My guess is that Ubisoft will go on a diet on itself in order to sell itself out. Close most of the global studios and keep only the French headquarters.
Or they just go bankrupt and take everything they own to auction like thq did.
Feels like the French government would block a foreign acquisition. I think Ubisoft will rescale down, they have too many studios, too many employees but their releases don't line up at all. They should be releasing 3-4 games a year with atleast 1 big a huge flagship game. The problem is they bungled Skull and Bones for years, bungled Watch Dogs 2 and Legion. 2 had legs but initially wasn't the big hit. Division 2 didn't have the legs they envisioned, and Ghost Recon Wildlands went from a 10m+ seller to Ghost Recon Breakpoint literally killing Watch Dogs Legion in blindfire at the same time.
ANNO was doomed as soon as Ubisoft took over the devs. 1800 is fricking hilarious with how each DLC got stupider and stupider. The docklands just makes the entire game a cake walk for example.
I hope all the buildings get locked and then set on fire with all the literal scum of humanity still inside.
The deaths of the thousands of people working for Ubisoft won't sate my hatred for this dogshit company, but it's a fricking start. They just need to leak the name and address of anyone who has played a Ubisoft game since 2005, and then all those people need to burn as well for crimes against humanity.
I've only ever pirated Ubishit games and always been too disgusted with the dull collectathon nonsense and dogshit writing to finish them. Am I gonna make it?
They aren't going to die
They just need to cut everything except AssCreed, Far Cry and Tom Clancy's game
And fire the 90% of the people of the company who does frick all
Far Cry 5 did 25M, AssCreed Vikings was the biggest first week since AssCreed III. Those franchises still sells and their are still demands for it
The problem is all the rest that no one is asking for >7 non announced game cancelled when they already anounced the new AssCreed
Who asked for new games ? nobody, just make AssCreed and Far Cry and voila
when they announced the removal of access to the dlcs and games you own on digital services, i removed all their games from my wishlist and i'll never buy one again
i wish i could have refunded the ones i bought in the past
digital delivery is a long term trust relationship between the customer and the publisher, and ubisoft has proven to be the least trustworthy company on earth.
>pajeetsoft
it's even worse than the rockstar india studio, where talentless diversity hire poojeetas who have almost no interest in games are like more than 50% of the employees
t. pajeet who almost got scammed into working at poopersoft
Whoever tech bro managed to sell his concept of using Tezos im MTX to Yves Guillemot is probably still chuckling to himself in his beach chair somewhere expensive and still can't believe Yves really fell for it.
>Which one is it?
I kind of wish it was true, at least then Ubisoft would have one last bit of dignity.
Or maybe it's just because no one wants to buy it, so the pretence is that it doesn't actually want to sell itself.
Keyword is hostile. What they're saying is they're not looking to have a total takeover, like BioWare was by EA. They want to maintain their independance but be owned and funded. Basically Ubisoft is moronic and its why they were laughed at.
>They want to maintain their independance but be owned and funded.
I remember that Ubisoft is actually a family business, and the top CEO and other executives of the company are brothers. Maybe they want to still have control of the company after selling most of their shares.
The problem is that this is impossible, even Microsoft can't give you a large amount of money for free and not intervene in the company in any way.
Especially when the CEO has turned Ubisoft into a pathetic meme.
>"As we said last February, we have everything we need to remain independent," Guillemot continued. "We have the talent, the industrial and the financial scale, and a large portfolio of powerful IPs to create massive value in the coming years. It has provided us with the plan to build strategic partnership with the biggest players in the entertainment and tech."
>Guillemot added that the current speculation around a potential takeover bid, "is putting in plain sight the real appeal and value of our health and of our value creation potential." He did, however, stress that, as is standard practice for a publicly listed company, Ubisoft's board would review any offer "in the interest of all shareholders and our great teams."
>Following April's chatter around the private equity sector's escalating interest in Ubisoft, a separate report suggested the publisher's founding Guillemot family was indeed looking partner with one of these private equity firms, albeit while retaining control of the company - a move designed to see off a full-scale takeover attempt by another party.
This is so stupid and ridiculous.
It's as ridiculous as a prostitute trying to sell herself for $100,000 and not allowing a client to touch her.
Even Microsoft can't be such a waste of money.
5/14 members of Ubisoft's board of directors are all members of the Guillemot family. It is painfully obvious that Ubisoft is a company run by nepotism and favoritism instead of meritocracy.
Yeah, that's why no one would be stupid enough to buy it.
That's just a waste of money.
That's exactly what they want

