Hopes:
>Expanded city planning a la Medieval 2, or at the very least Shogun 2
>Actual population mechanics

>No leaderless armies (it makes sense for giant stacks, it does not for a single unit)
>Health bars

>avoidant gameplay (kill general to rout army vs kill army to rout general)

is there another city hunter coming out?
is this the Netflix show that's getting sued?
the what huh?
There's a Netflix "documentary" that's just a bunch of unironic biggoted black people saying cleopatra was black and they're telling any egyptian they're racists and colonizers or some shit. It's genuinely some of the most morally disgusting shit I've seen in a while since it's just a group of people telling an entire country their history and culture isn't actually theirs.
Yeah, the gall of these folk
The best part is some old lady saying her grandma told her to ignore literally everybody in the world since Cleopatra is black in her grandmas mind.
the pharaohs were literally blond hair and blue eyed as well as the original romans and greeks. the only retard here is you.
WE WUZ-
funnily enough there were some pharaohs that did look like the guy on the left.
Its laughable they would even call it a documentary. Even black people are mad about it.
imdb has it written as a fictional retelling yet it's still categorized as a documentary.
cant we just shake these garden gnome parasites off and move on? the only thing theyre good at is jerking each other off.
>produced by Jada Smith

Well Egyptians are being occupied by arabs.

Is this a new Asterix movie or is this the old one?
>takes place before the Bronze Age Collapse
oh great so its gonna be a fantasy game basically since we know nothing about anything except for Egypt.
I could see the map extending into Nubia/Kush and Persia though, and probably westwards into Greece
Mission Cleopatra is fuckin great but do yourself a favour and skip straight to it, the first Asterix live action movie sucks
take on Ceasar actually has a fucking KINO OST
I had forgotten all about that OST.
I also loved the 80's cartoon OSTs too.
What we actually know
>Takes place in bronze age Egypt just before the bronze age collapse
>Egypt, Canaan and Anatolia is the focus of the map, so pic related is the likely campaign map
>There will be a "sea peoples" invasion mechanic
>My guess is that the sea peoples will be some kind of proto-viking barbarian faction, which is semi-confirmed by photo 2
I'm going to play as the Sea People and slaughter the proto-garden gnomes in Canaan.
Game has already 4 faction DLCs lined up. What could they possibly be? Ethiopian Kangs ?
>Sea Peoples
>Assyria+Babylon
>Nubia/Kush/Aethiopia
>Greeks/Trojans (again)
>Amazons (again)
Assyria, Myceneans maybe?, Hebrew tribes, Nubia, Kassites (Babylonians), and so on.
>bronze age
good
>sea peoples
good
>middle/near eastern and levant peoples
good
They show a literal ball of shit for longer than any human characters in the trailer, it seemed like an odd design choice on their part.
>morons can't into metaphors
It's a representation of the growth of your empire and the eventual conflict with others.
It's also fitting since the game will be shit like all modern total war.
it's all about the adventure, bro. the journey. where is that little feller going with that perfectly round little beautiful ball of shit? no one knows! let's find out!

I havent bought a total war gave since ROME 2 and its horrible shit. I agree with OP completely. What else do they need to make the game good?
prioritize optimization,
include shogun 2 pvp
no gay animated 3d portraits
no shitty hud like in all the new games
no hero units
return to form with historical reelvance
Fuck CA why dont people just mod their exes and make their own shit. It cant be that hard to disssemble now with AI advancements. I literally never see anyone talk about it and have no idea why.
No sorry, we can only argue whether Egypt was 100% Aryan White or 100% coal Black with no in between
no one ever said they were white ayran, just they arent black, you racist idiot
Ancient Egyptians were Black. Cry moar, pencil dick chud.
black is an unnatural skin color. no people started out as black.
Nta but cope harder. Ancient Egyptians from the 1st - 12th dynasties were primarily people of Blackid descent and admixture. Ancient Romans and Greeks also depicted Ancient Egyptians are dark skinned people with Blackid features.
The nubians ruled Egypt for an extremely short time in their overall history but yes, we know they existed.
bLacks
could be worse. Could be the countless examples of blacks comparing themselves to Akhenaten who only looked similar because he was hideously deformed.
Cope

these are brown coptic people btfo Blackids
>Can't have threads for this game because of this infamous schizo

