Such an entertaining game. I'm grateful for everything Capcom has done and how they continue to push their brand and strive for excellent gaming experiences.

Didn’t they completely fuck up nemesis?

      Anonymous

Yes, and no Merc mode. Look the original was amazing, but it was short as fuck. But they made a 4-8 hour game (and that's first play through if you hadn't played a RE game before), to a 2-4 hour game first play through, that has no replayability.

Just showing my credentials. This game would pass as a good RE3 if you didn't play the original. When they reduced Nemesis to a fucking collection of setpiece encounters and ruined the classic design, you fucked up. Start over. When you take the iconic line and put it in a throwaway chase sequence an 45 minutes - an hour into the game and 99.99% of the time it gets interrupted by Nemesis punching you in the back of the fucking skull because he spawns 3 inches behind you, you fucked up. Start over.

    Its ok

I played 3 for the first time right after it and it's a way better experience. Surprised at how much more intimidating and cool Nemesis is in the original, kind of crazy that he feels more dynamic in a game that's decades older

      Anonymous

Crazy how people bitch about some throwaway garbage like zapping in RE2 and just ignore all the different ways Nemesis would get the drop on your ass in 3

  13. 2 weeks ago
    Anonymous

It's not that it's bad, it's that 3 is my favorite game in the series and they cut some of my favorite moments out and ruined the core aspect of it which is nemesis coming for that asshole around every corner.

And it won't get another remake obviously, so it's a giant pile of wasted potential

  14. 2 weeks ago

Genuinely the shortest Resident Evil game I've ever played. First run was 3.5 hours and that was looking for all collectibles.
    >tfw I fucked up the gun scene with Nikolai and had to do Nemesis on Inferno twice
I got it for $15 so I can't complain too much. For full price, I would have been pissed.

I really don't get why it couldn't have been DLC for ReMake2. I really enjoyed 2, and just don't know why 3 is so short and they had to cut the story.

I beat REmake3 in little over 2 and a half hours first try. I played Nemesis (Hard mode obviously) for the first time in over a decade and it took me 5 hours (and I only saved 3 times).

Re3 was a quick cashgrab spinoff turned into a numbered title because they can reuse re2 assests
Re3make is a quick cashgrab expansion turned into a full game because they can reuse re2make assests
In a way people got exactly what they wanted

    >scripted "cinematic" "oh no no no everything exploding/falling down around you, but really you're just pressing forward button" and QTE segments straight out of Uncharted bullshit

I think it's a better game than the original. I like the fixed camera REs but it's a terrible fit for action-oriented gameplay, third person is better for the style RE3 was going for. But an actual faithful remake with all of the locations from the original included could have been just as good as RE2R.

I find it better to be fixed camera because it felt more horror than action, just faster paced horror. I think the barrels were a mistake, but besides those I was running a majority of the time, trying to avoid everything.

I've enjoyed every REmake so far except 1. I think original 1 was superior there, because REmake 1 turned the mansion into a shitty spooky theme park house, where in RE1 the mansion looked eerily clean for the most part, yet the lights were on. It was stark and unnerving.

      Anonymous

In terms of story, REmake was a big change, but was the directors original vision. 2 was pretty much the same game with QoL and modern stuff, so a genuine improvement and more like a horror game than anything. 3 was just a rushed game.

dualshock is the appropriate way to play RE1. years ago i remember cringing at the shitty le farting clowns basement ost, but i have been enlightened.
re1 story is shit, the dialog is a joke by itself, its super cheesy to the point of being endearing and the bad music the dualshock version has elevates the experience to being really really really fucking funny

    >cut out all the extra content like mercenaries and costumes and extra weapons and replace them with a shitty multiplayer NO ONE wanted.
    >undermine the iconic monster by relegating it to cutscenes and setpieces, turning it into a weird dog and stealing its only STARS member kill.

This was a terrible demake of a great PS1 game, that said, no matter how much people shitpost about it, new Jill is very pretty.

For a 15 dollar game, sure. 60 dollars for this was fucking insane. It feels worse than 2 in every aspect. Even shooting the zombies wasn't as satisfying. Nemesis is a joke and a complete non-threat. This game is only good if you see it as a cheap throwaway game.

There is something about RE2 and 3 HD that bores me to death and I dont know what it is exactly. Might be that the game does not want you to RE4 it and run past the enemies. Also the guns feel and sound like shit.

It's good but they changed some stuff, like, you can't really shoot zombies legs to make them incapable or that they clearly cut (for the lack of budget or time) the Clock Time, that I believe should be played with Carlos, after that part that Jill pass out. Than they fixed it with that part in the hospital, which felt strange.

    It's good, but incomplete.
