Any Pokémon you can import you can just catch in games anyways. The dexcut totally destroyed the value of imported mons. The reason I can think of is GTS.

Because they are your Pokemon and the whole appeal is that you can bring in Pokemon from previous adventures. There are people whose favorite Pokemon have been stuck in home for going on four years and haven't been usable in a single game since SM. The dexcut is horrible conceptually and is worse than not being able to transfer gen 2 Pokemon to gen 3 since your Pokemon could at least still be used and aren't trapped in Limbo, it also deleted a fuck ton of moves including signature moves. Unknown literally has no usable moves because hidden power was removed and might not ever come back, not that anyone's favorite Pokemon is Unown but it's the principle of the matter. Game freak is the only company that can remove content and make the games objectively worse and be celebrated for it

I will say, in defense of dexfags, GF seems at this point to be holding out on HOME for the sole purpose of forcing you to catch the same mons in each installment rather than just transferring in. If that's the way they're gonna play it, they might as well give dexfags what they want since both they and GF want the game to be about attribute autism.
My living/HOME dex is pretty important to me. And the fact that I’m paying for it while having to wait this long is kinda ridiculous.

You fags keep asking this. People want to add the paldea mons to their national living home dex and/or transfer mons between games. There are some regional forms that are unobtainable in SV and there are some mons that only evolve in PLA.
Having a home living dex is a cuck move after they screwed over collectors with the dexcut in the first place.
The point of importing Pokemon from previous games is to keep your prized bros with you forever. Yeah some of the old games forced you to import from previous gens/games to complete the pokedex, which was silly. But the main purpose of importing from previous games now is, as it should be, to bring the Pokemon you're attached to with you to the next game. However the dexcut destroys this because I'll try to import a team of 6 from a previous game playthrough and oops 1 or 2 of those Pokemon aren't allowed. It's heart breaking not being able to keep my teams together. It's 2-3 sitting locked on Home waiting for SV to maybe let them in and the others sitting in a box on SwSh wondering if they'll ever see their friends again. It's the opposite of family friendly; it's like prisoner camps demoralizing you by breaking up your squad so you can't plan an escape together.
Possibly so they can make it harder to get hacked Pokemon into the games. They just released an update for the 3DS that breaks all current hacking methods that don't require additional hardware, though those who already have it hacked are fine. Maybe next they will update Bank/Home servers to be better at detecting hacked Pokemon, and possibly update Bank to detect when it's on a hacked 3DS and refuse to run.
