    >the game has almost no content

seeing idris elba and that black woman in the trailer for the dlc put me off wanting to play that too

the E3 2018 trailer completely killed my hype so i went into it with no expectations, even then i still absolutely hated it for the first 6 hours

picked up from there but in hindsight the game felt completely empty, there's like 4 decent big quests outside the main story

it is really a shame that some of the quests are really too short, being so fricking amazing
talking about farm and conspiracy controlling goverment figures and joshua quests

yeah... i'm at the last mission already. I wish I had more than 2 chances to play as Johnny but I can't wait for the expansion :DDD. the game is rly fun still imo, just running and killing a bunch of crazy people

(honestly we should kill ourcorporate masters any chance we get haha!)

I don't get Cyberpunk. I thought I would like it, but CP2077 really showed how boring it is. Feels like a bit more dystopian GTA or something when I played it at friend's place.
I just don't get the appeal, even when CP2077 is considered the best showcase of cyberpunk there is. As a positive, knowing now that I don't like cyberpunk helped me clear some of my backlog for vidya, movies, and anime.

I did mean genre. Never looked too much into it, but kept hearing from quite many people here and elsewhere that it's the best cyberpunk stuff there is. Even without the bugs and glitches, it feels very off-putting and boring. Also the music didn't appeal to me, not a big fan of rap/RnB stuff. Felt very ghetto, but I guess that is some core cyberpunk stuff.

The whole genre gives me "GTA V but a bit in future" vibes. But hey, can't like everything. And not everyone should like everything.
Happy for people who are into cyberpunk stuff tho.
I'm gonna go play TF2. Have fun

you're an idiot and they were wrong, cyberpunk has works like those of william gibson which, while not exactly high literature, are better by far than 2077. even something like johnny mnemonic (based on gibson iirc) is miles better than 2077. some might argue that blade runner is cyberpunk as well.

what you did is like eating taco bell and deciding mexican food must be terrible. it's beyond ignorant, it's kind of autistic

so what other AAA games have you taken hype and advertisement for as gospel and written off entire genres due to it?

It's because you're right. CP77 is not cyberpunk, it's a futuristic GTA. For good representations of cyberpunk aesthetic look at Blade Runner and the Ghost in The Shell anime. CP77 doest get that cyberpunk isn't just futuristic shit. Cyberpunk is a mood, an atmosphere. High tech, low life. Low life, not cheap life.

it's like the time I read a Halo novel and realized science fiction was bad. that really cleared up my backlog of books, tv shows, anime, comics, graphic novels, visual novels, and video games. what a relief.

Nta, but is Halo considered by journalists and gamers to be peak sci-fi like 2077 is considered to be peak cyberpunk?

        And same to you
Is Taco Bell praised to heavens as best Mexican food there is?
I can kinda understand Anon, frickton of journos, """influencers""", and even Anons here praise 2077 to heavens and back.
I think it's just an embarrassing mess of a game.

That's what frickton of Anons, journos, and """influencers""" say. I don't agree at all, but I can kinda understand getting turned off of a genre when you think you experienced the best it has to offer and think it was kinda bad and boring.

I don't know who you've been listening to but when I hear cyberpunk I don't think of California with a couple more billboards. I think think of people walking narrow streets hiding between buildings so high you can't see the top of, I think think of barely any sun touching the ground so dense this maze of buildings are, I think of pharaonic structures almost completely automated, of people living in cramped spaces with their brains jacked into computers, of heavy rain pouring over the top of skyscrapers while flying cars maneuver among them. It's fricking sad to think of CP77 as cyberpunk.

I agree with you. I like Cyberpunk stuff, even when I'm not that familiar with it.
People do praise 2077 a frickton, so when you get told it is the best cyberpunk has to offer and you end up disliking it, it really can turn you off of it.
            2077 is trash

a lot of these people praising cyberpunk 2077 are either 1) shills you should not be listening to (I can't even imagine how much trash internet content you must browse to think anyone thinks 2077 is good) or 2) in your head. I'm strongly leaning 2

You're not wrong. 2077 is more of a soft-cyberpunk, I feel like it's art direction aims to be more 'realistic' compared to other works like The Ascent, Ruiner, Observer or Ghostrunner. The sad part is that we're already living in a cyberpunk dystopia and that life in the 'hellish' fantasy world of 2077 is actually better than life in reality in many ways.

I liked the game a lot more than I expected to but there's a pretty big gap in the quality of side-content between the more interesting stuff and the huge amount of odd-jobs that are just there to give you an excuse to shoot something.

Some really explore the dystopian concept of what it means for the corporations trying to profit off of casual dehumanization, while others are just run and gun "retrieve the computer data" gigs that you'd find in any open-world game.

This should have never been a first person shooter. It's clear they went with that because they lacked the talent for anything else. And I agree with anons, the game feels painfully empty despite the long playthrough time. The City feels dead as shit, and I'm being honest, it looks like a slightly futuristic GTA city, lacking most activities though. I'm thoroughly disappointed in this game. The people there are ugly, the city is ugly, the aesthetic is ugly (bro let's just wear our neon underwear on the streets).
I liked Johnny though, despite his voice work being atrocious at best. They should have gone with the original idea of making legend 'companions' of other celebrities.

I got a 3080 Ti the other day and just tried out CP2077 again. Current drivers. I'm at 1440p, settings are mostly High, Medium on the shadows, DLSS is set to Balanced, and RTX set to Medium. Just drove around the outlands a bit and was seeing around 101-88 fps. Is this normal? I was expecting a lot more at these settings.

Got a 3080 and with everything on max, no RT, 1440 p, it stays around 70fps. Which is the expected according to benchmarks. I can only think the game is badly optimized, which must be because it's also full of glitches.
