>thousands of hours in league of legends; could never get out of silver. constantly shit talked by teammates
>hundreds of hours in csgo: could never rank up, constantly shit talked and kicked, got called a downy numerous times
>pubg and apex legends; almost always lose in gunfights even with better guns, get shit on by every player
>ffxiv; can't do even basic raids and trials properly, am on the floor half the time, and am a joke in pvp
>rhythm games; could barely do level 11 songs even after several months
even in harder singleplayer games like elden ring I usually end up having to use trainers to beat them. unironically what video games is someone like me supposed to play? I find most singleplayer games boring, and I want to be able to play something competitive since it seems satisfying to improve, but I think I'm moronic or something since I can't improve or learn from mistakes at all.

    you should play fighting games.

Unironically this. Was hard stuck iron in league for months. But when I first tried Street Fighter 6, I climbed to gold in just a couple weeks (which is like 4 or 5 ranks in SF6)

Gold is trash. Street Fighter 6 ranking system is a battle of attrition; many players in Master rank are awful. Also, what fricking moron recommends fighting games to someone who blows ass at every game he plays?

those seem to have autistically high skill ceilings, I don't think I could keep up. but I've never really played fighting games other than smash bros so I guess I could try one.

unless you plan on going to tournaments, you shouldn't care about skill ceilings. the average person only needs to worry about button execution and situational awareness.

Yeah I recommend SF6 or Guilty Gear Strive. Both are fairly new, easy to pick up with good player numbers and still receiving content updates. Finding new players at your skill level shouldn't be an issue in both.

Befriend and team up with other players. Literally every popular multiplayer game requires this now otherwise you get placed with even worse players than you and you'll never learn or rank up getting stomped by premades.

It's a lot harder than it used to be. It used to take me 10 or 15 games to get into gold. The last time I played it took me almost 100 games to climb out and that's when I decided I'm done with league. Former diamond player for multiple seasons. I'm old and the game changed too much. So don't feel too bad about that one.

Only competitive game I play is Rocket League and I've been stuck in Diamond for like 4 years. I just play casual games and turn it off when it isn't fun. You don't get any prizes for being good at vidya unless you go pro and get sponsored and you age out of that quickly so yeah.

the only reliable way to get good at anything is deliberate practice which has the following characteristics:
    1 Well-defined and understood task
    2. Able to be completed
    3. Immediate feedback
    4. Replicable
    5. Task is designed by a teacher and performed following clear instruction

you can play games for thousands of house without getting good at them if you are not doing any deliberate practice
there are genetic limitations of course, but I seriously doubt your genome is so fricked that you cannot get out of silver in league

I don't know how to improve at something like league since there's just so many variables, and I find the objectives overwhelming. I never know where I'm supposed to be outside of laning. And even mechanically I'm bad, I almost always lose trades and fights.

      are you having fun?
ffxiv PvP is a total joke and doesn't matter. norm raids / trials are pretty easy though not sure how you're having trouble with them unless you're high as shit or undergeared.
apex it seems like you might wanna work on your aim. i dont think you should bother but if you do want to, try kovaak's aim trainer.
if csgo is too hard you could try r6:siege. both are about the same but siege has easier maps to learn i think.
league is completely pointless especially at this point but if you follow some silver to diamond guides im sure you could do it, it would just be a lot of work and not very fun.
anyways are you having fun? that matters a lot more than whatever competition / skill bullshit you seem to be sticking yourself with.
if you're using trainers to beat souls-likes i think you're kind of missing out on the best part of the game where you triumph over something that beat you so many times.

Yeah I do have fun, but when I put in hours and see no change I just get discouraged.

PLEASE don't take offense to this, I do not mean it in a derogatory way, but are you female?
If so, perhaps try something like animal crossing or the sims?
If you really want to play a "competitive" game perhaps something like mechabellum might be up your alley? It's an autobattler (A very good one) and doesn't require much mechancial skill, just strategy.
Maybe try some turn-based strategy games too, I really like master of orion, master of magic, age of wonders, maybe you might like civ, rollercoaster tycoon, or citybuilders like anno, try anno 1800

        >I don't know how to improve
That is abundantly clear. For complex games it's usually better to focus on a single skill at a time even if your overall performance is worse while you're practicing that particular skill (last hitting for example).

Iktf bro, I have thousands of hours CS:GO and I'm still total ass. I have genuine 3 different accounts with 1500, 1k, and 600 hours each and I was still silver in all of them aside from when I got to Gold Nova 1 before immediately deranking. I honestly think I have some hand/eye coordination disability because of how bad I am. I've a ton of time in aim trainer too and I never got anywhere. It's like the ability simply isn't there
I have over a thousand hours in TF2 as well but I'm also terrible at it. I had to stop playing because it got too frustrating and upsetting just getting shit on and taunted/flamed in chat like whenever someone ubers me and I whiff all my shots.
I've been playing the souls games recently and I have to do them offline because I lose every single PvP fight and don't seem to get better
