At 50% off at least. I haven't bought a single Dlc for this series at full price. Hell I haven't even bought Warhammer 3 yet. There seems to be very little incentive with Siege battles being such a slog and so numerous due to tier 3 settlements getting walls for whatever fucking reason.
I'm not a communist so Russians, Chinks, and overweight Mongolians dont appeal to me.

am I a brainlet if I'm awful at this game. I just make equal sized armies crash into one another yet I always lose
I don't like the actual battles. It feels like everything looks the damn same on your own team, everything is too slow, etc.
it seems so stupid when you watch "good' players like legend of total war play it.
He uses all these weird maneuvers and cheese strategies while spamming magic spells. I miss Rome 2 or Attila when just making armies fight was a fun spectacle to witness
Rome 2 and Atilla had tonnes of cheese. Horse Archers in Attila were completely broken and the AI had no idea how to counter them or use their own horse archers half as effectively as any player.
You don't need to play like that if you just turn down the difficulty to normal or hard. Legendary difficulty is made for cheese exploits.
You're expected to be able to win equal fights on normal and disadvantaged fights on hard and higher. I'm not really sure hiw you fuck up an equal fight against this AI.

I don't think the Witcher would be good, the appeal of the setting is the small scale, not the large scale strategic level stuff.

gwent showed that they know how to create tons of diverse units for each faction and you could add mystical creatures, sorceress or hero units and make it like warhammer or avoid those and make it more grounded like 3k
if it was for the witcher there'd be literal cuckolding diplomacy mechanics and any leaders with positive stats would be female

Honestly I'm just waiting for DLC packs for the WH3 races, with ogres and cathay topping my list.
If you just want access to the races no. The old ones IIRC only give you access to the legendary lords from their specific pack so unless you want to play as mel gibson or sigvald for instance you can just go ahead and buy the new ones
Why are Chorfs so hyped anyway? Are they really that cool or are people just making a big deal out of showing they know about the semi-obscure thing?
Little bit of both. I get the appeal, heavy duty, Chaos fueled industry is a cool aesthetic, but personally I never liked them all that much. Certainly never nearly as much as vanilla Dwarfs. Something about mixing in the orc/goblin chaff with the Dwarfs feels off aesthetically.