>ignores pictures of Blackid Pharoahs to continue coping
Kek no wonder your grandparents died for nothing
that's not a pharaoh, that's mansa musa, a king from west africa
that being said west african kingdoms are cool too
why can't we get a game about this? Hell any game about sub-saharan Africa? Are blacks really that insecure?
normies don't know about it so publishers refuse to feature it, and in turn that means afrocentrists won't focus on it because they either don't know about it themselves and/or it's not appealing enough as a result of it's obscurity .,
West African traditional religion survives in secret to this day, and many people each year are murdered in secret rituals so the wealthy and powerful can use their blood and body parts to (they believe) cast black magic spells. Look up "Adam" (torso found in London) and the Ibadan Forest of Horror.
That's either Mansa Musa or a representation of the mythological king Prester John. It's also clearly a medieval creation. Get better bait fool.
Also, nobody is saying that there weren't black pharoahs at some point. There were:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twenty-fifth_Dynasty_of_Egypt
But the majority of Egyptian dynasties were of the native population of proto-Semitic proto-Arab peoples who would look fairly similar to modern Egyptians. As for the Ptolemies, they were descended from a Greek general of Alexander and practiced consanguinity.
i thought they were semitic, at least northerly

My guess is Mycenaeans DLC
>Slower, heavier, historical-ish combat
That would be nice, I'm kinda tired of the multiplayer in Total War being pretty much just units kiting each other and the one who loses is the player who gets sick of it and commits first.
Why is Egypt so based?
They show off the boobs without a bra
SEX
SEX WITH EGYPTIAN WOMEN
Yes
I have to agree.
yes
Wouldn't work as just Egyptians, it would have to incorporate the whole of the Eastern Mediterranean and Mesopotamia in the Bronze Age. The Egyptians just weren't a very warlike or expansionist people. Their wars were mostly just defending their own borders against Levantine and Nubian incursions. Its was only really in the New Kingdom they launched some campaigns up into the Levant to fight the Hittites.
There's a bunch of Egyptians in my area and they all look Hispanic
o.g. egyptians are all way dead. they're all just a mix of various moron mutt races now, sadly. it makes me sad when a beautiful race dies. the world needs more beauty, not less. and it certainly doesn't need more mixed brown fucking mutts.