>MUH NEPOTISM
Literally what's wrong with that? It's their company, it's just just fair that their sons and daughters get to work in the family business.
Capcom is exactly in the same position (except the family members have essentially full control) and everybody is fine with that
come now, ubisoft isnt the creator of far cry or ray man; and mentioning these in an article about how they dont want to be taken over is deeply ironic.
I'm shocked at how many people in this thread don't know Jeff Grub. How fricking out of touch with the gaming industry do you have to be?
No wonder Ganker is nothing but politics and porn dumps, you morons don't even care about videogames.
>no one wants to buy their shitty games >so no one wants to buy their shitty company
Why is this such a big deal? A trash company making trash product means no one else wants to buy their trashy trash. Seems like common sense instead of the twit of the century.
>>no one wants to buy their shitty games >>so no one wants to buy their shitty company
This is true.
The funniest thing is when every player says they game is not fun and refuses to spend money on it.
Ubisoft CEO still completely ignores the players' opinions, he continues to ask his employees to output crap games that no one wants and are 1000% soulless.
In the end Ubisoft's stock price is finished and there is no money left.
Ubisoft tried to turn itself into a prostitute, but no one wanted to frick it.
the best thing that could happen is that Ubisoft are forced to pull a THQ and auction off their IP's
the properties Ubisoft own have potential (Tom Clancy games, Far Cry, Driver, Might & Magic, Red Steel, Prince of Persia, there's probably more I'm forgetting), but that potential will NEVER be realized by Ubisoft themselves, who have proven to be incompetent as frick time and time again
Tom Clancy games were amazin' on the OG Xbox Live. So were the Splinter Cell games. I agree though, once PS3/360 generation hit Ubisoft went to shit, though I did like R6 Las Vegas. Think the turning point was the first Ass creed game.
Ubisoft has 7 new undisclosed games, 3 of which have already been cancelled because they're crap. You don't even know what they are.
At least 10,000 people, wasting their time and lives on crap games that have absolutely no soul and that no one even wants.
Needing an average of 1500 employees to shit out the 6th copy of the same franchise, or to develop something that gets cancelled halfway through, is ridiculous.
I'm guessing you don't actually work in a large company yourself but 1500 employees is a absolutely HUGE amount of people.
>Ubisoft
So that's 1050 HR employees, 300 professional historical revisionists, 100 Social Media Managers, 40 people who take scans of famous buildings and 10 white men who code the actual games.
You mean Patrick Desilé (or however you spell his name)?
"Recently" he made that game where you play as some sort of pre-historic primate evolving that can evilve. It didn't get great ratings and he was super butt-hurt about it. Guy came across as someone with an extremely fragile ego... no surprise there, he's french.
too be fair the gameplay and story of AC was always trash. Worse then Prince of Persia in every way. The only thing it had going was depicting historical setting with impressive npc crowds and even that aspect was removed and now the games don’t even present the cultures historical accurate due to woke reasons.

He fricked up the concept by making the game world this absurd 12-mile long valley you have to progress through to physically reach the end of the game. And you have to unlock milestones or some shit to be allowed to progress. You don't even get to become a neanderthal or an early homosexual sapiens.
The scale of the game was miniscule beyond the initial trial and error monkey business.
Ubisoft is like 15 studios all over the world, they will never try to sell themselves like that, they'lll make deals in a case by case scenario for each studios.
Remember when Ghost Recon Breakpoint bombed so badly that they said they were re-evaluating every game in development and making their standards way stricter for what kinds of pitches they greenlight? What happened to that?
If I had the money I would buy Ubisoft and open-source the Ubiart framework like Michel Ancel wanted then I would kill the rabbids franchise and start development of a new 3D Rayman game
How about stopping with the AAA bullshit, and y'know, innovating again. Making AA games that tries new things. Going outside of the god awful AAA "muh open world" genre
It looks like all the AAA devs are currently having this issue. Development is starting to be ridiculous and even more than ever, one big stinker could really sink the company
Hopefully AAA is dead soon
They learnt that they could release copies of the same game with little change and make a killing.
They hardly innovate, they want money without the effort.

