community managers' and other useless busy body positions. Every 9 in 10 gays in HR should be fired. A gave dev should have game developers, not dozens of people who's job is to just model rocks all fricking day.
Then, when you make an actually good product, sell it for actual money.
Not him but if that was the most profitable course of action, they'd be doing it.
It is
but then the corporate body can't parasitize the actual game development
>it is the most profitable
>well not for the people making the decisions, but uh
moron detected.
It's nobody's "fault" except Blizzard's that their practices are so fricked up. Some governments banned lootboxes, but for most countries, it all comes out in the wash if you disclose odds, which I don't think has ever deterred someone with a gambling addiction, and have a little box to tick to confirm you're of legal age to gamble. But that's not what really matters anymore. Nobody forced Blizzard to quadruple the value of skins. Nobody forced Blizzard to lock heroes behind battle pass progress. Nobody forced Blizzard to make your currency disappear when they forcefully shift the game you paid $60 for to the inferior version with fewer modes, maps, and content.
Why would I give a frick what cosmetic items cost? I dont buy this garbage or care about it. I'm over the age of 18
>full price game
>comes with grind and mtx
very cool
I only ever tolerated this stuff in free games. I cannot recall a single game that I've bought that even had a system of buying skins.
You Black folk truly ruined gaming.
You lived to see the day that Ganker wished to have lootboxes in a game.
The same board that slurps gacha wiener laments the death of loot boxes? Now way
you dont have to buy them morons
I don't have to buy the game, either.
Ha HA!
yeah because it's free.....
*cackle*
YES!
Genius!
Blizzard is just trying to force another esport into existence, ignore them and move on with your lives.
OW Esport is already a big thing anon
>OW Esport
>frogposter
> OW Esport is already a big thing
OW Esports is the equivalent of highschool football compared to the NFL
OWL gets btfo by The International and League Worlds
Coping already you stupid homosexual?
More like comparing NFL to soccer since only third worlders care about the latter
>rare skins
>epic skins
>legendary skins
What about the normal or common ones? Do those not exist?
WHO THE FRICK WOULD PAY MONEY FOR A SPRAY
if I could put anything I want in it, I would
sanitized pre-made sprays? frick off
Imagine being a Blizzard supporter/fan in 2022.
>Overwatch 1 being shut down permanently
>forced to play Overwatch 2 instead
>requires agreeing to new, drastically more draconian EULA
>requires phone number
>requires 24/7 access to audio inputs on your computer as long as OW2 (and likely the blizzard launcher) is installed
>They might as well ship their new games with a wiener cage, hormone blockers, and a security camera that has to be in your room and aimed at your monitor at this point.
Couldn't be me. Glad I stopped buying ActiBlizz products after WotLK.
If this skin isn't in OW2 I'm not playing.
Source of these numbers? I assume they're from a closed beta?
youtube screencap of some shilloid, OP cropped the screencap this came from