Me too Anon, me too But we both know that it won't happen, every game for the last 10 years has been a reskin of Rome 2 with minor additions because CA is still mad that it was crucified on release for being the garbage it was
>conquer egypt
There better be a nightmare difficulty Israelite faction.
I'd bring her to Rome, if you catch my drift.
The return of family trees and the slower old combat would be great because the combat in a lot of newer titles has been nothing short of dogshit. Alas, I said great and if there's one thing CA are allergic to it's doing some great or beneficial. It'll probably be another Troy.
I see videos of the warhammer games and they just look like arcade shit. So much style over substance. And they STILL can't seen to get half the games systems working right.
Every single new release has broken factions and sieges.
Give me back my visual armor upgrades!
I loved going to battle with my newly retrained units in Med2 and see them go from unarmored, to leather, to chain, to plate etc.
you will get the blood DLC until the end if time as IIRC CA did it to skirt around the age rating
also you're probably getting no leaderless armies too as CA's modus operandi since Rome 2 is bandaid fixes with no attempt to actually address the root problems of the games
>AI armies would rather have 1000 3-unit armies wandering around than build actual armies?
lol just make it so they need generals
>we still haven't fixed siege AI?
lol just make it so they only have one direction to siege from
>we still couldn't figure out how to make the AI smarter at higher difficulties?
lol just give them a whole bunch of stat boosts and infinite money
100% the series is shit now because CA can't actually fix anything anymore so they just cut stuff out.
But somehow, Modders get shit to work.
I actually enjoyed Empire quite a lot, and Shogun 2 refined it all to almlst perfection. Then they utterly shit the bed with Rome 2 and have never been able to get things right since. I would love to know what happened, did half the team leave or something?
Despite being a dramatic cuntmuffin Darth's Empire mod made the game go from 5/10 to 10/10 imo.
AI is still frightfully stupid. Medieval 2 was the peak and nothing else comes close,.with the exception of Attila, but the engine is clearly not that good for melee.
Yes, has to be played with darthmod, there are other mods but I find they get too autistic and add too much shit that was never meant to be there
remember when they said they couldnt give gunners a reload animation because of engine limitations, and within what, a week? someone made a mod for it and it works flawlessly.
as Warhammer fag, i gotta say i do not care about Total War games without fantasy or sci-fi elements. it'd be crazy if they got a deal to make a Total War Star Wars Old Republic game.
it even keeps the naming convention of collaborating with other IP who have War in their name.
AoS total war soon friend
>Sigmar
would you really want that? i'm a Vermintide/Total War secondary and even i know AoS isn't exactly well liked.
You are the one asking for literally nothing but shit. What's the problem with AoS?
As a history fag, I gotta say I want to stab you in the face for ruining one of the few decent historical wargame series
that's cool, however I don't really care as churning out Warhammer shit does not incentivise CA to actually improve over just making $10 character packs for 7 straight years
>Warhammer fag doesn't actually care about the games and just wants more media of shit franchises to consume
Absolutely shocking
The problem is that historical realism is boring and restrictive to game design and has literally no up-side unless you specifically get hard over historical realism. I don't necessarily care about Warhammer in particular, I'm just very glad TW has been unshackled from the boring tedium of realism.
I'd agree with this if Warhammer Fantasy wasn't one of the most generic fantasy settings ever
>Main human faction is just Germans
>Secondary human faction is just the French
>Orkz are the same as every other type of Orc except British
>Vampires are just the stereotype
>Wood elves are just the stereotype
>High elves are just the stereotype
>Dark elves are just the stereotype
>Dwarfs are just the stereotype but angrier
>Beastmen are just Chaos but furries
>Norsca is just Chaos but without armor
>Cathay is just China but with dragons
Lizardmen, Chaos Dwarfs, and Vampire Coast are the only interesting factions, but Lizardmen and Chaos Dwarfs were horribly neglected in the actual tabletop, and Vampire Coast was basically nonexistent.
I am legitimately convinced they're only making this to spite the historyfags, knowing it will flop so they can justify selling out again and making an Age of Sigmar trilogy that they will drag out for almost a decade that no one wants but will still sell well because it has Warhammer in the title and that's all it needs, because that what it felt like happened with Thrones of Britannia
What a retarded take. Almost everything you wrote about the factions is straight up wrong.
well... the lord of the rings was just about regular dwarves and elves and shit, you know? it's what you do with it that makes it interesting, you know?
>as Warhammer fag, i gotta say i do not care about Total War games
We know, I like warhammertw but appealing to warhammer fags is the worst thing to ever happen to tw
Shitty false flag to incite hatred between Warhammer enjoyers and history chads. have a nice day.
i can tell you right now for a guaranteed fact that blood effects will be nickel and dimed. ca does that shit with every single game now.
>almost no porn of her
>no blender shit yet
it's over
Sorry to say OP but you are probably going to get all of those at once if total war troy was anything to go off of.
Only newfags to TW games think this will be good.
Minor titles are NEVER good.
Nothing can make up for the sense of scale of 'grand' campaigns. Certainly not weather effects, or family trees.
What game is the slut in the OP from?
She's actually from a recent movie. Mummies.
can't find any rule 34 ;__;
Most likely not but I agree
it would be hilarious given how people have used him as a talking point about black people in Egypt when in reality he was hideously deformed and inbred
I might be totally ignorant, but I fail to see how there's enough of an audience for a TW: Egypt game.
Chinks: obvious
Japs: weeaboo audience
Roman: based
Medieval: based
Who the fuck cares about EGYPT?
there are barely any bronze age games
mind as well give it a shot
i could MAYBE play it if the map is really really large. i'm dead tired of playing the same few total war games, i've played them all to death and then some. shogun2, rome2, atilla, empire, whatever. give me a new historical total war game with a gigantic map and a shit tons of settlements and i'm good. more and larger, the better, in fact. that's primarily why i want medieval3. i want to see how large they can make europe now with modern hardware and such.
Attila is the closest we may come to med III. Thankfully it’s arguably the best total war game ever made. And it has a good Medieval mod too.
There's a lot of Stuff in Atilla I still don't like, mods can get tweak to almost being there, but it suffers to many issues of being a new engine game. The 1212Ad mod is good, had a lot of fun with it, but its still hamstrung being built off Atilla and it not being mod friendly.
Cheap ranged units are just far too powerful, shit settlement slots and garrison system, and the siege maps are wank.
I want them to make a system that basically generates a map like civ does, I'm sick of conquering Europe.
Oh yeah Egyptology is only one the most popular historical subjects.
Egypt was pretty popular a few years ago, but I think in the 2010s that died out or at least shrunk
I'm thinking Egypt is making a comeback
I think not. Take this really shitty copper instead

