Nintendo hasn't gone to events in almost a decade, this is not news..they do their own presentations.

No they just have an arcade set up, they aren't showing off anything. A floor plan had an area listed as being for them but it was just for the arcade not an actual Nintendo booth

I hope they don't show anything more for maximum meltdown when reviews are out and it gets another 97 with the only average score coming from the fat troony jim sterling

Eh this is an exact rehash of the shitposting script when Super Mario Galaxy 2 was announced and then the reviews came out and it was basically unanimously declared as somehow managing to be even better than SMG1, already getting perfect scores across the board.

Of course, Sony fanboys weren't so rabid back then, or rather, the ones that took PS3SUX so seriously and absorbed console warring into a fundamental aspect of their personality were still pre-teens and who got mindbroken by BOTW in the first place.

Why would it be at PAX? They'll just put out some videos because events like this are becoming pretty fricking redundant when you can just stream shit yourself.

i was always under the impression that they would just do a huge blowout of gameplay and information for """e3""" and that the game would release late june, but then i remembered that the game ACTUALLY releases early may. so i think they are purely banking on the fact that people will enjoy it because it's zelda

      >so i think they are purely banking on the fact that people will enjoy it because it's zelda
and they'd be right about that, I find it hilarious how there's quite a few spergs who've spent so much time shitposting about the game here they've somehow convinced themselves nintendo had everything to prove with this game instead of this being the sequel to one of the most popular games of the past decade

This. From what was shown and leaked through the artbook, they're going to bank hard on coasting on preorders without even showing the game.
Because if they show too much it'll rapidly become clear that it really is just Botw repackaged.

man this kind of sperg is going to have an episode of catastrophic magnitude in may, this is going to be hilarious

          Anonymous

oh, I have no doubt this game is going to sell incredibly well because Tendies have zero standards. Still won't change the fact that it's a $70 DLC that looks and plays exactly like BOTW, set in the exact same open world. It will be the same situation as with that new Pokemon game. Sure, it'll sell lots of copies, but people will still laugh at you for having such low standards.

Look man, I know for you it's all about getting that imaginary W when a multi million $ corporation you are a fan of makes a profit, but this game doing well will actually hurt Nintendo fans the most in the long run. It will tell Nintendo that it's ok to just do cheap cash grabs from now on because their userbase has no standards and will eat up anything. BOTW was a good game and had effort put into it. TOTK is basically Overwatch 2 and I am not okay with that.

If it's like PAX West, they usually just have an area with a bunch of Switches that you can play indie games/demos on. I don't think they did a BotW demo version back when it came out. I think they did them for Odyssey/Smash Ultimate, iirc.

I told everyone here that Nintendo wouldn't have as big a booth as they were thinking. Nintendo wouldn't have such a key thing at PAX, they don't give a shit about it. So, again. Information from those in the know.
    >Nintendo will have an April direct for Zelda only, likely on the 12th so that it is 30 days away from release.
    >The beginning of the game will start with Link waking up on the Sky Island, we aren't even told what happened until after Link goes through the tutorial.
    >Link meets Rauru, who tells him that his right arm was corrupted by Ganon's malice and Rauru needed to use his own power to save him
    >He tasks Link with finding the Tears of the Kingdom, which will be able to restore the Master Sword. There are 4 Elemental ones, Earth, Fire, Wind and Water. Later you find out there are 3 others. Shadow, Spirit and Light.
    >Link no longer has the old Runes of Bomb, Stasis, Cryonis or Magnesis. Those were part of the Sheikah Slate, which was with Zelda. Link now has Rauru's arm, which has similar powers. Telekenesis is the first one you get in the tutorial, much like you were nudged to get Magnesis first in BotW. It can pick up many objects and manipulate bigger ones. Hookshot is the next one. This allows the arm to lash out like Nero from DMC, it can bring Link to any wood surface, where he will start to climb. It can, after being upgraded, also grab enemies and bring them to Link. Phasing is next, it is mostly used when Link is underground and wants to get on top of it. It is the Niche rune with a condition to use, like Cryonis. As long as the ceiling is flat and the ground on top is level, you can jump up and pass through solid surface.
Time Reversal is the last and possibly most powerful of the new runes. Upgraded, it lets you reverse enemies as well. This allows you to reverse the path of falling objects into the sky. There are tons of objects that have fallen from the Sky Islands and you can use these as launching points.

Either the game is a 10/10 masterpiece they're withholding info about to increase the mystery of the world and it will be amazing or it's going to be a 3/10 disappointment that they're withholding info about because they know people won't buy it if they see what a lazy sequel it is.

There's like no in between where it's a 7/10 or 8/10 decent game. The review embargoes will be the biggest tell, if it opens like a week early it'll be a good game but if it's day of then it's going to be lackluster.

      >they're withholding info about because they know people won't buy it if they see what a lazy sequel it is
I legit don't know how anyone can unironically believe that

even if the game was just a dlc with minimal new content do you seriously believe that they couldn't craft a few trailers to sell the experience, they haven't even shown the core gameplay for frick's sake, I don't get how some of you guys can function

        Anonymous

Well here's the thing, consumers are getting sick of open world games because they've been shoved down their throat constantly year after year since BotW came out. Being more of the same, which isn't a necessarily a bad thing because BotW was a good game, is going to make people think that it's much worse than it is because they've played countless open world games since BotW came out. If there's not tons of dungeons people are going to directly compare it to Elden Ring and a 6/10 lazy sequel is going to feel like a 3/10 now that we have some other great games to compare it to.

Of course they can easily throw together some trailers to sell the game, but if there's not much to sell because it's the same game with some more content then they're better off leaving it shrouded in mystery until release so people can think it's going to be Elden Ring but better, instead of BotW with some small quality of life upgrades and a new section above the world to explore.
