It's officially over.
Ubisoft's last Assassin's Creed game for the PS4/Xbox One will be Mirage, coming out next year. After that, it's next-gen only.

>“We’ll announce the dates a bit later on but we wanted to mark a change technologically and gameplay-wise as we’re moving to a fully next-gen – or current gen, I guess we call it – with the PS5 and the Xbox Series X,” says Cote.
RIP PS4/Bone 2013-2023
you've had two years to upgrade, get over it
Two years of "not available".
fake news
>Basims outfit has blue highlights
>Everyone else's outfight has red highlights
Why?
Loki likes mischief.
since its the game about him becoming an assassin those are likely apprentice colors or something
When you cut your finger it means you've already passed the training, so you should be wearing the same outfit as everyone.
Also, Basim's upbringing is very similar of that Jake Gyllenhaal Prince of Persia. I wonder if there are going to be any references of some sort.
They said in another video he gets red highlights later in the game as he advances in ranks
society is collapsing
>releasing games exclusively on a platform no one has
lol. Based morons.
you think no one will have a PS5 or xbox by 2024-2025?
>implying you even attempted to buy one
the PS5 can be found if you actively seek one out, and the XSX is readily available now.
I got a PS5 🙂
It's amazing.
The PS5 is basically dead, what's the point of next gen games only in 2024?
Hilarious because this game looks like something on the ps3.
Ubishit is such a joke
How do you know, they have literally not shown anything about it, just a CGI trailer.
Lmao this, and even when they later reveal gameplay, don't count that as final until the game is released.
good, i wish they'd have done it day 1 so we can get better games
cyberpunk would've been 5x the game if it didn't release on 100 platforms and had to cater to 2013 hardware with 5400rpm hdd's
>good, i wish they'd have done it day 1 so we can get better games
yeah, just cancel builds of games far along in development to uhhh... get better games
Yes?
Look at MGSV, it suffered from being limited by PS360 and yet the vast majority of sales were from PS4 and PC.
>suffered from being limited by PS360
Yes, if they cancelled the game on ps3/x360 one nanosecond before being released it would magically turn into le next-gen game
get real, it'd take several more years of development
game development isn't just new console released = dropping old console that you've been developing your game for, it just doesn't make any sense
assassin's creed unity did not come out on ps3/x360 because it was developed from the ground up for ps4/xone (and rushed as shit to come out in 2014). assassin's creed red will be the first one to be developed without the ps4/xone in mind
Thank fricking god, it's only 3 years too late.
There should have been no PS4/Xbone AAAs after 2020.
how is it over? its a good thing you moron
Thank God.
These homosexuals are taking their damn time.
the series S is cheap and runs next-gen shit just fine.
Is this an actual assassins creed game or RPG shit? I dropped all of the new assassins creed games because of how bloated they were. Would have been better with no side quests and just the main ones.
Mirage is supposed to, as stated by the developers, be a return to basics set out by the first AC. So no RPG loot systems or whatever.
Meanwhile Red/Japan is supposed to be an RPG one.
So for now it seems like Ubisoft is banking on both styles of AC games being popular enough to support, or at least be big enough to support two development pipelines.
>Mirage is supposed to, as stated by the developers, be a return to basics set out by the first AC. So no RPG loot systems or whatever.
Source.
Also, I'll believe it when I see it when the game releases.
>Asking for source while being to lazy to just search for the Ubisoft talk on YT that went live 2 days ago.
>Even with source wouldn't believe Ubisoft anyway.
Stop being autistic about this, Anon.
Nooooo why is this still being made for last gen shit consoles, supressing the possibility's of new hardware. This game is gonna be shit for it needs to work on that abominable AMD Jaguar CPU's.
Dude, it's an old school style ass creed
If anything it should be much less demanding than Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla and those ran fine on PS4/Xboner
You think to limited, Anon. A current gen Assassins Creed game in the classic style, can be a lot more appealing in many ways. It would be like the leap from Assassins Creed 1 to Unity. Much more NPC's, better AI, better textures, new features. Many things they can't do because it all needs to work on an ancient 5400rpm HDD and Tablet tier CPU.
Unity already had a shit ton of NPCs, and that was the first game on PS4/XOne (and a rushed one at that). Muh grafix are scaleable.
AI and "features" haven't been a focus of game development for the past 15 years. Games today offer very limited interactivity and dumb AI, and that isn't changing regardless of hardware.
Its time to let go and bury the old tech so things can start evolving. Just like Unity wouldn't work the way it was envisioned on the PS3.
You let go of it when the time comes
Games take longer and longer to be developed. Unity shouldn't even have come out in 2014, it was rushed and you know it.
I'm not sure when this new game started being developed but it is a smaller one being developed by a side studio. It's supposed to be a small game for those that don't care about the big RPGs (those are the main ones and will keep being made). This game simply has a very limited scope and I fail to see what cancelling the last-gen versions this late in the development cycle (keep in mind it's coming out right next year, it was always supposed to be a PS4 game) would do.
Xbox series x is available to buy right now a normal price in Norway. It has been like that for at least 3 months, the PS5 still takes some time but it’s doable.
don't care
not a consolegay
Should have happened sooner, current gen games have been massively held back because of it. I've had a PS5 since February of last year but there's been little reason to use it because everything is still on last gen and barely looks or runs better.
Games don't magically turn "next-gen" if you cancel the almost complete last-gen version you know
No, but they do if you completely stop developing them for old hardware. The PS5 and Series X versions of games are just last gen ports rather than actual current gen games. These consoles have not actually been used anywhere near their full performance potential yet.
It's a transitional period. Games stop coming out on old platforms when
a) they are developed from the ground up for the new systems (which takes a long time)
b) the scope of the game outgrows the previous gen consoles (which takes years)
This generational transition is going to be about a year longer than the one from PS3 to PS4. Because games take more time to be developed. It just feels a lot longer to gaymers because first parties are also supporting older hardware like third parties usually do instead of needlessly ditching it