>Who the fuck cares about EGYPR?
in terms of studying history it is possibly the most overrated subject ever besides medieval England
It created an interest in Mesopotamia as a response from people who wanted to study bronze age society but were sick of looking at Egypt constantly. Ancient Egypt is the first thing you think of when you think of when asked what existed before Greece rose to prominence.
Anon Egypt is literally one of the big three when you think ancient civilizations, along with rome, and greece. Well china if you also include that. All of those have already had their games, except Egypt.
>except Egypt
Every other game in the 90s had an Egypt based level
I meant Total War. The egypt in Total War before had always been about Ptolemaic egypt which is more greeks larping as egyptians and fighting like greeks. We never had egypt as bronze age egypt when it was still ruled by pharaohs.
Re used Troy assets. Troy even had an Egypt faction.
You're stupid, as
and
says it is one of the most common historical settings in media, alongside medieval Europe, classical antiquity, feudal japan, and now increasingly china.
If you wanna talk about history most people don't care about, then talk about Mesopotamia, India and Southeast Asia, Mesoamerica, the Andes, West Africa, or any area that didn't have urban civilizations.
And if anything a Mesopotamian or Medieval Hindu or Aztec game would be way more interesting precisely because nobody ever does anything with those.
Um, I have wanted a good Ancient Egypt RTS for ages. It's far more interesting to me than any asian slop or yet another Eurowank. I say this a huge Romanboo.
Age of Empires
Age of Mythology
Nta but way too old. I just want something new. Meanwhile we get rome, greek and norse shit every single time.
Love both those games but man they are almost 30 years old now.
does children of the nile and Pharaoh count as rts?
Never played this one, is it good?
It's alright if you want a tropico type game set in egypt
>Who the fuck cares about EGYPT?
Me
Egyptsexo
Dumb breeding gremlin.
Let me just kill your hopes and dreams now, it's literally just gonna be Troy in a different setting
And Troy was great, only not that polished due to its lower budget. The mechanics it introduced however was great, like the resource system, the mount and blade style unit upgrades, units being able to switch weapons, and it also had one of the most beautiful campaign maps and battle maps in the series. Its only real flaw was sieges due to the lack of siege engines.
Good concepts but the engine was breaking down, collision was awful. And this will be another budget title.
I somewhat liked how responsibe each unit was at least. If you want collision issues see wh3. Fucking units still have goddamn pathfinding issues a year later and sometimes cannot shoot despite havinf a clear los just because the enemy unit is hiding behind a small rock.
>Take the best parts of Attila and Rome 2 alongside 3K diplomacy
>All of a sudden you have a good historical game
Is that so hard to ask?
It was like 3K where there were a ton of good ideas that didn't get balanced well, fleshed out enough, or were broken due to bugs. Hopefully they decide not to neglect it again post launch like they do with everything except Warhammer, but I really doubt it.
The campaign options are the only thing I find interesting about it, but to their credit I find it VERY interesting. If I had campaign options in 3K I would probably put another 400 hours into it.
Just another low budget cash grab to fuel the slow moving company destroying train wreck that is Hyenas. Even tww3, the world's easiest slam dunk, didn't escape.
>low budget
retard alert

