Attempts for decomp on B3313 failed but apparently 1.0 might work on hardware unless it can't handle some of the crazy yellow switch shit they have planned
The demo worked after they fricked with some things but it was still a little laggy.
Return to Yoshi's Island will be the definitive mario 64 rom hack and i cannot fricking wait
So many people have tried to chase the whole "sequel to Mario 64" shit with romhacks since Star Road but out of all of them Return to Yoshi's Island feels the most worthy of that title.
Mystery of the Capsmith is kino too hope they make a full version of that.
You're a fricking moron. >furry transgender frick wants to make rom hack
>makes N64 mario rom hack >rom hack cant even be played on a real n64 even though it has n64 graphics and using that engine.
are you some fricking moron whats even the point then.
MEDS NOW
So you can play it on an emulator like any non-moron does. I would much rather have Mario 64 as the core of a much better game that can't actually run on real N64 hardware than being able to play it one some dusty old N64 with capacitors bound to fail one day because you fell for some hardware accuracy meme.
considering 70% of snes romhacks can only be run on zsnes because they were made for a shitty emulator, this is the right move
if it's not hardware accurate, it's not a rom hack. it's some fricking abomination
Targetting a specific non-accurate emulator means your hack is doomed to be fricked one day. It has nothing to do with running on an actual N64, it has to do with the code not falling to pieces because it only works with some weird bug in place that isn't real
you're completely delusional if you think anyone but an extremely tiny fraction of people (probably like 10 at most) are playing romhacks on real hardware

He's been very efficent at it though, normally with mods that spend this long optimizing they're like 30% done. He's doing things very quickly and it seems like he's almost done.
Kaze is the undisputed Mario 64 autist king. But will he deliver when it comes to level design? Being technically impressive won't make his hack fun to play.
I mean, judging based off of his previous work, probably. Last Impact is a bit rough around the edges but is overall good, and I think that Through The Ages has some of the best levels of any mario rom hacks. the worlds are great and i love the unique gimmicks. It just looks like a bigger version of Through The Ages, so I think if he follows that design it'll be extremely good.
I've never heard of this so i decided to play it myself. While I'd like to agree with you, so far the level design feels really lacking despite the caps being pretty creative. The stars use the caps but its not in any intresting or challenging ways. I hope when the full mod comes out they include more challenge for each cap and flesh them out.
Also the water cap feels really bad to use
Always surprised nobody has made a proper Mario 64 horror romhack or mod with the PC port. Literally so much more potential to do insane shit when you don't have to work around N64 limits.
If we're talking 64 hacks then Star Road is still the king for me. The level design hasn't been topped to this day. If we're talking all Mario hacks then I think Newer Super Mario Bros Wii and DS are close contenders as well. They have some of the most polished 2D Mario level design along with unique theming for worlds.
no cap mario
>no cap
>no cap
>no cap
why does every fricking zoomer sound like a Blackian slave now
>now

There have been multiple attempts. All have failed

Return to Yoshi's Island will be the definitive mario 64 rom hack and i cannot fricking wait
Yeah this is gonna be the best mario fricking game. ever. frick calling it a rom hack.

I personally think GomePlayTV has dethroned Kaze after playing the Capsmith demo.
Sadly it will probably take even longer than Return to Yoshi's Island to get a full hack out of him.
He at least has a better handle on art style and level design, that's for sure. Plus his real-hardware optimizations seem pretty impressive, too.

B3313 is Ganker culture, cope homosexual
This frightens and confuses the zoom zoom. There could be an entire empty room on the other side of that wall.
It took you 53 Stars to figure it out?

Can your SM64 copy look like a better romhack?
All of these hacks take forever to be released. I just want a consistent stream of quality hacks.
is this ever coming out or what
Next month if they don't horribly frick something up
So whats your favorite mario rom hack and why?
