In my latest run, dropping 4 nuclear rockets on the US ended the war, as civil war erupted and the stalinist Confederate States and stalinist California swallowed up North America.
Very crazy save, with lots of weird things happening.

The AoD team and DH team should have teamed up and made a game that didn't use Paradox's engine after releasing their HOI2s, maybe then PDX would have had a competitor. Shame that they were too early for Patron and similar internet-social-security schemes.

they are all a bunch of volunteers, though i do get your point. Would have been a better timeline then this one that resulted in the abomination that HoI 4 is.

Nice. I am running a timelapse on Iron Cross right now to see how moronic the ai is.

All they need are many more dynamic events for the main nations in WW2, and doctrine trees that actually feel unique.

youre calling a revamp of gameplay systems bloat but more dynamic events are what you want? stick to your troony HoI IV mods.

Are they adding a Darkest Hour style map?

Not known yet. But i bet it wont look as pretty as DH does.

Okay I'll get it. And I'm laying too. But I'm returning if it sux tbh.

      updates arent out yet.

how does this game differ from DH?

Combat system gimmicks. It's better than DH infantry stack spam, but not worth the hoi2 map.

        better economy too.
To me DH combat is an absolute no-go. Also i believe there is a mod that installs DH map

This might actually get me to play it if it gets a map on par with DH.

I bought the game on Steam and it only updates to 1.11. How do I play the updated 1.12 version?

DH has better map and much more events.
AoD has more features and revamped combat.

AoD actually has a fully fleshed out political system, where coups and revolts can naturally occur from you fricking up, failing to manage dissent or changing too radically for your demographics. Its cool.

I'm enjoying this game more than DH divisions getting supply like in hoi3 is pretty cool, also download the CORE mod it's great.

We get that you are assmad about being too stupid to run DH on your pc no-stats-kun, but do you have to show up to be salty in every thread where DH is mentioned?

I installed the game. Made 0 changes and it ran fine. Played 5 years in-game and realized that its just a super watered down hoi3 with way less tiles.

HoI 3's AI is fully dysfunctional and poses no challenge, even while ignoring OOB autism, its easy to win on very hard. HoI 2 games are simpler but also more coherent and challenging on highest difficulty.

Just described AI in most (all?) paradox games

Thats because the AI only has to guard the 5 tiles its country is comprised of

thats correct meanwhile the balance is so good that even there you can pull off maneuvers. Rushing the ardennes for encirclement in french war is for example very much doable and yet quite challenging at very hard difficulty.