New to CA? They alternate between big release and little release. Warhammer last year was their pathetic attempt at a big release. This will just be another little release.
>people getting excited for a Troy reskin
Historyfags are truly pathetic.
Hope you preordered too.
still not low budget
Ok lil guy when they come out and call it a sagas title assuming they haven't figured out thats the kiss of death, you can just go ahead and commit etika.
being shit or niche has nothing to do with budget.

i liked the egypt stuff in secret world
making akhenaten and the sun cult stuff the big bad in the region was neat
why do they look like half black half white
>new tw
Qrd? Do we know anything yet?
Was hoping for medieval or shogun sequels, dunno how can they make Egypt any interesting/fun beyond a mini-entry like Troy or Britannia
Here
>you can play as 3 major cultures, egyptians, canaanites and hittites
>the goal is to become either pharaoh or become the great king of the hittites; canaanites can be either (probably referring to how Joseph in the bible also became a prince of egypt)
>8 faction leaders at the start; 4 egyptian lords, 2 from canaan and 2 from the hittites
>lots of mechanics from Attila, Rome 2, 3K and Troy are returning, with the new stuff being new weather systems like desert storms impacting unit performance or having to build ladder platforms in order to climb walls instead of every unit automatically pulling out hidden ladders
>campaign map stretches from kush in the south to anatolia in the north east
Huh, that does sound kinda neat. Hope they can make sieges fun since there's something new, tw's been weak on that front for a while now. Cheers

