They should Strike, it's not the employees fault, the Ceo make all the decisions.

      >executives decides that Ubisoft should churn out mountains of putrid garbage
      >literally a dozen battle royale games in development at the same time
      >cancel tons of projects internally
      >keep pouring money into complete disasters like Beyond Good and Evil 2
      >works for a while but eventually this trend chasing in an oversaturated market makes even normalgays realize that this shit is wack and they stop buying it
Why can't they go back to making single-player action adventure kino like Prince of Persia trilogy...

      >keeps chasing dogshit trends way past it's phase
      >multiple shitty battle royale shooters/hero shooters churned out in hopes of a big hit so they can sit around and take turns shitting on eachother while printing money
      >its muhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh employeeeeeees

the problem with ubisoft executives is that they didn't manage to wrangle their incompetent employees into making any fricking games last year and the reason those battle royales sucked were because they had tons of terrible "innovations" tacked onto them because again executives can't stop their "creatives" from coming up with shit ideas

Ubishit games absolutely reek of design by comitee, you can be sure all the "ideas" and "innovations" you're talking about are coming from those executives during development to copy other games no matter how moronic those ideas are in the context of their current development.

Like I’d pitch my own idea for a Ubisoft game if I had any personal talent, I’d keep that shit to my chest and pursue it on my own. They’re there for a paycheck nobody is actually excited to work on asscreed or Tom Clancy games as codemonkey

Ubisoft dug their own grave when they stopped releasing games on Steam to earn easy shekels from the Epic Gay Store only for sales to plummet. Now they've come crawling back to Steam with their proverbial tail between their legs except not really since you still have to use the Uplay launcher anyway.

The sooner Ubisoft crashes and burns the better.

Everyone knows that Western AAA games are designed at the suit level these days, with the devs not even getting to decide the basic philosophy behind the games they make anymore. See Rocksteady being forced to make GaaS Suicide Squad garbage after delivering the very successful Arkham games.

    >over 20,000 employees
    >over 20 studios
    >let's say each of those studios has around 1,000 employees
If Ubisoft wants to survive while keeping that number of employees, they need to diversify their portfolio and let their separate studios experiment with different genres. With 20k employees and 20 studios, they should be releasing new games of various genres almost monthly while some of the back-burner (a release schedule rivaling Nintendo's good years) Focus on mid-budget games with a sparkle of small/mobile and large/AAA titles, bring back old franchises (Rayman, Splinter Cell) and make new potential franchises (Rabbids)/singular titles (Child of Light). All different genres for a smaller but dedicated audience (sports/extreme sports, platformers both 2d and 3d, rpgs, anything but asscreeds and fay crys).

tldr: you have that many employees and you can't shit out a new Rayman

      >over 20k employees
How? I mean, what are they even doing there - I know that they have their janitors working on Siege and For Honor one day a week, then there’s the cursed bunch forced to work on Skull and Bones, but beyond that it’s all AC and Far Cry.

All they have to do is make a good knockoff of MGS V with Splinter Cell. That's it. That's literally it. I bet they are in this position because they turned down so many good ideas simply because the protags were white males.

The CEO by the way isn't wrong but he is at fault for letting it get this bad. I worked for a FAANG before. I imagine Ubisoft is not that much different. You have the investors and top managers at the top. All they care about is money go up. That's literally it. So they leave the middle managers in charge to mostly do everything. Who are the middle managers? Well these are your diversity hires. Your agenda seekers. They are the ones that make the actual decisions that make a game woke and bland. A lot of these companies were coasting on past success which is why they were able to employ these people but we are at the end times of that.

So the CEO is right to blame the people under him but the CEO also let it get this way and didn't care so he is to blame probably more so. They didn't see what their company was becoming just that dollars were going up at some point so everything must be ok.

      Anonymous

The CEO is the defacto responsibility of the company. If the company is doing bad under his management then that's on his. Full stop. That's literally what it means to be CEO. It's just that CEOs are rarely the ones who take responsibility for it. It's much easier to cut 11k employees for example.
