>Grenade indicators (Because console plebs play on TVs) >Regen HP (Forcing 1 single aggresive playstyle) >No recoil because analog sticks can't handle it
CoD2 was the end for PC CoD
CoD1's campaign is completely ruined by being an RNG ridden shitshow that demands savescuming to play on the real difficulties. CoD2 fixed it by making its enemy AI far more consistent in terms of accuracy and reaction times. Also FRICK THEM REMOVING HEALTH KITS ON VETERAN AND FRICK THE CONSTANT CAR/TURRET SECTIONS
at least it they still developed a seperate PC version, regardless of questionable gameplay changes
from MW2 onwards the games became literal console ports
>at least it they still developed a seperate PC version, regardless of questionable gameplay changes >from MW2 onwards the games became literal console ports
The gameplay is exactly the same. CoD2 was designed for controllers and televisions. It signalled the end of the series.

CoD2 is a party game designed for controllers and TVs. It brought in the dark ages of the fps genre for years.

CoD 2 e-sport scene was as big as cs 1.6 in Europe. It fragmented when MW1 came out with Promod but in total I'd say there was an equal amount of players on 1.6 and in MW1 and CoD2. Both of these scenes are still somewhat active despite complete negligence of Activision not giving a literal frick about them.
Activision just shitted on everyone in favour of consoles when MW2 came out effectively killing any further e-sport capabilities because we couldn't remove exactly the things you listed, which we did remove in CoD2 and CoD4.
Fun fact, on mw1 promod european scene enemies would show up on radar if they shot, but us scene had it disabled completely.

I'm well aware of how big CoD2 was. It got popular because of how accessible it was. It was a downgrade in every way from CoD1.

Recoil is dumb in these games because sometimes it was way too unnatural. A trained soldier is going to be able to control firing this gun way better like how the last part shows. I don't know why neckbeards like to b***h about recoil in certain games where it ain't warranted.
Its because the argument is always about these guns being unrealistic like laser guns when in reality recoil isn't going to function like how you see it in so many of these games. Its a case of people not knowing shit in actuality. I never shitted on recoil entirely, just on some shooters. A WW2 shooter being one of them.
No recoil needs a bit of skill and that's fine. Imagine playing a soldier who can just do it himself. Why even having recoil in the first place. All it does take some skill from the game.
I meant "No, recoil needs skill". Forgot the comma. Obviously. Did you even read further?

All of the gameplay was designed for controllers and TV's. It explains why it's fricking trash compared to CoD1.

Anon, you can fricking strafe jump. It's a fricking video game.
pdz looked like shit so cod2 got a huge promotional focus from microsoft. It became such a console associated brand from that cod3 didn't even get a PC release.
Right after Call of Duty 1 release, Infinity Ward wanted to make a shooter set in present times and made for consoles, basically they wanted to make COD4.
Activision gave them a choice, either they make a PC exclusive shooter set in present times, or WW2 shooter for consoles.
COD pre-MW is unplayable shit at this point. WW2 is unfortunately going to remain shit thanks to woke culture. No point now to these type of shooters until wokeness goes away.
I hate that there hasn't been a game with gameplay like CoD2 since 4 came out. Killing the infinite respawns and turning the games into set piece simulators with MW2 destroyed the flow of the combat. 17 years later and there is still nothing like turning on veteran mode and crawling through the mud and snow with insane corpses turned on
Started replaying CoD1 some time ago. You can already see the CINEMATIC PRESENTATION meme in some of the rail sections and such, but it was still overall enjoyable.
Made the mistake on playing Veteran though; Pavolv's House sucked all the joy out of it.
Veteran mode is the only way CoD campaigns should be played. Its the only difficulty that makes you think about how you approach combat instead of just walking forward and tanking all the bullets
Okay anon, you have to wait, and sometimes walk forward, holy crap

now you're just being reductionist. Having to master your situational awareness to know when and where you can advance is fun. More fun than the bland shooting gallery CoD is on default difficulties

There is no "situational awareness" in CoD games anon. There isn't even any AI.