A son of King Merneptah and chosen heir to Egypt's throne, the crown prince's sole rule is immediately challenged in his first year. He had a firm grasp on Lower Egypt with Men-Nefer (Memphis) as his capital.
>Amenmesse
The challenger to the throne is the probable half-brother of Seti, usurping his rule over Upper Egypt, eventually securing Waset (Thebes).
>Tausret
The royal wife of Seti, although possibly also his half-sister and the sister of Amenmesse as well. Following the death of her husband she became queen-regent to the young King Siptah. It is said that the Trojan War occurred during her reign.
>Bay
Serving the Egyptian religious and political spheres for a long career despite his commoner origin, this Syrian-born scribe would become an invaluable asset to Seti during his reign. After the king's passing he played a crucial role in ensuring Siptah, the son of Amenmesse and a Canaanite concubine, took the throne with Tausret as regent. Such was his influence at this point that he was slated to become the first commoner to have a tomb in the Valley of Kings, and tradition suggests he seduced Tausret into giving him access to Egypt's treasury, but eventually his audacity was no longer tolerated and Bay was executed on the king's orders.
>Irsu
A Shasu chief who leads the Canaanite territories of Egypt. An alliance was formed with Tausret during her reign allowing his de facto rule in Canaanite territories, but his forces openly plundered and raided into Egypt proper following her death.
>Kurunta
This prince was granted rule over Tarḫuntašša, once briefly the empire's capital. But he, like his namesake god, is not content with mere fiefdom and has begun to call himself "Great King" in light of his successful conquests.
>Šuppiluliuma II
The final king of the Hittite New Kingdom who fought against Tarḫuntašša, Alashiya, and the Sea Peoples. Notable for leading the earliest recorded naval battle.
>Trojan War
Wonder how/if they'll represent that given how mythologised it is.
TW troy was already a thing. They can just handwave it.
Oh yeah, I keep forgetting those CA B-team ones. They're like paid mods.
Pharaoh is the same studio as Troy, apparently it was well-received enough to greenlight a full title
The last dlc for troy was actually really good and added a lot of QoL.
You forgot Ramesses III but good summary. I wonder if Egypt will have a civil war mechanic.
>1922x1080
>776KB
Hope they make the factions interesting. Also
>the egyptian characters are designed to look black
Mandatory WE
Tausret doesnt look black to me. Neither does Seti.
Oh, good. I just went off what I saw in the trailer.
It's honestly only Ramesses that looks vague racially as its just CA trying to please all crowds. But the other egyptian characters are a white guy, a brown girl and an old man.
>vague racially
The Rock. The word you want to use is "The Rock."
Yeah that works too. The rock/dwayne never came off as a moron to me but he doesnt fit other racial phenotypes either. He's just a huge brown bald man.
He's half Samoan, 1/4 black 1/4 white.
>what I saw in the trailer
An accurate depiction of him?
You've already been disproven with genetic studies in this very thread. Keep ignoring the truth you retarded bulb head. Is being Somali really that rough that you have to steal other peoples history?
This is Ramesses III's mummy.
>AI reconstruction from reddit
Wow, I've been disproven by "genetic studies" clearly.
Then show me a genetic study of Ramesses III then proving what phenotype he is. Mind you Ramesses III, not Ramesses II.
Idk if this is the schizo anon who thinks Pharoahs were black or a random anon trying to disprove the fucker but either way, STOP ARGUING WITH THE FUCKING SCHIZO! GUY THINKS ANCIENT GREEKS WERE BLACK TOO!
It's irrelevant since a person of the same phenotype can have different skin color if he has lived all of his life under the sun.
It also doesn't accurately get the color of both parents since one of them could be mixed, it's merely a way to gather what % of DNA someone had, it isn't an accurate representation of someone's characteristics.
Pic related is another depiction of him made by his contemporaries, not an AI on reddit.
You can clearly see he has no moron facial features, but his skin is undeniably darker than you try to claim.
Go look at fishermen in southern europe that lived all their life under the sun, you will see they are darker than some arabs even if they are part of the meme R1b haplogroup from hyperborea n shiet.
Will you acknowledge it this time or just ignore it as usual?
>he thinks that looks like a somali
Embarrassing.
I don't but there is a schizo somali that does the whole Egypt wuz black schtick, despite the fact that genetic studies have shown that modern Egyptians have more black dna than their ancient counterparts. So they are literally blacker today than they were back then.
>Blood DLC
Pretty much a given.
>Hero units
The store page indicated bodyguard units for generals, so hopefully this is a return to actual historical games, along with unit formations.
>No leaderless armies
Also gonna be a given with how their recent games have worked.
>Health bars
Most likely.
>overreliance on mythological shit
I don't think they're gonna go this route.
>avoidant gameplay
I doubt this will be much different.
>overreliance on mythological shit instead of romanticized history
Egyptian mythology does not have the same kinds of monsters and heroes that the Greeks do