Also if someone is gonna buy them, its gonna be Microsoft (greed).

Is Phil okay?

Let me wipe away all the tears I shed for Ubisoft with the smallest tissue ever made.
That's just because literally nobody wants Uplay
>Making games is a rough business
Have they tried just making good games and not being as israeli as possible with shitty anti-consumer stuff?
Ubisoft is on the decline they've oversaturated the market with ass creed games to the point no one cares anymore
>20k employees around the world
lol.
>nearly 10k of them are diversity quota women or blacks that can‘t code
Oh no! Companies don't want to be making Assassin's creed on early basis.
What a shame!
Microsoft will buy them. They are hungry for any IP and they don't care about the quality.
Feels like the French government would block a foreign acquisition. I think Ubisoft will rescale down, they have too many studios, too many employees but their releases don't line up at all. Depends on how many. If you've played more than one AssCreed title, there's no saving you.
I played Black Flag and the extra soulless one set in the industrial revolution which was so shit and buggy I dropped it before I got halfway.
They aren't going to die

That's great. Ubisoft can go back to being Blue Byte and make Settlers again

Was Tezos rugged?
Tezos is one of the decent ones
This is one of the reasons why Ubisoft has become a joke in the gaming industry.
Hope they go under and all the employees are forced to sell their asses on the corner street and get raped and pimped out by gangster chicanos
I'd rather have them do the old THQ way and sell the IPs in stocks at the highest bidder.

no, unless Nintendo likes to eat shit.
Nintendo would sell off the shit like AssCreed and could revive Rayman etc
>Rayman
Well, I do like Rayman. unfortunately, unless Ubisoft goes bankrupt, there can't be a new Rayman game.
I wish Nintendo would buy something surprising just to see the reaction

we’re not getting another splinter cell before ironside dies are we
As long as Rayman finds a good home, I don't care what happens to Ubisoft
Remember when Unisoft was cool? Remember sands of time? Warrior within? Beyond good and evil?
there was a VERY small period during the PS2 days when Ubisoft were cool, but outside of that they've been a dumpster fire
Tom Clancy games were amazin' on the OG Xbox Live. So were the Splinter Cell games. I agree though, once PS3/360 generation hit Ubisoft went to shit, though I did like R6 Las Vegas. Think the turning point was the first Ass creed game.
I can't think of the last Ubisoft game I played. Maybe Trials Evolution, I heard the one after was pretty bad but never played it.
Actually remembered as I posted that they made Rocksmith and I tried the beta for 2 which was absolute dog shit.

it really doesn't. They are clearly bloated to hell.

Microsoft 200 thousands employees. Way to much for ubisoft.
Without Microsoft, 99% of India would be unemployed.
what ever happened ti the guy who created assassins creed and got fired?
didn’t he work on a game set in amsterdam?
Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey
He made a game that lets you be a chimp.
AND made it one of the very first EGS paid exclusives. Which of course means it bombed utterly beyond any hope of salvation.
imagine making a game about the farce that is out of Africa theory. deservedly bombed. Maybe he should make a game about landing on the moon next.

Exactly their new policy.
All new games canceled.
Only remakes of past glory.
That's not working too well since they can't even release a basic remake of a PS2 Prince of Persia in more time than it took to make the original.
but I thought adding microtransactions to all your games would be profitable?
what happened?
Im sure you Jeff really knows what hes talking about.
His info is usually legit.
Diversity is our strength.
I will buy it for one dollar, final offer.