It's been years since I played CoD2, but all I remember is it being nothing more than a shooting gallery like every other military shooter.
if my fricking "allies" can actually do shit (read:kill the fricking enemies) so that i can push a little bit/change cover safely, then yeah, id agree that veteran is very enjoyable
Yeah okay, but can you zoomer consolegays please explain the stupid X kill indicator?
You'll notice kill animations and blood and screams and shit in older games instead.

you zoomer homosexuals are reminding me of the old youtube where moronic children would comment under old music videos on youtube like 15 years ago saying that they're different and not like everyone else for listening to fricking pink floyd and led zeppelin.
that's COD2

>trying out old boomer games
>holy shit call of duty 1 is filtering me hard
This bald lil' inbred homie is getting everywhere.
skinny pete's fallen on hard times
It's a very cover oriented game, you gotta play Real slow to survive most missions. Pegasus Bridge fricked me up back in the day.
For me it's modern warfare 1 but I accept mw2 was probably the pinnacle of the series back in the day.
CoD 4 was definitely the pinnacle
MW2 was the concept turned up to 11 so people remember it more

CoD4 is better
CoD4 is a party game and is console trash. Always has been, always will be.
wow, you are very smart anon
Could you imagine no indicator?
All you know is GRENADE and no idea where to move. Then your ded.
Gee. If only grenades made a sound when they landed. Fricking idiot.
So you're a consoleshitter
Gee if only you could, oh I don't know, listen to the sound of the grenade bouncing to determine the direction or use your fricking eyes to see it?
Recoil is dumb in these games because sometimes it was way too unnatural. A trained soldier is going to be able to control firing this gun way better like how the last part shows. I don't know why neckbeards like to b***h about recoil in certain games where it ain't warranted.

cod 3 didn't get a PC release because they were in over their heads with how many different console versions they had to make in 8 months
Right after Call of Duty 1 release, Infinity Ward wanted to make a shooter set in present times and made for consoles, basically they wanted to make COD4.
Activision gave them a choice, either they make a PC exclusive shooter set in present times, or WW2 shooter for consoles.
And which game did ultimately did COD2 become?
Now play Rogue Spear
That isn't call of duty 1

lol what
Things like doom and he en that you know as Boomer games are actually pre Boomer games
>cod1 was released 2 decades ago
jesus
That 25 year old boomer that tells Ramirez to take Burgertown
Its older than half life 2 and doom 3 and those are called boomer games all the time
By morons, yes.
COD pre-MW is unplayable shit at this point. WW2 is unfortunately going to remain shit thanks to woke culture. No point now to these type of shooters until wokeness goes away.
sorry, made a typo
meant to write
>COD post-MW is unplayable shit
No I didn't make a typo. COD before MW is outdated early 2000's FPS trash.
CoD 2 is the best game in the franchise
Laughing out loudly literally
Zoom Zoom
sorry forgot to mention im trans btw and go by they/them
MW with the absolutely shit story turned the entire franchise into shit.
Good on you for checking out the past to see if you like older stuff.
Medal of Honour > CoD
Hidden and Dangerous > all other WW2 shooters.
Just like
Vietcong > all other modern military shooters.
I hate that there hasn't been a game with gameplay like CoD2 since 4 came out. I finished it when I was like 12yo. Wtf is up with these zoomies?
CoD was literally my first fps and i have beaten it without problems
Are you legit braindead?
Play Descent and cry like a little zoomie when you encounter the hitscanners.
Started replaying CoD1 some time ago. You can already see the CINEMATIC PRESENTATION meme in some of the rail sections and such, but it was still overall enjoyable.
Made the mistake on playing Veteran though; Pavolv's House sucked all the joy out of it.
Pavolv's house is the best part of the veteran run though. Its pure PTSD inducing horror that makes you feel like a blood soaked child by the end
Playing pretty much any CoD on veteran is like being in a real war: not very enjoyable at all
Veteran mode is the only way CoD campaigns should be played. Its the only difficulty that makes you think about how you approach combat instead of just walking forward and tanking all the bullets
Waiting behind a wood plank like a moron and killing 1 braindeas NPC after the other isn't as smart as you think
If you just hide behind cover and shoot people you're never progress because of infinite respawns.
Okay anon, you have to wait, and sometimes walk forward, holy crap
now you're just being reductionist. Having to master your situational awareness to know when and where you can advance is fun. More fun than the bland shooting gallery CoD is on default difficulties

You mean that mission from United Offensive right ?
Are all call of duty players brainwashed american 13yo war-addicted kids?
I've only beaten 1,2 and 4 the rest is ass I don't wanna even think about playing them.
>boome rgames
>call of duty 1
That game came out in 2003, it is 6th gen game, that is firmly zoomercore.
It is not 2020 anymore, gramps.
/vr/ lost.
>Zoomer core
>the oldest zoomers were 6 years old when it released
that's Call of Duty 2 and not your screenshot
one of the laziest bait threads I've seen in years
consoles really did ruin the potential of cod and there's no fixing it today. united offensive could have replaced battlefield
>Carentan 24/7
>UP Zombies
>Modern Warfare Mod
Shiiieeeet those were the days for me
Was CoD1 the one with actually competent allies?
I replayed the COD2 demo on PC so many times. I was floored at how realistic it felt
I remember watching E3 gameplay over and over again then getting blown away by full version once it was out