the closest thing to heroes are the pharaohs themselves, just because they were representatives of the gods on earth, and any monsters are underworld-dwelling demons
What name of the character or show she is from? I wanna look her up on r34.
Read the thread as it has been mentioned already
please be more like shogun 2 and less everything that came after
>No leaderless armies
Didn't they adopt this specifically so the AI wouldn't split their armies into a million billion pieces, also how would you realistically fix this that takes the AI into account.
funny, I don't remember AI army spam being a problem before they forced generals
I don't get your post, the AI splitting their armies was an issue in both the Warscape games that allowed it.
Yes it was. Play as France in med2 was a nightmare with all the 4-5 unit armies running all around the place that only exist to piss you off
The AI has always been shit, they should focus on fixing that instead of all the stupid bullshit they've been adding or trying to design workarounds
>bronze age collapse
I hope its as hardcore as attila was I don't want bronze age collapse to feel like breeze it needs to feel like world as you know it is ending and you need to adapt whilst giving your 110% to sruvive.
Modern CA can't make good total wars to save their lives. Warhammer tw was an improvement from what they've been doing since fucking Empire but it was still mediocre.
Fuck lords as a requirement for armies, fuck caps on armies, fuck units pulling ladders out of their asses, fuck the tiny maps, fuck the archer meta, fuck the limited building slots, fuck the arcadey shit, fuck the AI openly cheating on movement, fuck the farscape engine.
P.S. cannons and most artillery will still be useless in sieges.
CA is more concerned with forcing unattractive women into a historic context they have no place being than actually making a decent game.
>Not Total War: Sumer
I sleep
Babylonia was just better.
>imagine never asking for troy
>they release it anyway
a few years later they re-release troy, a game that no one cared about even when given away for free and cross the troy part and replace it with pharaoh
creative assembly is a fucking headless serpent with no point in existing
and they will never topple their last good works.. and their last cool game was attila, released 15 years ago
I'd argue it was Medieval II. Farscape is fucking shit
I really liked napoleon tw even though the scope was smaller than empire, but with most of the bugs fixed
shogun 2 was also pretty good
attila was decent
the rest ranges from souless turds to fantasy shit for chinks
Empire, Napoopan and Shogun II at least tried new shit but they started the cancer of the province system, replenishment, limited building slots etc. The engine is just shit for anything that isnt gunpowder combat.
I havent played Atilla but I tried Rome II and conquered the entirety of northern europe with a bunch of literal clubmen as a germanic tribe. it had no energy, personality or soul compared to Rome I, completely sterile. I dont know if Atilla is the same but I didnt want to try after that shitfest.
engine was the real death knell for the series and total war never recovered from it. even today, design choices asides, you can see its troubled legacy.
Rome 2 started the province shit. Empire changed the settlement system but I quite liked it, the buildings were just spread about the region instead of being focused in the one region capital. Farmlands and industry centers being in separate areas and new towns being developed how you liked worked really well an make areas feel like real places. Being able to garrison ports to protect or raze then and potentially cut off huge trading profits was a great idea
I agree those were great ideas, but in turn I also feel like blocking ports of AI factions never did anything. The naval battles were really cool too, but its obvious the rot started with Empire. I mostly blame the engine but there's a bunch of design changes that started with Empire that've carried on to modern TW that make the newer games worse for it, I think we can agree on that much
I wouldn't say the rot started there, they did new stuff and they refined into Shogun 2/Fall of the Samurai which plays really well for it chosen setting.
Rome 2 was the complete fall from grace, actually lying with previews of stuff that wasnt in the game, utterly broken on release, awful AI and so so many bad design choices that must make it slog to play.
you say that like Empire TW was even playable on launch though
I know it had issues too, but once patched it was fun to play still, and the campaign maps still not been matched. Rome 2 is just shit even after year sof patches and started the trend of 'remove features because we can get them to work'
I would love a game using Fall of the Samurai mechanics and gameplay, but with a map on the scale of Empire (or even bigger still) set from 1700s upto 1900. I don't see why it can't be done
FINALLY
>nadreality show
bato, šta ima?
if ancient china was a limited setting, than ancient egypt is even more so. who is making these calls?
Making history about white civilizations is "problematic" so it's not an option anymore.
>history
history games*
Unlike 3chinkdoms it won't be just egypt, it will have hittites n shiet.
what was his name again?
I wish he showed his little pee pee more
Will Ambatukam tribe be playable?
naval combat or gtfo
